Abstract
【解決手段】ゴム状弾性を有する弾性ポリマーに補強剤として導電性カーボンを配合してセパレータに必要な導電性および剛性を付与し、かつセパレータの表裏両面に存在する額縁状の外周部に導電性カーボンの配合量が少ない絶縁性エラストマーからなるガスケット層を一体的に積層し、この片面のガスケット層に筋溝を、他面のガスケット層に突条をそれぞれ形成し、この筋溝および突条が嵌合してシール機能を発揮できるようにする。

Claims (3)
- 導電性材料によって長方形の板状に形成され、その片面および他面の外周に沿って額縁状の外周部を備え、この外周部の内側にシート状電極のセットが可能な中央凹部を備えた燃料電池用セパレータにおいて、上記の導電性材料がゴム状弾性を有する弾性ポリマーと導電性カーボンとを混合した導電性エラストマーであり、この導電性エラストマーからなる額縁状外周部の表面に、上記の弾性ポリマーと導電性カーボンとの混合物であって、上記の導電性エラストマーに比して導電性カーボンの配合率が低い絶縁性エラストマーからなるガスケット層が一体的に積層され、上記片面のガスケット層に上記の中央凹部を囲むリング状の筋溝が成形され、他面のガスケット層に上記片面の筋溝と対応して上記の中央凹部を囲むリング状の突条が上記の筋溝と嵌合してシール機能を発揮するように一体成形されていることを特徴とする燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 弾性ポリマーがメタロセン触媒を用いて製造されたものであり、導電性カーボンが高熱処理で不純物を焼却したグラファイトおよびカーボンブラックの混合物からなる請求項1に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 導電性エラストマーの架橋が架橋剤を配合することなく電子線照射で行なわれている請求項1または2に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
