Description

The grease composition of the present invention relates to grease used for motor bearings for home appliances such as air conditioners and motor bearings for information devices such as hard disk drives. It relates to low noise grease.

Conventionally, an ester-based synthetic oil (hereinafter referred to as a polymer ester oil) in which eight or more ester groups are arranged in a comb-like shape on one side of a chain molecule of an oil composed of eight or more carbon atoms has been used. As a grease composition, a urea-based thickener is added to a base oil in which a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and an ester-based synthetic oil are blended at a weight ratio of 0.65 to 0.75: 0.35 to 0.25. There is known a grease for enclosing a bearing. (Patent Document 1)
However, this grease is enclosed in a ball bearing that supports a belt-driven pulley that is mounted in the vicinity of an automobile engine whose rotational speed changes rapidly, and when used in a cold region, a unique sound similar to a whistling sound is generated. Used to solve problems.
In addition, as a grease to be sealed in the same bearing, a urea oil is added to a base oil in which a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and an ester synthetic oil are blended at a weight ratio of 0.65 to 0.75: 0.35 to 0.25. There is also known a grease composition for enclosing a bearing to which a thickener is added (Patent Document 2).

Furthermore, in a grease composition enclosed in a bearing used in an electronic computer semiconductor manufacturing apparatus or the like, when low noise and low vibration are important, a grease containing lithium soap as a thickener and ester oil as a base oil is used. Typical low noise and low torque grease is used. However, this lithium soap-ester grease easily scatters, and when used as it is, there is a problem that the recording medium is likely to be soiled (Patent Document 3).
However, none of the documents discloses a grease composition for encapsulating a low-noise small motor bearing having a polymer ester oil as a main component of a base oil.

The present invention is a grease composition comprising 5 to 20% by mass of a thickener and 95 to 80% by mass of a base oil, using lithium soap as a thickener and a chain molecule represented by the following general formula as a base oil. Polymer ester oil with 8 or more ester groups arranged on one side in a comb shape (I)
(In the formula, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are all alkyl groups, and are integers of x ≧ 2 and y ≧ 2.)
And a base oil viscosity (40 ° C.) of 25 to 80 mm 2 / s, a low noise type lithium grease composition for enclosing a small motor bearing.

The penetration is determined using JIS K22207, and the dropping point is determined using JIS K22208. In the bearing characteristic test, a grease composition as an object is sealed in a small bearing, and the volatilization amount after 1000 hours is measured in a bearing rotation test at a rotational torque, an acoustic characteristic at normal temperature, an ambient temperature of 100 ° C., and a rotational speed of 3,000 rpm. The acoustic characteristics (acoustic life) of the bearing were measured. For the acoustic characteristics, the Anderon value was measured with an Anderon meter before and after the bearing rotation test. The rotational torque was measured with a torque tester at 3000 rpm, a load of 2 kg, and room temperature. The amount of volatilization was determined by measuring the weight of the bearing before and after the bearing rotation test and calculating the difference. Table 1 (Example) and Table 2 (Comparative Example) show the determination results according to the performance required for the motor bearing grease composition for each evaluation result. The smaller the Anderon value, the lower the torque, and the lower the amount of volatilization, the better the acoustic characteristics. Evaluation was performed in the following four stages. A is particularly excellent. B is excellent. C is normal. D is inferior. The unit of base oil viscosity is mm 2 / s.
