しかし、このグリースは、急激に回転速度が変化する自動車のエンジン近傍に取付けられるベルト駆動プーリを支持する玉軸受に封入され、寒冷地で使用すると、笛吹き音に似た特異な音が発生する問題点を解決するために用いられている。
また、同様の軸受に封入するグリースとして、合成炭化水素油とエステル系合成油とを0.65〜0.75:0.35〜0.25の重量比で配合した基油に、ウレア系増稠剤を添加してなる軸受封入用グリース組成物も知られている(特許文献2)。

また、本発明においては、ポリマーエステル油(イ)を基油の主要成分として含んでいれば良いが、とくにポリマーエステル油(イ)以外にエステル系合成油(ロ)、合成炭化水素油(ハ)およびエーテル系合成油(二)の1種以上を含んでいても良い。
さらに、本発明において、ポリマーエステル油(イ)がグリース組成物全体の20〜50質量%、エステル系合成油(ロ)がグリース組成物全体の10〜45質量%、および合成炭化水素油(ハ)がグリース組成物全体の5〜45質量%であるであることが望ましい。
さらにまた、本発明において、ポリマーエステル油(イ)がグリース組成物全体の20〜50質量%、エステル系合成油(ロ)がグリース組成物全体の10〜45質量%、合成炭化水素油(ハ)がグリース組成物全体の5〜15質量%、およびエーテル系合成油(二)がグリース組成物全体の10〜45質量%であることが望ましい。
また、本発明において、リチウム石けんが、12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウム石けんと、直鎖脂肪酸リチウム石けんの混合物であり、12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウム石けんがグリース組成物全体の2.5〜10質量%、直鎖脂肪酸リチウム石けんがグリース組成物全体の2.5〜10質量%とすることができる。

本発明で用いる合成炭化水素油(ハ)は、グリース組成物全体の5〜45質量%であることが望ましい。

表1に示す割合で混合し、全体が液体になるまで撹拌しながら220℃〜230℃に加熱した。これをステンレス容器に厚さ3〜5mmになるように流し込み、50℃以下に冷却後、三本ロールで均質化することによりグリース組成物を得た。表1にグリース組成物の成分割合と試験結果を示す。
