Abstract
Description
前面壁及びその反対側の後面壁を有する光放出パネルと、
透光性レンズ状カバーが設けられた発光ダイオードを有する少なくとも1つの光源と、
この光源からの光を前記光放出パネル内に結合させる少なくとも1つの光入力構造体と
が設けられ、動作中、光源から生じる光が光入力構造体に入射されて光放出パネル内に分布されるようになっている照明システムに関するものである。
本発明は更に、この照明システムが設けられた表示装置にも関するものである。
前記光入力構造体は前記光源の方向に向かって錐体状又は切頭錐体状となっており、
前記光放出パネルの厚さdp は前記光源の透光性レンズ状カバーの直径dc よりも薄くなっていることを特徴とする。
図1は、本発明による照明システムの一実施例を有する表示装置の断面図である。この照明システムは光透過材料より成る光放出パネル1を有する。このパネル1は、例えば、合成樹脂、例えば、アクリルや、ポリカーボネートや、パースペクス(Perspex )のようなポリメチルメタクリレートから、又はガラスから製造されている。動作中、光は全反射(TIR)を利用して光放出パネル1を透過する。光放出パネル1は前面壁2とその反対側の後面壁3とを有している。図1では、透光性レンズ状カバー8が設けられた発光ダイオード7を有する少なくとも1つの光源6が設けられている。照明システムは、光を光源6から光放出パネル1内に結合させる少なくとも1つの光入力構造体4を有する。動作中、光源6から生じる光は光入力構造体4に入射され、光放出パネル1内に分布される。本発明によれば、光入力構造体4を光源6に向けて錐体又は切頭錐体状にする。
Claims (10)
- 前面壁及びその反対側の後面壁を有する光放出パネルと、
透光性レンズ状カバーが設けられた発光ダイオードを有する少なくとも1つの光源と、
この光源からの光を前記光放出パネル内に結合させる少なくとも1つの光入力構造体と
が設けられ、動作中、光源から生じる光が光入力構造体に入射されて光放出パネル内に分布されるようになっている照明システムにおいて、
前記光入力構造体は前記光源の方向に向かって錐体状又は切頭錐体状となっており、
前記光放出パネルの厚さdp は前記光源の透光性レンズ状カバーの直径dc よりも薄くなっていることを特徴とする照明システム。 - 請求項1に記載の照明システムにおいて、前記光入力構造体がプリズム状又はピラミッド状となっていることを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の照明システムにおいて、前記光入力構造体は前記光放出パネルと一体を成す部分であることを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の照明システムにおいて、前記光源及び光放出パネルの付近に前記光入力構造体を囲むように光案内手段が設けられ,この光案内手段により、光源から生じる光を光入力構造体の方向に案内するようにしたことを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項4に記載の照明システムにおいて、光入力構造体に面する光案内手段の面が反射性となっているか、又はこの面に反射性材料が設けられていることを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項4又は5に記載の照明システムにおいて、前記光案内手段が楕円形状をしていることを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項4又は5に記載の照明システムにおいて、前記光案内手段がフェーセット状を成していることを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の照明システムにおいて、前記発光ダイオードの光束が少なくとも10ルーメンであることを特徴とする照明システム。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の照明システムが設けられた表示装置。
- 液晶ディスプレイを有する請求項9に記載の表示装置。
