Claims (10)
- リング状コレットであって、
内壁と、外壁と、前記コレットの幅だけ離隔した第1エンドおよび第2エンドと、
前記幅を部分的に横切って前記第1エンドから前記第2エンドへ向かって延びる、少なくとも2つの等しく離隔する、前記内壁から外壁までのスロットと、前記幅を部分的に横切って前記第2エンドから前記第1エンドに向かって延びる、少なくとも2つの等しく離隔する、前記内壁から外壁までのスロットと、から成り、前記第1エンド内のスロットの数は、前記第2エンド内のスロットの数に等しく、前記第1エンドからのスロットは、前記第2エンドからのスロットの間に概ね等しく配置されており、
前記内壁は、伝送線路ケーブルを収容するサイズに設定された直径を形成し、
前記外壁は、前記第1エンド直近の最大直径から、前記第2エンド直近の最小直径までテーパが付けられた直径を有し、
変形可能材料から形成されたリング状コレット。 - 前記変形可能材料は金属である請求項1に記載のリング状コレット。
- 前記変形可能材料は真鍮である請求項2に記載のリング状コレット。
- 前記内壁はリッジを含む請求項1に記載のリング状コレット。
- 前記第1エンドから前記第2エンドに向かって4つのスロットが延びており、前記第2エンドから前記第1エンドへ向かって4つのスロットが延びている請求項1に記載のリング状コレット。
- 前記コレットの上から嵌り込むサイズに設定されたリング状リア・シールを更に含み、前記リア・シールは、直径がほぼ一定の外側面と、第1エンド直近の大きい直径から第2エンド直近の小さい直径までテーパが付けられた内側面とを有し、前記内側面は、前記コレットの前記第2エンドの直径より小さく、前記ケーブルの周囲に嵌り込むのに充分な大きさの直径を形成する前記内壁から内側へ突出するショルダを含み、前記ショルダは、前記第1エンドから、前記コレットの幅より小さい距離だけ離隔している、請求項1に記載のリング状コレット。
- 伝送線路コネクタをケーブルに取り付けるための圧縮リング・アッセンブリであって、
第1エンドおよび第2エンドを有し、変形可能な材料から形成されたリング状コレットであり、前記エンドは前記コレットの幅によって離隔しており、前記第1エンドから前記第2エンドに向かって延びて部分的に前記幅を横切り前記コレットを通る少なくとも2つの等しく離隔したスロットと、前記第2エンドから前記第1エンドへ向かって延びて部分的に前記幅を横切り前記コレットを通る少なくとも2つの等しく離隔したスロットと、を含み、前記第1エンド内のスロット数は前記第2エンド内のスロット数に等しく、前記第1エンドからのスロットは前記第2エンドからのスロットの間に概ね等しく配置されている、リング状コレットと、
前記コレット上に嵌るサイズに設定されたリング状リア・シールであり、直径がほぼ一定の外側面と、第1エンドの直近の大きい直径から第2エンド直近の小さい直径までテーパが付けられた内側面と、を有し、前記内側面は、前記コレットの前記第2エンドの直径より小さく、前記ケーブル周囲に嵌り込むのに充分な大きさの直径を形成する前記内壁から内側へ突出するショルダと、を含み、前記ショルダは、前記第1エンドから前記コレットの幅より小さい距離だけ離隔する、リング状リア・シールと、
前記ケーブル周囲に嵌り込むサイズに設定され、ショルダを有するねじ付きスリーブと、
前記リア・シールの外径上から嵌り込むサイズに設定された直径を有する円筒状内側面と、前記内側面から内側に突出し、前記リア・シールの外側面より小さい直径を形成するレッジを有するエンドキャップであり、前記スリーブのねじと係合するねじが付けられたエンドキャップと、から成り、
前記コレットは、前記リア・シールの前記内側面の前記大きい直径より小さく、前記リア・シールの前記内側面の前記小さい直径より大きい直径を有する、圧縮リング・アッセンブリ。 - 伝送線路コネクタをケーブルのエンドに取り付ける方法であって、
前記ケーブルの周囲にねじ付きエンドキャップを配置するステップであり、前記ねじ付きエンドキャップは、内壁からケーブルへ向かって内側に突出するショルダを有する、配置ステップと、
前記ケーブルの周囲の、前記ケーブルの前記エンドと前記エンドキャップとの間にリア・シールを配置するステップであり、前記リア・シールは、第1エンドの直近のより大きい直径、第2エンドの直近のより小さい直径、および前記第1エンドから前記第2エンドまでのテーパを形成する、前記第2エンドから内側へ向かい、前記リア・シールから突出するショルダを伴う内壁を含んでおり、前記ショルダは、前記第1エンドからコレットの幅より小さい距離を軸方向に離隔されており、前記第2エンドが前記エンドキャップへ向けられる、配置ステップと、
前記ケーブルの周囲の、前記ケーブルの前記エンドと前記リア・シールとの間に、大きい直径の第1エンドから小さい直径の第2エンドまでテーパが付けられた外壁および幅を含み、前記第1エンドから前記第2エンドへ向かう前記深さを部分的に横断して延びる複数のスロットおよび前記第2エンドから前記第1エンドへ向かう前記幅を部分的に横断して延びる複数のスロットを伴うコレットを配置する配置ステップと、
前記ケーブルの周囲の、前記ケーブルの前記エンドと前記コレットの間にねじ付きスリーブを配置するステップであり、前記ねじ付きスリーブは、前記コレットに向かう前記スリーブのエンドに形成されたショルダを有する、配置ステップと、
前記コレットの前記第1エンドを、前記ねじ付きスリーブの前記ショルダに対してスライドさせるスライドステップと、
前記リア・シールの前記第1エンドを、前記コレットの前記第2エンドを越えてスライドさせるスライドステップと、
前記ねじ付きエンドキャップを前記ねじ付きスリーブの周囲にスライドさせて前記ねじ付きスリーブと螺合させる螺合ステップと、
前記ねじ付きエンドキャップおよび前記ねじ付きスリーブが互いに引き合い、前記ねじ付きエンドキャップの前記ショルダが前記リア・シールの第2エンドと係合し、前記リア・シールの前記第1エンドを前記コレットの前記第1エンドへ向けて押し、前記リア・シールの前記内壁の前記テーパおよび前記コレットの前記外壁の前記テーパの協働が前記ケーブルの周囲で前記コレットをつぶすように前記ねじ付きエンドキャップを回転するステップと、
から成る取り付け方法。 - 前記ねじ付きエンドキャップの前記回転は、前記コレットの前記第2エンドが前記リア・シールの前記内壁から延びる前記ショルダと係合したときに停止される請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ねじ付きエンドキャップの前記回転は、所定のトルク仕様に達したときに停止される請求項8に記載の方法。
