Description
高い値のMは、酸素に対するよりも一酸化炭素に対する方が親和力が大きいことを表す。
Yは有機または無機アニオンを表し、αは整数または小数であって、式(II)が電気的に中性であることを表す。

a)−ジピロメタンからの合成
図3に表される合成は、2つの等価のカルボキシピロールと適切なジピロメタンとを酸触媒と共に縮合することによって行われる。ビラジエン「a−c」タイプの中間体は、容易に得られ、この中間体は、コロールを形成するための酸化反応に供される前に塩基の作用下で環化される。3,4
b)−直接合成
ある条件下で、コロール大環状化合物を単一の工程で直接合成し得る。この反応5は、図4で表され、溶媒を使用せずに行われ、アルミナタイプの固体触媒の存在下で行われる。
この方法は、図5で表され、酸性媒体中、メタノールで、ジピロメタンとジピリルスルフィドとを一緒にすることにある。中間体化合物は、「メソ」チア大環状化合物であり、その構造は、β−ピロール位の置換基の性質に依存する。硫黄の押し出しが、ジクロロベンゼン中、トリフェニルホスフィンの存在中で加熱分解することにより得られる。しかしながら、この合成ルートは、目下、高い収率でコロールを得られるものではない。
a)−コロールの金属化
図6に表されるコロールの金属化は、環流で、CHCl3/CH3OH混合物中で、コバルトジアセテートにより容易に行われる。
他の方法は、図7に表され、コバルトイオン7-9のテンプレート効果を利用してコバルト錯体を直接得る。しかし、この方法論は、錯体へのアクセスを必要条件とし、その中心元素は、一酸化炭素の後続の配位を部分的に抑制し得る、軸方向のホスフィンリガンドをもたらす。
a)−錯体類の選択
一酸化炭素と酸素の性質を調べるために例として選択された3つのコバルト錯体を図8に表す。Co(III)の一酸化炭素に対する親和性は、ルイス酸金属に存在する電子密度に依存する。金属イオンが(コロールの電子を失った置換基の存在により)電子を消耗するほど、一酸化炭素に対するその親和性は増大する。その結果、コロールIIIは、コロールI及びコロールIIと比較して、一酸化炭素に対する、高い親和性を有するものと予測される。コロールI、II、及びIIIの反応性のスケールは、第1に、半飽和分圧P1/2(CO)の測定、第2に、CO結合の赤外線振動の周波数の測定によって確認される。
種々の錯体によるCO吸着を、ASAP 2010 マイクロメータ装置で21℃で測定した。得られた実験データは、ラングミュア法に従った非線形調整によって処理した。
錯体Iは、固体状態で、一酸化炭素を固定しない。一酸化炭素の吸着が、単なるCo(III)の本質のせいではあり得ないことを証明しているので、その結果は特に重要である。この観察は、文献上の結果と一致し、Co(III)錯体を用いた一酸化炭素の配位は証明されていなかった。この場合、錯体Iは、Co(III)−CO結合の形成を可能にさせるために十分なルイス酸性を十分に持っていない。
錯体IIによる一酸化炭素の吸着等温式を図11に表す。ある一雰囲気における一酸化炭素の全容量は4.11cm3g-1すなわち分子の位置部位の数の10%の収量である。この結果は、固体化合物中のCo(III)部位のアクセス可能性が乏しいことと一致している。例えばラングミュア−ブロジェット型のフィルムにおけるコロールの分散、あるいはシリカまたは有機ポリマー型の固体担体上の錯体の固定は、その部位をよりアクセス可能にさせる。しかしながら、センサー型の適用の場合、吸着されたCOの量は何であっても、センサーの検出限度はCO分圧によって測定され、そのCO分圧から、コロール上のガスの化学吸着がおこる。コロールIIは、低ガス圧でCOを固定する。その熱力学的定数を、非線形最小平方調整(nonlinear least squares adjustment)法により、2つのラングミュア等温式を用いて測定した(図12)。2つのラングミュア等温式から、実験値と計算された等温式との間の非常に良好な整合が得られた。これは結果として、第1のラングミュア等温式について、P1/2(CO)は20.6Torrであり、COに対して錯体IIの親和性が良好であることを示す。この等温式は、容易にアクセス可能なCo(III)部位のCOの化学吸着を表し、一方、第2のラングミュア等温式は、アクセスが困難な部位上のガスの拡散及び吸着の両方を説明する。このことは、第2の等温式のP1/2(CO)がこの場合1303Torrであり、非常に高いことによる。その後、第1のラングミュア等温式に関するP1/2(CO)だけを考慮する。COの吸着は、確かに、コバルト原子における化学吸着の現象に相当することに気づくことは重要である。このため、図13で表され、ガスを固定するその位置部位が2つのイミダゾール分子によってブロックされるコロールIVに関するCOの吸着の特性を調べた。コロールIVは、850TorrのCO圧でさえ、一酸化炭素を固定しない。この化合物の赤外スペクトルは、金属に固定されたCOの振動吸収帯特性を示さない。これらの2つの結果は、コロールII中で、COが確かにCo(III)結合していることを確認させる。一酸化炭素検出器として適用する目的で、ガスを固定するプロセスは可逆的であることが必要である。10-3Torrで12時間、化合物II/COを脱ガスした後、第2の等温式が記録された。この等温式及び第1の吸着に相当する等温式は、図14に表される。第2のサイクル後に吸着されたCOの量が、第1のサイクル後に計測されたCOの量と同等であることから、この図は、COに関するシステムが完全な可逆性であることを示している。この完全な可逆性は、化合物II/COの拡散反射モードにおける赤外分析によって確認される(図15)。赤外分析は、システムの良好な可逆性を確認させる。このことは、図15中、錯体が再び空気に曝されるとき(スペクトル1ないし5)、COを徐々に脱着することが確かに観察されることによる。この脱着は、システム中のCO分圧の減少の結果である。赤外の2045cm-1で吸収帯が現れない(スペクトル6)ことから、その後、コロールIIを3Torrで5分以上脱ガスするとき、完全なものになる。
図16は、コロールIIIの一酸化炭素の吸着等温式、及び2つのラングミュア等温式で得られる調整を表す。前述の化合物については、実験値と2つのラングミュア等温式から得られる調整との間の非常に良好な適合が観察される。P1/2(CO)の第1の値は2.85Torrであり、このことはCOに対する錯体IIIの優れた親和性を示す。この結果を、コロールIIで得られる結果(P1/2(CO)=20.6Torr)と比べると、コロールIIと比較して、コロールIIIのCOに対する親和性が増加されていることが観察される。このことは、Co(III)原子が電子を減少させる(図9参照)この錯体に対するCOの親和性がより良好であるという仮説を確認させる。このため、一酸化炭素に対する親和性が、コロール大環状化合物の周囲に、さらに電子を奪う置換基あるいは余り電子を奪わない置換基を添加することにより、所望のように調整され得る。また、CO吸着の可逆性は、コロールIIIに対する4回以上の吸着−脱着サイクルでテストした。対応する等温式は図17に表される。吸着−脱着サイクルの間、部分的な可逆性が観察される。850TorrにおけるCO吸着の全量は、第1の2つのサイクルについて5.22−5.34cm3・g-1、第3及び第4のサイクルについて3.80−3.98cm3・g-1である。この結果は、おそらく、一酸化炭素に対する高い親和性を与える第2及び第3のサイクル間に全ての部位がフリーになったわけではないと説明され得る。しかしながら、そのサイクルのP1/2(CO)値は余り良くないことが指摘されるべきである。この部分的可逆性は、化合物III/COの拡散反射モードにおける赤外分析によって確認される。3Torrでの5分間の脱ガスの後でさえ、2078.8cm-1(CO振動に関する)における吸収帯は完全には消えなかった。このことは、明らかに、コロールIII/COの場合、Co(III)−CO吸収帯の強さを表している。
一酸化炭素を固定する性質を有する多くの分子が知られているけれども、全ての場合において、酸素も固定する。選択性がない(検出器としての用途に必要)ことは、周囲環境におけるCO検出のプロセスのためにそれらを使用することを不可能にさせる。さらに、O2またはCOを配位結合し得ることで知られるコバルトまたは鉄錯体は、酸素及び水分の存在のため、空気中で徐々に不安定となる。このため、その検出器としての適用は、困難である。コロールIIのCO、O2、及びN2吸着等温式は、図18に表される。これらは、下記の事項を表す。
図1に、鉄原子が配位結合されたイミダゾール型の塩基を有するピケット−フェンス鉄(II)ポルフィリンの構造((To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im))を表した。COまたはO2は、ポルフィリンの空洞11における鉄(II)空いている部位に配位結合する。このポルフィリン錯体は、酸素1,10,12,13を可逆的に配位結合することから、事実、最近、ミオグロビンとヘモグロビンの最高の合成モデルの1つである。この配位結合は、金属から酸素への電子の移動を含み、このため、スーパーオキシドアニオンを生じ、鉄(II)から鉄(III)への外形上の酸化を引き起こす。このように、酸素分子を固定し得る金属中心は、空の配位部位及び低い酸化度を持っていなくてはならない。一方で、遠位の空洞(塩基と反対の配位部位)の存在により、他方では、ピバロイルピケットとスーパーオキジドアニオンのアミド基間の空洞に水素結合が存在することにより、酸化された本体の形成が安定化される。酸素と二酸化炭素に関するこれらの錯体の選択性は、大いに変化し得る。上述したように、この分子は、溶液中でCOに対する高い親和性を持つ化合物の1つである。それは、溶液中の酸素も固定するけれども、強くはない。この錯体によるCOとO2の固定に関する熱力学的定数の値は、下記表1に上げられる。
図20は、(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)についての固体状態における一酸化炭素の吸着等温式及び2つのラングミュア等温式で得られる調整を表す。0.63TorrのP1/2(CO)値は、第1のラングミュア等温式で計算され、COに対する(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)の優れた親和性を示していた。コロール錯体の場合のように、第2のラングミュア等温式は、余りアクセスし得ない部位のガスの拡散と吸着の両方を説明する。しかしながら、P1/2(CO)値は、23Torrと比較的低い。このことは、このCOに対し「余りアクセスし得ない」部位の良好な親和性を反映している。P=850Torrにおける合計の吸着量は、9.29cm3.g-1は、活性部位の50%を表す。(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)のCOに関する可逆性も調べた(図21,サイクル1−3)。比較的緩やかな脱ガス条件(50℃)下で、(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)に対するCOの固定は、完全な可逆性ではない(図21,サイクル1−3)。このことは、鉄とCOの間に存在する非常に強い結合によって、説明される。他方では、120℃における12時間の脱ガスの後、合計の吸着量は第1のサイクルで得られたものよりわずかに多い(等温式1及び4)。4サイクルの間、P1/2(CO)値は、0.3ないし0.6Torrであることを類意すべきである。Fe−CO結合の高い安定性は、(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)の拡散反射モードにおける赤外分析によって確認される(図22)。Fe−CO結合を有する化合物について、CO振動吸収帯に相当する吸収帯は、低周波数で現れ、このことは、金属から配位子にπ電子が非常に顕著に逆供与されることから、Fe−CO吸収帯が強いことを示す。
図23は、固体状態における(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)に対する酸素の吸着等温式及び2つのラングミュア等温式で得られる調整を表す。34.2TorrのP1/2(CO)値は、第1のラングミュア等温式から計算され、O2に対する化合物の良好な親和性を示していた。この親和性は、CO(P1/2(CO)=0.63Torrよりも顕著に低い(図23)。溶液で得られるものと一致する挙動は、ここで、明らかに、再び対抗する。P=850Torrにおける吸着量の合計は、9.29cm3.g-1(COについて得られたものと同等な結果)であり、活性部位の50%を表す。同様に、O2に関する(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)の可逆性を調べた(図24参照)。一酸化炭素について観察されたことと対称的に、各サイクル間で合計の吸着量はほとんど減少しないことから、酸素についての可逆性はより良好になることがわかる。このことは、O2と鉄の間の弱い結合によって説明され、このとき、緩やかな脱ガス条件は、O2の脱着に十分である。真空下で加熱することにより、完全な可逆性が得られる。
コバルト(III)について及び(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)ついて得られた値を表2に示す。
コロールによって吸着される酸素は、物理吸着に対応することを覚えておくべきである。逆に、(To−PivPP)Fe(1,2−Me2Im)について、鉄及びO2間の化学結合が含まれる。しかしながら、物理吸着されたO2を考慮しても、コロールIIIは、ポルフィリンについて得られるものよりも、顕著に良好な選択性を表す。さらに、それは、空気中で処理され得、水分の存在中で分解しない。その結果は、先例はなく、種々の分野の適用における、特に、一酸化炭素検出器におけるこのような分子の将来性を実証する。

(iii)−コロールIIIの合成
a)シリカへのグラフト化
シリカへのグラフト化は、以下の反応プロセスに従って、官能化されたアームを介して、シリカゲルのフリーのシラノール官能基に、金属化された、または金属化されないコロール大環状化合物を固定することによって起こる。
ゾル−ゲル材料を以下の方法で進行することにより合成する。
メソ位(Ra、Rb、及びRc)で、トリアルコキシル末端を有するスペーサーにより、一、二、または三置換されたコロールまたは金属化コロールの重縮合(スキーム3)。
テトラアルコキシシランを用いて、トリアルコキシル末端を有するアームにより、メソ位(Ra、Rb、及びRc)で一、二、または三置換されたコロールまたは金属化コロールの共重合(コゲル(cogel)の形成)(スキーム3)。
この種の材料は、1992年にBeckによって発見され、MST(Mesoporous Template Silica)として知られ、及びHMS(Hexagonal Mesoporous Silica)またはMSUとして知られるこの種の2つの代表的なものが、我々の要求に相応する。HMSまたはMSUは、例えばC8ないしC18の第一アミン(HMS)またはポリエチレン酸化物(MSU)等の中性界面活性剤の存在下で、加水分解可能な先駆物質を共重合することによって用意される。構成する薬剤は、エタノール抽出により容易に除去できる。このような界面活性剤の除去は、均一な平均径を有する六角形の溝を開放し、種々の分子に対する顕著なアクセス可能性をもたらす。材料の空孔内のコロールユニットの固定は、トリアルコキシシラン末端を含む序列によって一または二官能化された大環状化合物を、材料の遊離シラノール基と反応させることにより行われ得る(スキーム4,図28)。

- 下記式(I)の化合物。
R5、R6、R7、及びR8は、同一または異なるもので、互いに独立した、水素原子、または1ないし4の炭素原子を含む直鎖及び分枝鎖アルキルラジカルであり、
Ra、Rb、及びRcは、同一または異なるもので、互いに独立した水素原子、置換されないフェニルラジカル、あるいはビニル、ヒドロキシル、ニトロ、シアノ、カルボキシル、アミノ、ブロモ、クロロ、フルオロ、ヨードまたはベンジルオキシラジカルから選択される1またはそれ以上の互いに独立した同一または異なる基で置換されたフェニルラジカル、1ないし4の炭素原子を含む直鎖または分枝鎖アルキルオキシラジカルを表し、かつアルキル及びアルキルオキシラジカル自体は、置換されないか、あるいは1またはそれ以上のブロモ、クロロ、フルオロ、及びヨード基で置換されているか、

前記Ra,Rb,またはRc基の少なくとも1つは、置換されないフェニルラジカルまたは置換されたフェニルラジカルを表し、式(I)の分子または式(II’)のカチオンのシリカゲルへの固定を可能にさせるスペーサーアーム(spacer arms)の導入によって得られ、前記スペーサーアームは、二価ラジカルであり、一方では、Ra,Rb,またはRc基の少なくとも1つで表される1またはそれ以上のフェニルラジカルの2−、3−、または4−位の1つを介して、前記化合物に結合され、他方では、共有結合Si−Oを介して、シリカゲルの1またはそれ以上の遊離シラノール官能基に結合されることを特徴とする改質されたシリカ。 - 1またはそれ以上の共有結合Si−O及びフェニルラジカルの2−、3−、または4−位に関与するケイ素原子と結合する二価ラジカルは、下記二価ラジカル:
−CH=CH−,−NH−(CH2)n−,−O−(CH2)m−または−NH(C=O)−CH2−NH−(CH2)p−
から選択され、
式中、n,m及びpは、同一または異なり、0またはそれよりも大きく、4またはそれよりも小さい整数を表す請求項11に記載の改質されたシリカ。 - 請求項1ないし8のいずれか1項に記載の式(I)の化合物または請求項9または10に記載の式(II)の化合物から誘導される材料であって、式中、3つのRa,Rb,及びRc基は、置換されないフェニルラジカルまたは置換されたフェニルラジカルを表し、フェニルラジカルの2−、3−、または4−位が、末端基:
−Si(OR14)3
を有する一価ラジカルで置換され、R14はメチルラジカル、エチルラジカル、またはイソプロピルラジカルを表すことを特徴とする材料。 - −Si(OR14)3末端基を有する一価ラジカルは下記ラジカル:
−CH=CH−−Si(OR14)3、−NH−(CH2)n−Si(OR14)3、−O−(CH2)m−Si(OR14)3、または−NH(C=O)−CH2−NH−(CH2)p−Si(OR14)3
から選択され、
式中、n,m及びpは、同一または異なり、互いに独立し、0またはそれよりも大きく、4またはそれよりも小さい整数を表し、R14はメチルラジカル、エチルラジカル、またはイソプロピルラジカルを表す請求項13に記載の材料。 - 請求項1ないし8のいずれか1項に記載の式(I)の化合物または請求項9または10に記載の式(II)の化合物によって改質されたメソポーラス(mesoporous)シリカであって、式中、Ra、Rb、及びRc基の少なくとも1つは、置換されないフェニルラジカルまたは置換されたフェニルラジカルを表し、式(I)の分子または式(II’)のカチオンのメソポーラスシリカへの固定を可能にさせるスペーサーアーム(spacer arms)は二価ラジカルであり、一方では、Ra、Rb、及びRc基の少なくとも1つで表されるフェニルラジカルの1またはいくつかの2−、3−、または4−位の1つを介して、前記化合物に結合され、他方では、他方では、共有結合Si−Oを介して、メソポーラスシリカの1またはそれ以上の遊離シラノール官能基に結合されることを特徴とする改質されたメソポーラスシリカ。
- 1またはそれ以上の共有結合Si−O及びフェニルラジカルの2−、3−、または4−位に関与するケイ素原子と結合する二価ラジカルは、下記二価ラジカル:
−CH=CH−,−NH−(CH2)n−,−O−(CH2)m−または−NH(C=O)−CH2−NH−(CH2)p−
から選択され、
式中、n,m及びpは、同一または異なり、互いに独立し、0またはそれよりも大きく、4またはそれよりも小さい整数を表す請求項15に記載の改質されたメソポーラスシリカ。 - 一酸化炭素を含むガス混合物から一酸化炭素を分離する方法であり、前記混合物を、請求項9ないし16のいずれか一項に記載の、上記式(II)の化合物、または式(II)の化合物で改質されたシリカ、または式(II)の化合物のゾル−ゲル材料、または式(II)の化合物で改質されたメソポーラスシリカと接触することを特徴とする方法。
- 当該雰囲気中、湿気のある空気中の一酸化炭素を検出するために使用されることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- この混合物を生じる工業化学のプロセス中で、水素と一酸化炭素を分離するために使用されることを特徴とする請求項18に記載の方法。
