Abstract
【解決手段】 ヘッダ単位は、前記集合体フレームの1つまたは複数のデータ単位に適用可能なMACヘッダ情報を搬送する。集合体フレームの各データ単位は、完全なMACヘッダ情報を搬送する必要がもはやないので、MACヘッダに関連するオーバーヘッドは、著しく低減されることができる。受信器において、データ単位に対応する完全なMACヘッダは、(i)適切なヘッダ単位およびデータ単位を互いに整合させること、ならびに(ii)ヘッダ単位およびデータ単位の圧縮ヘッダ部分に存在する情報を組み合わせることとによって再構築される。本発明の実施形態は、たとえば、比較的大量のデータが対化ソースから行先デバイスに流される対化ソースおよび行先デバイス(たとえば、DVDプレーヤおよびLCDスクリーン)を有する娯楽ネットワークにおいて、データ・スループットを向上させることができる。

Description
他の実施形態によれば、本発明は、受信デバイスによってパケットを処理する方法であり、方法は、1つまたは複数のサブフレームに対応する集合体フレームを有するパケットを受信することを備え、集合体フレームは、ヘッダ単位、および各サブフレームについてデータ単位を備え、ヘッダ単位は、1つまたは複数のサブフレームに適用可能なヘッダ情報を有し、データ単位は、圧縮ヘッダ部分およびペイロード・データ部分を有し、さらに、ヘッダ単位およびデータ単位に基づいて、1つまたは複数のサブフレームの対応するサブフレームを再構築することを備える。
Claims (10)
- 1つまたは複数のサブフレームについて集合体フレームを生成する方法であって、
(a)前記1つまたは複数のサブフレームの第1セットのヘッダからヘッダ単位を生成するステップであって、前記ヘッダ単位が、前記第1セットの各サブフレームに適用可能なヘッダ情報を有するステップと、
(b)前記第1セットの各サブフレームについて、圧縮ヘッダ部分およびペイロード・データ部分を有するデータ単位を生成するステップと、
(c)生成されたヘッダ単位およびデータ単位を含む前記集合体フレームを生成するステップと、を備える、方法。 - ステップ(b)において各サブフレームについて、
前記圧縮ヘッダ部分が、前記サブフレームに適用可能なヘッダ情報を有し、
前記ペイロード・データ部分が、前記サブフレームのユーザ・データを有し、また、
前記第1セットのすべてのサブフレームが、単一持続時間について意図され、
前記第1セットの各サブフレームについて、前記圧縮ヘッダ部分および前記ヘッダ単位が合わせて、前記サブフレームの前記ヘッダ情報のすべてを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ヘッダ単位を少なくとも1回複製するステップをさらに備え、ステップ(c)が、前記ヘッダ単位の少なくとも1つのコピーが、すべての対応するデータ単位に先行するように、前記ヘッダ単位およびデータ単位の位置を順序付けする処理を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ステップ(c)が、
前記ヘッダ単位および前記データ単位からシーケンスを生成する処理と、
各2つの隣接単位間にデリミタを挿入する処理とを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ヘッダ単位および前記圧縮ヘッダ部分のそれぞれが、前記ヘッダ単位を前記集合体フレームの前記対応するデータ単位の1つまたは複数に整合させることを可能にするヘッダ・アイデンティティ(HID)フィールドを有し、
前記ヘッダ単位が、単位のタイプをヘッダタイプ単位として示すフレーム制御フィールドを備え、
前記ヘッダ単位が、ユーザ・データを有さず、
前記圧縮ヘッダ部分が、単位のタイプをデータタイプ単位として示すフレーム制御フィールドを備え、前記圧縮ヘッダ部分が、前記第1セットの他のサブフレームに対する前記サブフレームの位置を示すシーケンス制御フィールドをさらに備え、
前記ヘッダ単位および前記データ単位のそれぞれが、前記単位のエラー検出/補正情報を有するフレーム・チェック・シーケンス(FCS)を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記1つまたは複数のサブフレームが、2つ以上のサブフレームを備え、
前記1つまたは複数のフレームの1つまたは複数の追加のセットのそれぞれについて、ステップ(a)および(b)を反復する処理と、
各サブセットについて、前記ヘッダ単位および前記データ単位からシーケンスを生成する処理と、
前記集合体フレームを形成するために、生成されたシーケンスを連結する処理と、
前記集合体フレームを使用して、物理層パケットを形成し、前記物理層パケットを形成する処理が、パケット・プリアンブルおよびパケット・ヘッダを前記集合体フレームに添付する処理を有することとをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 受信デバイスによってパケットを処理する方法であって、
1つまたは複数のサブフレームに対応する集合体フレームを有するパケットを受信する処理を備え、
前記集合体フレームが、ヘッダ単位、および各サブフレームについてデータ単位を備え、
前記ヘッダ単位が、1つまたは複数のサブフレームに適用可能なヘッダ情報を有し、
前記データ単位が、圧縮ヘッダ部分およびペイロード・データ部分を有し、さらに、
前記ヘッダ単位および前記データ単位に基づいて、前記1つまたは複数のサブフレームの前記対応するサブフレームを再構築する処理を有する、方法。 - 前記圧縮ヘッダ部分が、前記サブフレームに特有の前記ヘッダ情報を有し、
前記ペイロード・データ部分が、前記サブフレームの前記ユーザ・データを有し、
前記ヘッダ単位の前記ヘッダ情報が、1つまたは複数のサブフレームのヘッダに共通の情報である、請求項7に記載の方法。 - 前記ヘッダ単位および前記圧縮ヘッダ部分のそれぞれが、ヘッダ・アイデンティティ(HID)フィールドを有し、
前記方法が、前記HIDフィールドの前記値を使用して、前記ヘッダ単位を前記対応するデータに整合させる処理を有し、
前記ヘッダ単位および前記データ単位のそれぞれが、前記単位のタイプを示すフレーム制御フィールドを備え、
前記方法が、前記フレーム制御フィールドの前記値に基づいて、書く単位のタイプを識別する処理を有し、
前記ヘッダ単位および前記データ単位のそれぞれが、前記単位のエラー検出/補正情報を有するフレーム・チェック・シーケンス(FCS)を備え、
前記方法が、前記ヘッダ単位およびデータ単位のそれぞれについて、前記エラー検出/補正情報に基づいて1つまたは複数のエラーを補正する処理を有し、
前記圧縮ヘッダ部分が、前記1つまたは複数のサブフレームの他のサブフレームに関して、前記対応するサブフレームの位置を示すシーケンス制御フィールドを備える、請求項7に記載の方法。 - 前記方法が、集積回路(IC)のプロセッサにおいてステップとして実施され、前記ICが、IEEE802.11規格に従って動作するデバイスにおいて実現される、請求項7に記載の方法。
