Abstract
【解決手段】二重像の発生を抑制するための光拡散層18を視野角補償板19と反射層41との間に配置する。この構成により、反射層41の外側に配置されたバックライト4から発せられた光は、光拡散層18でその進行方向が変更されるものの、視野角補償板19に一旦入射した後は、視野角補償板19、液晶層3において進行方向が変更されることはなく、透過光は鉛直方向、斜め方向のいずれにおいても直進する。これにより、透過光が直進することを前提に設計された液晶層3の液晶分子と視野角補償板19の液晶分子のそれぞれの配向状態においては、視野角補償板19は本来の位相差を補償する機能を発揮できることとなる。

Claims (5)
- 対向して配置された一対の透明基板と、
前記一対の透明基板の間に配置された液晶層と、
前記一対の透明基板の外側に配置された一対の偏光板と、
一方の偏光板の外側に配置された反射層と、
前記反射層が設けられた側の偏光板と透明基板との間に配置された視野角補償板と、
当該透明基板と前記視野角補償板との間ではなく、前記視野角補償板と前記反射層との間に配置された光拡散層と、
を有することを特徴とする液晶表示素子。 - 前記光拡散層は、前記反射層が設けられた側の偏光板と前記視野角補償板との間に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示素子。
- 前記反射層が設けられた側の偏光板と前記視野角補償板との間に1/2波長板を備え、
前記光拡散層は、前記視野角補償板と前記1/2波長板との間に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示素子。 - 前記反射層が設けられた側の偏光板と前記視野角補償板との間に1/2波長板を備え、
前記光拡散層は、前記1/2波長板と当該偏光板との間に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示素子。 - 前記反射層が設けられた側の偏光板と前記反射層との間に輝度向上フィルム層を備え、
前記光拡散層は、当該偏光板と当該輝度向上フィルム層との間に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示素子。
