Abstract

Claims (10)
- 担体と、
1つ以上のモノマー種を含む複数のモノマーから形成されるポリマーコーティングであって、前記1つ以上のモノマー種の少なくとも1つがアミン官能基を有する、ポリマーコーティングと、
を含んで成り、前記ポリマーコーティングが前記担体に共有結合している、インクジェット印刷用媒体。 - 前記1つ以上のモノマー種の1つが、任意に部分的にメチル化されたエチレンイミン又はエチレンオキサイドである、請求項1記載の媒体。
- 前記担体が、アルミナ、ベーマイト、又はシリカから成る群から選択される1つの材料でコーティングされた基材を含み、該基材が、コート紙、未コート紙、レジンコート紙及びプラスチックフィルムからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 前記担体が、アルミナ、ベーマイト、又はシリカから成る群から選択される複数の粒子を含み、該粒子が、コート紙、未コート紙、レジンコート紙及びプラスチックフィルムからなる群から選択される基材によって支持される、請求項1記載の媒体。
- ジイソシアナート、ジエポキシド、グリオキサール、グルタルアルデヒド、ジカルボキシ酸、ジ(N−アクリルイミダゾール)、又はジ(ビニルスルホン)のような、ポリマーコーティングを架橋させる架橋結合剤をさらに含む、請求項1記載の媒体。
- 前記共有結合が、前記担体に結合した重合開始剤によってもたらされ、前記開始剤が、シリケート、シラン、アミノ酸、チタネート、ジルコネート、及び金属アルコキシドから成る群から選択される官能基を介して前記担体に結合しており、且つ前記開始剤が、アミン、チオール、メルカプト、アルコキシド、カルボキシラート、及び酸化物アニオンから成る群から選択される官能基を介して前記ポリマーコーティングに結合している、請求項1記載の媒体。
- 印刷媒体の吸収率を高める方法であって、
アルミナ、ベーマイト、及びシリカから成る群から選択される材料で媒体をコーティングして酸化物層を設けるステップと、
前記酸化物層の上で1つ以上のモノマー種を重合させるステップと、
を包含し、少なくとも1つのモノマー種が、少なくとも1つのアミン基を含む官能化エチレンモノマーである、方法。 - 前記重合させるステップの前に、前記酸化物層に開始剤を共有結合させるステップをさらに包含し、この場合、前記開始剤が、シリケート、シラン、アミノ酸、チタネート、ジルコネート、及び金属アルコキシドからなる群から選択される官能基を介して前記酸化物層に結合する、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記重合させるステップの前に、求核付加によって前記酸化物層に化学成分を付加するステップをさらに包含し、この場合、前記化学成分が、アミン、チオール、メルカプト、アルコキシド、カルボキシラート、及び酸化物アニオンから成る群から選択される、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記酸化物層が、連続層又は複数の粒子を含む、請求項7記載の方法。
