Abstract
【解決手段】 アセンブリ(12、14)は、大気中において幾何学形状歪みを最小にするのに適した速度で約760℃〜約1090℃の範囲の温度まで、アセンブリ(12、14)の表面上に酸化物層(24)を形成するためにまた随意選択的に溶接前溶体化熱処理として加熱される。次いで、アセンブリの温度は、約760℃〜約1090℃の範囲に、アセンブリの表面上に十分な厚さの酸化物層(24)を形成する。次いで、望ましくない金属相の析出を回避するのに十分な速度で周囲温度まで冷却される。次いで、酸化物層がアセンブリの少なくともフェイング面(16、18)から除去されるが、アセンブリのフェース面(20、22)からは除去されない。

Claims (10)
- 航空機エンジン用物品のための溶接方法であって、
各々がフェイング面(16、18)とフェース面(20、22)とを有しかつ鉄基超合金及びニッケル基超合金からなる群から選ばれた超合金を含む、互いに溶接されて単体構造物品を形成することになる少なくとも2つのアセンブリ(12、14)を準備する段階と、
前記アセンブリ(12、14)を、酸化雰囲気内において該アセンブリ(12、14)の歪みを最小にするような速度で約760℃(1400゜F)〜約1090℃(2000゜F)の範囲の温度まで加熱する段階と、
前記アセンブリ(12、14)を、約760℃〜約1090℃の範囲の温度に該アセンブリの少なくとも前記フェース面(12、14)上に予め選択した厚さの酸化物層(24)が形成されるのに十分な予め選択した時間にわたって保つ段階と、
前記アセンブリ(12、14)を周囲温度まで冷却する段階と、
実質的に酸化物層(24)がない前記アセンブリ(12、14)の少なくともフェイング面(16、18)を得ると同時に、予め選択した厚さ範囲の酸化物層(24)を有する前記アセンブリ(12、14)のフェース面(20、22)を得る段階と、
前記アセンブリ(12、14)をそれらのフェイング面(16、18)が対向するように配置することによって、溶接継手を形成する段階と、
ガスタングテンアーク法を用いて前記アセンブリ(12、14)を溶接して単体構造物品を形成する段階と、
非酸化雰囲気内において前記物品を再溶体化処理及び応力除去処理して、該物品内の応力を除去する段階と、
前記物品を周囲温度まで冷却する段階と、
を含む方法。 - 前記アセンブリ(12、14)を、約760℃〜約1090℃の範囲の温度に該アセンブリの少なくとも前記フェース面(12、14)上に予め選択した厚さの酸化物層(24)が形成されるのに十分な予め選択した時間にわたって保つ前記段階が、前記アセンブリ(12、14)を溶体化処理するのにも十分である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 再溶体化処理及び応力除去処理する前記段階の後に、保護雰囲気内において前記物品をエージング処理する段階をさらに含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記鉄基超合金が、少なくとも約18重量パーセントのクロムパーセント組成及び少なくとも約8重量パーセントのニッケル組成を含み、前記ニッケル基超合金が、少なくとも約50重量パーセントのニッケルパーセント組成及び少なくとも約12重量パーセントのクロム組成を含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 2つの鉄基超合金製アセンブリ(12、14)が準備されかつ互いに溶接される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 2つのニッケル基超合金製アセンブリ(12、14)が準備されかつ互いに溶接される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 2つのインコネル718製アセンブリ(12、14)が準備されかつ互いに溶接される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 第1の超合金製アセンブリ(12)が、0.125インチ〜約0.5インチの厚さを有するI形突合せ継手を用いて、第2の超合金製アセンブリ(14)に溶接される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記I形突合せ継手の厚さが、約0.25インチ〜約0.375インチである、請求項1記載の方法。
- 第1のアセンブリ(12)が、約0.125〜約0.18インチの範囲の厚さを有するI形突合せ継手を用いて、ガスタングステンアーク溶接機の1回のパスを使用して第2のアセンブリ(14)に溶接される、請求項8記載の方法。
