Description

The present invention relates to a novel pest repellent derived from a plant, and more particularly, to an extract containing leaves, flowers, branches, stems or roots as an active ingredient, belonging to the genus Spiraea.

Conventionally, naphthalene, paradichlorbenzol and the like have been widely used as insect repellents and insect repellents. Also, pest repellents such as sprays, gels and foams are widely used outdoors. These can be obtained industrially at low cost and in large quantities. On the other hand, insect repellents and insect repellents derived from natural plants such as camphor, laurel, eucalyptus essential oil and various herbs have been known.

However, carcinogenicity such as paradichlorbenzol has recently become a problem, and diet (N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide), which is very frequently used in insect repellent sprays, is a very effective but strong mutation. It has been found to cause various adverse effects such as sex, headache, eczema and memory impairment. Therefore, the thing derived from natural products, such as a plant, has become popular.

For example, recently, eucalyptus essential oil alone or a mixture of eucalyptus, lemongrass, mint, clove and other essential oils, coniferous sap, herbs and the like have begun to be marketed. However, these essential oil products do not maintain the repellent effect (about 1 to 2 hours after spraying) and are expensive, and the repellent effect is considerably inferior to the above chemical products.

From such a point of view, the present inventor has shown that extracts of Spirae plants exhibit excellent pest repellency while obtaining extracts from various familiar plants and conducting various tests. As a result, the present invention has been completed.

First, for the purpose of preventing the cabbage butterfly that spawns on the cabbage, the present inventor carved the leaves of various plants in the garden and wild mountains that are less damaged by pests, such as bear moths, horns, laurels, and snowy pupae. When I sprayed it on some of them, some of them showed some effect. Therefore, for the purpose of obtaining these extracts, the leaves of these plants were crushed together with water and the extract was placed in a bottle, and most of the plants began to grow mold or rot and gave off an unpleasant odor. However, no such change was seen in the only Yukiyanagi.

Moreover, Yukiya Nagi's extract was found to be difficult to evaporate even if left in a beaker and left under hot weather. Therefore, when an appropriate amount of the extract was dropped on the iron plate and allowed to stand in the same manner, the viscosity increased with the evaporation of water, and finally it became a water tank. It took about 1 to 2 days for the chickenpox to appear. This elutriate material quickly dissolved in water. In addition, this syrup was softened by absorbing moisture when it was wet, such as on a rainy day.

In addition, beakers and moths are less likely to stick around beakers containing this extract, rice and confectionery sprinkled with this solution, and there will be no ants in the vicinity of the spilled liquid. I noticed. This means that the substance contained in the fresh leaves of Yuki and Nagi has an action of suppressing evaporation of water and a repellent action of insects and the like. The same was true for other plants belonging to the genus Spirae, such as Kodama, Shishizu, Shijimi, and other plants. However, the substance is not specified at present. It is also unclear whether it is a single substance or a synergistic effect of multiple substances.

Yukiya nagi, kodama, shimosuke, shijimi, etc. are widely distributed in Japan as wild or garden trees. However, these have no other uses other than loving the flowers themselves as garden trees or flower arrangements, and there is no description in the medicinal plant dictionaries. As far as the present inventor is aware, it has not been known at all that these plant extracts have insect repellent effects. However, after that, it was found that snow and naginae have an antibacterial effect (Patent Documents 1 and 2).

This is also why the extract does not rot. However, these antibacterial components are obtained by extracting fresh leaves, stems, fruits or flowers of Spirae plants with ethanol or butanol and then eluting with ethyl acetate-benzene, and are included when extracted with water. Not. However, since the water extract has a bactericidal effect as well, it is considered that the water extract contains an antibacterial component different from those described in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2.

Provided is a plant-derived pest repellent that is excellent in repellent effect and sustainability of effect.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described by taking the case of Yukiya Nagisa as an example. Yukiyanagi, also called Kogomebana, blooms with white flowers in March and April. The stem is standing and has a height of 1 to 3 m. The leaves gradually darken green and gradually turn yellow after fall.

Initially, the present inventor collected fresh leaves and flowers of snow and nails, applied them to a mixer with water, and used the supernatant for the experiment. The effect was seen. Also, fresh leaves and flowers boiled in water, and those obtained by heating and concentrating the supernatant liquid showed some repellent effect. Moreover, the liquid obtained by crushing (mixing with water) is separated into a supernatant liquid and a fiber after 1 to several days (the latter is settled). In about one month, the supernatant liquid becomes transparent brown (so-called whiskey color). It should be noted that the juice of the precipitate, if it is made of fiber, shows a better insect repellent effect than the supernatant. In addition, if the whole liquid is stirred and separated after the supernatant liquid and the fiber are separated, the supernatant liquid may become dark or conversely light, although the reason is unknown.

This supernatant liquid is initially light brown and smells blue, but as it matures (about a month), it becomes a dark transparent brown color, and the smell is peculiar to a mixture of plum wine and shiso from a smell like shiso Shows fragrance. In this state, there will be no corruption even after 3 years. The effect of repelling pests gradually increases from about one month. Such a change is presumed to be caused by some chemical change or by the action of an enzyme. The taste also changes, but some feel astringency and bitterness.

In addition, when a supernatant liquid evaporates water, a small amount of viscous solution remains on the bottom of the container. This solution smells similar to the supernatant and returns to the original supernatant when water is added. This solution and the returned supernatant also show a pest repellent effect. From this, it can be seen that the plant extract of the present invention has a moisturizing effect or an effect of encapsulating a chemical substance.

On the other hand, pest repellent effect equivalent to that of the supernatant is also observed in the remaining residue after removing the supernatant, or the residue (one month or more elapsed). Therefore, if you put this cocoon on a plate or the like and leave it in the room, it will have an insect repellent effect. Alternatively, the cocoons may be dried sufficiently and used as an incense stick.

When the solvent was applied to a mixer using ethanol instead of water, the supernatant liquid fractionated had a higher evaporation rate than that of water, and a hard and dry residue remained. As the solvent, lower alcohols such as methanol, propyl alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol, and water-containing lower alcohols can also be used. In addition, various organic solvents such as ether, acetone and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and polyhydric alcohols such as glycerin can be used. However, as for the thing sprayed in the kitchen where the mosquito avoidant and the ingredients used for the skin are placed, the one extracted with water, water-containing methanol or methanol is preferable from the viewpoint of safety. In the case of alcohol or an organic solvent, a lot of chlorophyll dissolves or the liquid is bright green. On the other hand, when it is put on a mixer with water, it has a slightly light green color, but it becomes greenish brown over time.

The part of the snowy and leek to be used may be any of leaves, flowers, branches, stems, or roots, but leaves, especially fresh fresh leaves are most preferable for the pest repellent effect. In addition, when using water as a solvent and applying to a mixer, the fiber floating on the surface may rarely grow. The reason is not clear, but it may be due to insufficient washing of plants and containers. In that case, when the fibrous part to which mold has adhered is removed and the whole is stirred, the fiber is precipitated, and then mold hardly occurs. In rare cases, mold may grow severely. In this case, the supernatant liquid shows a rot odor and has little pest repellent effect.

On the other hand, the ripened supernatant (extract) does not spoil or mold at all even if it is stored at room temperature without covering the container. In addition, as described above, the extract smells of faint plants such as plum fruit and shiso leaves. If you are worried about this smell, put it in a blender with a small amount of bay leaves, mint or other herbs, or add a small amount of aromatic plant extracts or extracts such as herbs. Disappears.

The processed product of the extract means a product obtained by concentrating, diluting, purifying, or powdering the extract. Concentration refers to reducing the moisture by heating the extract, but may be performed under reduced pressure in order to avoid the influence of the heat of the components. Dilution can be performed at an arbitrary ratio with water or alcohol, but the insect repellent effect is inferior. Moreover, since normal hot-air drying is difficult, powdering is good to vacuum-dry an extract. These processes are selected according to the application.

The extract of the present invention has a pest repellent effect but not an insecticidal effect. In this sense, it is different from insect repellents such as naphthalene and camphor. Therefore, even if this extract is sprayed on ants lined up in the garden or kitchen, they will not die or run out of lane. Walk with ease in the dripping liquid. However, after a while, there will be no ants in the area. Also, mosquitoes and moths do not get close to the place where the cloth is dipped in this extract or dipped in the extract. In addition to insects, small animals such as moths, grasshoppers, slugs, etc., commonly referred to as worms (these insects and small animals are also referred to as hygiene pests, unpleasant pests, etc.) It disappears as soon as possible. The reason for this phenomenon is unclear for some reason, but it seems that these small animals give off odors. The smell component can be felt by humans, and it smells like plum fruit and plum wine. It is currently unknown whether the odors that small animals dislike are due to single substances, multiple substances or their interactions.

Although this extract has no insecticidal effect, it has a bactericidal effect and an antibacterial effect as described above. Therefore, even if raw garbage is stored in a kitchen, it does not rot for several days, and it is not hygienic because it does not attract firewood or small wrinkles. It is also possible to use a mixture of some insecticide components in this extract or its processed product. In this case, the mixture also has an insecticidal effect.

For example, chemical synthetic products such as pyrethroid insecticides, organophosphorus insecticides, organochlorine insecticides, insecticides such as chrysanthemums and neems (Japanese Patent Publication No. 7-39332), and both insects (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 59-128319) The extract of the present invention is imparted with insecticidal properties by adding a plant extract or the like having a property or by mixing and extracting leaves or branches of a plant having insecticidal properties such as insecticide chrysanthemum, neem, or both. From the same point of view, in order to increase the repellent effect, chemical repellents such as DEET, and extracts of plants having repellent properties such as laurels, oysters, oysters, tobera, ginkgo and wormwood are added, and the leaves of these plants are added. Etc. can also be extracted. Furthermore, antibacterial substances and moisturizing substances can be added to enhance these effects.

This extract is extremely permeable to wood and bamboo. Also, this extract is extremely difficult to evaporate and does not dry completely, and has a bactericidal and antibacterial effect. Therefore, when used for building materials, there is no worry of being attacked by white ants or spoilage bacteria. Such a pest repellent effect lasts almost semi-permanently unless washed with water.

As described above, the present invention is a pest repellent containing an extract of leaves, flowers, branches, stems or roots of Spirae plants as an active ingredient.

Therefore, the following effects are obtained.
(1) The pest repellent of the present invention exhibits a great repellent effect against mosquitoes, especially against mosquitoes, moths, ants, fly flies, snails, slugs, cochleas, butterflies and the like.
(2) Unlike chemicals such as naphthalene, paradichlorbenzol, and diet, it is obtained from natural plants, so it is very safe. In addition, since it does not have toxicity (insecticidal components) compared to insecticide chrysanthemums and camphors derived from the same plant, it is safe even when applied to the skin or food.
(3) The insect repellent effect is very strong, and it is not inferior to the conventional insect repellent spray that uses diet as an active ingredient. Moreover, the effect lasts longer than conventional insect repellent sprays unless washed with water.
(4) Since the extract of the present invention itself has bactericidal and antibacterial properties, no preservatives are required, and since it is not toxic, there is no problem even if it smells for a long time. In addition, it is safe to spray near foods such as kitchens.
(5) Plants belonging to the genus Subira, such as snow-capped, cramped, shijimi, etc., are widely found in the wild and garden trees, and are also suitable for cultivation in Zantan fields. Therefore, a large amount can be obtained at a low price.
(6) Since the extract of the present invention can be easily obtained with a simple operation and apparatus, the processing cost is low.
(7) When the solvent is water, the cost is very low and the extraction operation can be performed easily and safely, and the use of the solvent suppresses secondary reactions and is excellent in safety. Can be obtained.
(8) Even when the solvent is water, the extract does not rot or discolor for several years (currently 3 years), and the pest repellent effect is maintained.
(9) Since the extract of the present invention can be concentrated, there is an advantage that it can be transported to a country suffering from insects such as mosquitoes and moths overseas at low cost.

The fresh leaves of Yukiyanagi are thoroughly washed with water, then filled into a domestic mixer, poured into water, pulverized and stirred for 3-5 minutes with the mixer. This is transferred to a container and allowed to stand for 1 to several days for solid-liquid separation. When the fiber is lifted, stir. A clear brown liquid was obtained in about one week. This solution exhibits an excellent repellent effect against pests, especially mosquitoes.

(Production method 1)
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to examples. First, 50 g of fresh fresh leaves of Yukiyanagi are thoroughly washed with water, then filled in a home mixer, poured with 300 g of water, and crushed and stirred with a mixer for 3 to 5 minutes. This is transferred to a container and allowed to stand for 1 to several days for solid-liquid separation. When the fiber is lifted, stir. Although it smells like green leaves, it becomes a clear solution with a whiskey-like reddish brown color after a month. This solution smells like plum fruit. When 300 cc of the supernatant liquid was allowed to stand for several days was taken in a bottle and left in the sun from May to June, it decreased to about 270 cc in January.
In the crushing with a mixer, water is used in a range of 200 to 1000 cc with respect to 50 g of fresh leaves. In the case of squeezed juice, a very concentrated liquid is obtained.

(Manufacturing method 2)
Yuki willow flowers and Kodemari leaves were treated separately in the same manner as in Example 1 to obtain a clear solution. The former had a lighter odor than the case of Example 1 and the pest repellent effect was inferior even after 1 month. The latter had a slightly different metallic odor as to how it smelled after a month. The effect was equal to or greater than that of Example 1. In addition, when using a branch, there will be many wrinkles and it will become easy to grow mold.

(Manufacturing method 3)
Using water-containing alcohol (water 150 cc, ethanol 150 cc) instead of water, stirring with a mixer in the same manner as in Example 1 and collecting the supernatant in a bottle, and leaving it in the sun in the same manner, it decreased to 200 cc after 20 days, It decreased to 120cc in 28 days. The remaining liquid has a strong ethanol odor.

(Manufacturing method 4)
180 cc of ethanol (reagent grade 1) was used instead of water, and the mixture was stirred with a mixer in the same manner as in Example 1 and the supernatant was taken in a bottle and left in the sun in the same manner. After 20 days, it decreased to 100 cc, 26 days It was almost dry, but the residue was sticky.

(Manufacturing method 5)
After thoroughly washing 200 g of Yukiyanagi's fresh leaves with water, it was put in a pan with 1 L of water, boiled and then boiled over low heat. The fire was turned off when the amount of water was about 2/3. The soup stock had a deep reddish brown color than the color after 1 month in Example 1.
Three drops of herb perfume were added to 50 cc of the solution obtained in Example 1 and stirred. When this solution was sprayed on clothes, the smell of perfume remained even after one week.

(Production method 6)
In Example 1, the same treatment was performed by adding 10 g of fresh leaves of Kai-kai Kaibuki to 50 g of fresh leaves of Yukiyanagi. The obtained solution showed the same insect repellent effect as that of Example 1.

(Safety confirmation 2)
A small amount of the solution obtained in Example 1 (after 1 month) was placed in a wide-mouth bottle, and two cochleas were placed and the behavior was observed. She was alive after more than a month. During that time, no food was fed. In addition, the present inventor mistaken for whiskey and swallowed about 20 cc, but no phenomenon such as feeling bad was observed. There were no abnormalities in the skin even after several days had passed since it adhered to the human body. In addition, since it does not die or escape even if it sprays on the procession of an ant as mentioned above, it is clear that there is no acute toxicity with respect to an insect.

(Confirmation of the effect of pest repellent 1-mosquito)
A. There are usually many mosquitoes in a certain cemetery, and it cannot withstand several minutes in the evening. Therefore, in the evening, about 50 cc of the solution was sprayed on the surrounding forests, gravestones in the cemetery, the ground, and planting, but two mosquitoes were bitten in the meantime. After 20 minutes, there was no mosquito when I went to the site again. Even after 2 hours, there was no mosquito in the area, and the scent of the solution remained in the area. The next evening, no mosquitoes were found. Thus, it is a great feature of the pest repellent of the present invention that the effect continues.
A similar experiment was performed twice at different locations with similar results. In addition, if it is windy outdoors, it will not be effective unless it is sprayed upwind.
As in the daytime, about 50 cc of the solution was sprayed to care for the pine gardens, but no mosquitoes came, but the reason was not clear, but strangely several dozen dragonflies gathered.
B In the living room at home, mosquito countermeasures have been taken with various commercial products such as mosquito coils. So, when this solution was infiltrated into a cloth and hung in one corner of the room, it was not bitten by mosquitoes that night. There seemed to be two flying behind the curtain, but there was no stab. The smell of solution remained in the room the next morning. The same effect continued for 4 days, but since the cloth was slightly dry, the solution was sprayed on the cloth three times. After that, there were no mosquitoes and no evidence of the death of the mosquitoes. I was convinced that mosquitoes would not fly if there was a little smell in the room. This summer (2003), no mosquito coils and other insecticides were used.
C An orchard around the outdoor outdoor parking lot (100m 2 ) around 19:30 on one day in late July 2003. The mosquito bites in three places per minute. The solution is sprayed 12 times around the periphery and then sprayed three times on the ground. Evacuate immediately. After 20 minutes, when I went to the site, there were no mosquitoes.
There was no mosquito even after a while, and I waited for the mosquito to fly again with my shirtless, but there was no sign of mosquito. I fell asleep while taking a seat and looking at the starry sky. It was 23:00 when I noticed. No one was bitten by a mosquito. There was a smell of solution around. <No wind on the day>
In the same room as the DC, I tried spraying a repellent mixed with essential oils such as eucalyptus, lemongrass, mint and cloves several times. However, the effect did not last for about an hour.

(Confirmation of the effect of pest repellent 2-Dango)
A As shown in FIG. 1, a fabric soaked in water (3 cm × 2 cm) 2 and a DEET preparation (10%: spray type) were sprayed five times at three corners of a plastic container 1 having a depth of 62 cm × 40 cm and a depth of 10 cm. Fabric 3 and fabric 4 soaked in the pest repellent obtained in Example 1 were set. 20 Dango insects were put in this container. Dango insects started to move all the way from corner to corner or around, but after about four hours, eight insects gathered on a cloth soaked in water and stopped moving there. Furthermore, although the number increased with the passage of time, about 10 animals were constantly moving around. After 8 hours, all but one were gathered in the water.
As a result, it was found that the pest repellent of the present invention has a repellent effect more than the DEET product. The direction of the corner cloth container The result was the same even if the container was changed. After 3 days, the place stopped moving and almost entered the cloth. There were no dead insects in the container. When the experiment was completed and the insects were released outdoors, they all blew up somewhere.
. B: There were 8 dango insects under the flower pot, so when the solution was sprayed, 10 animals disappeared after 10 minutes. There were 3 dango insects and 2 crickets under other flowerpots, and they were sprayed in the same manner. After 10 minutes, the dango insects disappeared, but there were 2 crickets. A cricket test was done afterwards, but there was no repellent effect. When the solution was sprayed to the place where Dango insects always gathered, the insects did not come. Similar results were obtained at other locations. The smell of the solution remained under the flower pot. When it rains, the effect is halved due to the water-soluble solution. In addition, even if the solution is directly applied to the dango insect, the insect will not die.

(Confirmation of the effect of pest repellent 3-ant)
A As shown in FIG. 2, a commercially available kamaboko 7 cut into the same size on two small dishes 6 having a diameter of about 10 cm was set on a kitchen sink. Two dishes 6 are brought into contact (slightly separated in FIG. 2), and one is sprayed with the pest repellent solution of the present invention to make an ant (a house ant or a small ant having a body length of about 0.5 mm). I waited for you to come. There were hundreds of ants in Kamaboko (Fig. 2 (b)) that did nothing the next day. No solution sprayed kamaboko (FIG. 2 (a)). The situation was the same after two days. When the solution was sprayed on the ants, the ants immediately dissipated and all ants disappeared within 10 minutes. There was no dead ant. In addition, if ants are usually sprayed on the place where ants usually come, they will not come to that place.
B If you scatter to the ants who are queuing up, there will be confusion at that place, 70% will turn back, but the rest will change places to make a queue. Often disappears. If you spread it all over in advance, ants will not come to that place.

(Confirmation of the effect of insect repellents 4-Aomushi)
The two caterpillars that were on the cabbage leaves were captured and placed on the ground. As I try to escape, spray the solution 5cm in front of it in a rectangle 1cm wide and 5cm long so that it is perpendicular to the direction of insect movement, lift the head greatly 1cm in front, and 90 degrees He turned around and escaped away from the place. Both animals took the same action.

(Verification of the effects of pest repellents-slugs, snails, butterflies)
A similar experiment was conducted for slugs and snails, but the results were exactly the same as in Example 13. Splashes on cabbage leaves didn't bring slugs or snails. Even though the butterflies came, they did not stop on the leaves. When spraying outdoors, it will be washed away by rain, so it is necessary to select the spraying time.

(Confirmation of effect of pest repellent 6-
There were six spider webs on the pine tree and after spraying, the spider webs were removed, but no spider webs were found after one week.

(Confirmation of the effect of pest repellent 7-worm)
In summer, many insects fly to the entrance gatelight, and spraying the solution directly on the gatelight drastically reduced the insects. The effect lasts for a long time, but it is more effective to spray again.

(Verification of the effect of pest repellent 8-
A A solution was sprayed on fresh fish (10 cm small pods) and left outdoors, but the sharks came close to the fish but flew away without being caught by the fish. Similarly, several times (another kite) came in, but flew away. That no longer exists. Garbage was placed outdoors and the solution was sprayed to stand. A firewood came and stopped in the garbage, but it immediately flew away. There was also the fact that it came close and turned on the garbage and flew away. After that, the garbage did not rot, and neither the flies nor the one was better. Of course, there was no occurrence of worms. There was a smell of solution near the garbage. In addition, it was confirmed that there was antiseptic effect and that the effect lasted for a long time. (Depending on the spraying method, the effect will last for more than 5 days)
B When we hung the dried persimmons every year, many flies came, but there was no countermeasure. When the solution was put in a plate under a hanging straw, the fly was completely gone.

(Confirmation of effect of pest repellent 9-fly)
Fruit apples: If you leave the skins of tangerines, etc., after a few days, a lot of fruit flies will stick, so if you spray the solution directly on the skin 2-3 times by spraying, all the fruit flies will disappear and then 1 There weren't any animals. Since the moisturizing component is in the solution, the effective effect lasts for a long time.

The pest repellent of the present invention exhibits an effect that can be said to be specific to pests, particularly mosquitoes. In addition, the plant-derived safety is much higher than that of conventional DEET. Furthermore, the plants of the genus Subira, such as snow pupae, which are raw materials for the insect repellent of the present invention, are widely found in the wild and garden trees, and are also suitable for cultivation in reduced rice fields, growing fast and not requiring hands, Available in large quantities at low cost. Moreover, since it can be easily obtained with simple operations and apparatuses, the processing cost is low.
