Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a differential signal transmission harness, and more particularly to a harness useful for transmitting a high-frequency differential signal.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, the transmission speed of signals employed in conjunction with the speeding up of electronic devices such as personal computers has been increased, and the types of signals used have increased. In order to meet such demands, a harness is known which has a differential signal transmission cable in which drain wires are aligned on two signal cables and the outer periphery thereof is collectively covered with a metal tape such as an aluminum tape. Yes.
However, in this harness, the signal waveform is “rounded” because of the collective covering with the metal tape, and the transmission characteristics for high-frequency differential signals are not yet sufficient. At the same time, due to the covering with the metal tape, the entire cable is not flexible and has a problem when being attached to the harness.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a differential signal transmission harness that is excellent in transmission characteristics for high-frequency differential signals and improved in handleability by eliminating the above problems.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
As a result of paying attention to a three-strand structure including a drain line as a signal cable for transmitting a high-frequency differential signal, the present inventors have found that the conventional problems can be easily solved.
Thus, according to the present invention, in a harness including a plurality of signal cables and terminal portions for fixing the conductors of both end portions of each signal cable, at least a part of the plurality of signal cables includes a high-frequency difference. A differential signal transmission harness is provided in which a three twisted twisted cable for transmitting a dynamic signal is arranged.
[0005]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, a differential signal transmission harness using three independent signal cables (single wires) and two sets of three twisted twisted cables will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a plan view showing an example of a differential signal transmission harness in which three twisted cables are arranged according to the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the three twisted twisted cable of FIG.
1 to 2, (1) is a signal cable composed of a conductor (1a) and an insulator (1b), and (2) is from three signal cables (1) for transmitting a high-frequency differential signal. The three twisted cables, and (3) are terminal portions to which the conductors of both end portions of each cable are connected.
[0006]
A characteristic of the present invention is that three twisted cables (two sets in the figure) are arranged in a cable portion for transmitting differential signals, particularly high-frequency differential signals, among a plurality of independent signal cables. exist. By doing so, the high-frequency differential signal can be transmitted without distortion, and the flexibility of the twisted structure can be ensured for the entire cable, and the handleability can be greatly improved.
Here, as the differential signal cable, twist twist, horizontal winding, and braid are generally known. However, in the present invention, in order to achieve both high-frequency transmission characteristics and flexibility, three twist cables are used. It is essential to adopt a twisted structure. At that time, when the twist pitch is in the range of 3 mm to 20 mm, the above two characteristics are balanced.
[0007]
When transmitting a high-frequency differential signal with the three twisted cable (2), any two of the three signal cables (1) are used for high-frequency differential signal transmission, and the other one is used. What is necessary is just to allocate as a drain line. When transmitting a plurality of high-frequency differential signals, a plurality of sets of three twisted twisted cables (2) may be arranged according to the number of high-frequency differential signals to be transmitted. Moreover, there is no special restriction | limiting also about arrangement | positioning of a 3 twist twist cable (2), and it can arrange | position freely.
According to the present invention, when the outer diameter of the conductor (1a) of the signal cable (1) is particularly an extremely small diameter of 0.09 mm to 0.5 mm, combined with the effect of the twist pitch of 3 mm to 20 mm. Further, transmission characteristics as well as flexibility are improved. Moreover, it has been confirmed that this effect is ideally balanced in the three twisted cable (2) of the ultrafine coaxial cable. Here, there is no particular restriction on the insulator (1b) covering the conductor (1a), and fluororesin, polyethylene, polystyrene, etc. adopted in this field are employed.
The above is an example of a harness that transmits a normal binary differential signal composed of two phases, but it goes without saying that the harness of the present invention can also be developed for a multi-value differential signal composed of three or more phases. Yes. In this case, the differential signal transmission harness of the present invention functions effectively for high-frequency differential signals in the range of 10 MHz to 2000 MHz.
Furthermore, the differential signal transmission harness of the present invention may have a composite form in which known signal cables such as a twin parallel system and a triple system are mixed according to the signal form.
[0008]
An embodiment of the differential signal transmission harness according to the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.
First, a fluororesin (FEP) is coated as an insulator (1b) around an ultrafine conductor (1a) having a diameter of 0.305 mm obtained by concentrically twisting seven tin-plated annealed copper wires having a wire diameter of 102 μm. Nine signal cables (1) having an outer diameter of 0.4 mm and a length of 240 mm were prepared. Next, two sets of three twisted cables (2) for transmitting two types of high-frequency differential signals using six signal cables (1) among these cables were prepared. At that time, the twist pitch was 10.6 mm. Finally, the conductors at both ends of the remaining three signal cables (1) and two sets of three twisted cables (2) are exposed 1.5 mm, and each conductor is made of 9-pole nylon with an insertion jig. The differential signal transmission harness of the present invention was completed by inserting it into the terminal portion (3) made of a press-fit terminal made of the product.
A high frequency differential signal of 280 MHz was applied to this harness to measure the eye pattern characteristics and the like, which serve as a standard for signal transmission characteristics. As a result, the signal waveform “rounded” hardly occurred, and excellent eye pattern characteristics with clear signal separation were obtained.
[0009]
【The invention's effect】
In the differential signal harness according to the present invention, particularly, the cable portion for transmitting a high-frequency differential signal has a three-twist twisted cable configuration, whereby excellent eye pattern characteristics can be obtained, and therefore, the high-frequency transmission characteristics are improved. At the same time, since the shape of the three twisted twisted cable is maintained in a twisted structure, the flexibility which cannot be obtained by the collective coating with the conventional metal tape is realized, and the workability at the time of assembling the harness is remarkably improved. .
