DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described based on examples of the present invention shown in the accompanying drawings.
[0010]
1 to 4, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a downstream portion of an exhaust system of an automobile engine having the finisher of the present invention, and FIG. 1 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view of the finisher along line 2-2 of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a sectional view taken along line 3 of FIG. 2, and FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line 4-4 of FIG.
[0011]
In FIG. 1, an exhaust system Ex of an automobile engine (not shown) is between an upstream exhaust pipe 1 connected to the exhaust port of the engine and a downstream exhaust pipe or tail pipe 2 that opens to the atmosphere. The silencer M is connected to the end portion of the tail pipe 2, and the finisher F according to the present invention is fitted and supported.
[0012]
The finisher F according to the present invention is provided in order to decorate the end portion of the tail pipe 2 that is easily noticeable of the exhaust system Ex and to improve the aesthetics of the exhaust system Ex. The specific structure will be described with reference to FIG.
[0013]
The finisher F includes a hollow cylindrical finisher body 3 serving as an outer shell, and two upstream and downstream support points S1 and S2 provided on the inner peripheral surface of the finisher F so as to be separated from each other in the front-rear direction, that is, the exhaust flow direction. The front and rear support members 4 and 5 are provided.
[0014]
The finisher body 3 is made of aluminum and is formed in a cylindrical shape with both ends open. An anode is provided on a contact fitting surface of the inner peripheral surface with at least the front and rear support members 4 and 5 described later. Oxide film treatment, that is, electrolytic corrosion prevention surface treatment is performed.
[0015]
The front and rear support members 4 and 5 having the upstream and downstream support portions S1 and S2 are both of the same shape and are made of stainless steel, and are not particularly subjected to an electrolytic corrosion preventing surface treatment. The front and rear support members 4 and 5 are tail pipe side supports comprising cone-shaped space portions 4b and 5b spreading toward the downstream side and small-diameter cylindrical portions connected to the small-diameter side of the space portions 4b and 5b. It is composed of finisher body side support portions 4c and 5c including portions 4a and 5a and large-diameter cylindrical portions connected to the large-diameter side of the space portions 4b and 5b.
[0016]
The tail pipe side support portion 4a of the front support member 4 is closely contact-fitted to the outer peripheral surface at the upstream side of the most downstream end of the tail pipe 2, and is spot welded W there. The finisher main body side support portion 4c is fitted in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the finisher main body 3, and the space portion 4b defines an annular gap between the finisher main body 3 and the tail pipe 2. And the annular gap is closed.
[0017]
On the other hand, the tail pipe side support portion 5a of the rear support member 5 is closely contact-fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the tail pipe 2 at the most downstream end and is spot welded W there. The support portion 5 c extends downstream from the most downstream end of the tail pipe 2 and is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the finisher body 3, and the space portion 5 b is the most downstream end of the tail pipe 2. It extends further downstream, defines an annular gap between the finisher body 3 and the tail pipe 2, and closes the annular gap.
[0018]
A weld nut 7 is welded to the bottom inner surface of the upstream end portion of the finisher body 3, and a clamp bolt 8 penetrating the lower end of the upstream end of the finisher body 3 is screwed into the weld nut 7. The finisher body 3 is screwed together.
[0019]
In order to connect the finisher F configured as described above to the end of the tail pipe 2, the tail pipe 2 supports the front and rear support members 4 and 5 on the outer peripheral surface of the end of the tail pipe 2 in front of the finisher F. The parts 4a and 5a are contact-fitted, and the fitting part is spot-welded W. Next, the finisher body 3 is contact-fitted to the finisher body side support portions 4c and 5c of the front and rear support members 4 and 5, and then the weld nut 7 is passed through the lower portion of the upstream end of the finisher body 3 and the clamp bolt 8 is installed. Tighten. Accordingly, the finisher F can be screwed to the end portion of the tail pipe 2 via the front and rear support members 4 and 5. In this coupled state, the rear support member 5 extends downstream from the end portion of the tail pipe 2.
[0020]
By the way, the inner peripheral surface of the finisher body 3 is contact-fitted to the finisher body support portions 4c and 5c of the front and rear support members 4 and 5 and is not press-fitted and fixed as in the prior art. The anodized film on the peripheral surface is not removed by contact fitting to the front and rear support members 4 and 5. Therefore, electrolytic corrosion is prevented from occurring between the contact surfaces of the finisher body 3 and the front and rear support members 4 and 5, and the aluminum finisher body 3 is not corroded.
[0021]
As described above, the front and rear support members 4 and 5 are fixed to the tail pipe 2 by spot welding so that they do not come off from the tail pipe. It is guided to the support member 5 and released into the atmosphere.
[0022]
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
[0023]
FIG. 5 is a longitudinal sectional view of the end of the tail pipe provided with a finisher, in which the same elements as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0024]
As in the first embodiment, the second embodiment is made of aluminum, and the finisher body 3 subjected to the anodic oxide film treatment is fixed to the stainless steel tail pipe 2 by a single stainless steel. The support member 104 is fitted and supported, and the single support member 104 includes two support portions S1 and S2 divided in the exhaust flow direction. The cylindrical tail pipe side support portion 104a and a cone-shaped front portion extending outward from the front and rear ends of the tail pipe side support portion 104a The rear space portions 104b and 104b and cylindrical finisher body side support portions 104c and 10 connected to the outer ends of the space portions 104b and 104b. It is more configuration and c. The tail pipe side support portion 104a is contact-fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the tail pipe 2, and is fixed to the tail pipe 2 by spot welding W in the circumferential direction at two locations separated in the axial direction. Further, the finisher body side support portions 104 c and 104 c are contact-fitted to the inner peripheral surface of the finisher body 3, and the front and rear space portions 104 b and 104 b have an annular gap between the finisher body 3 and the tail pipe 2. In addition, the annular gap is closed.
[0025]
The tail pipe side support portion 104a of the support member 104 may be spot welded to the outer peripheral surface of the tail pipe 2 at one place.
[0026]
Further, a weld nut 7 is welded to the lower inner surface of the finisher body side support portion 104c at the front portion of the support member 104, and a clamp bolt 8 is screwed into the nut 7 from the outside of the front portion of the finisher body 3. The finisher body 3 is fixed to the screw 104.
[0027]
Thus, in the second embodiment as well, the finisher body 3 is made of aluminum as in the first embodiment, and the contact portions of the stainless support member 104 with the finisher body side support portions 104c and 104c. Since the electrolytic corrosion prevention surface treatment, that is, the anodic oxide film treatment is applied, the electrolytic corrosion is prevented and the same effects as the first embodiment are achieved.
[0028]
In the first and second embodiments, the finisher body 3 made of aluminum is not subjected to an anodic oxide film treatment, and the front and rear support members 4 and 5 and the single support member are made of iron (made of stainless steel). As an alternative, at least the finisher body side support members 4c, 5c; 104c, 104c of the support members 4, 5; 104 are subjected to an electrolytic corrosion prevention surface treatment, for example, cationic electrodeposition coating (a surface treatment that is difficult to conduct electricity). It may be. In this case, the tail pipe 2 is also made of iron, and the finisher main body side supporting members 4c, 5c; 104c, 104c are subjected to an electrolytic corrosion preventing surface treatment such as cationic electrodeposition coating.
[0029]
As mentioned above, although the Example of this invention was described, this invention is not limited to the Example, A various Example is possible within the scope of the present invention. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the case where the finisher of the present invention is applied to the exhaust system of an automobile engine has been described, but it is needless to say that this can also be applied to the exhaust system of another engine. Moreover, in the said Example, although the tail pipe and the finisher are formed in the cylindrical shape, you may form this in an ellipse and another shape. Furthermore, in addition to the anodic oxide film treatment and the cationic electrodeposition coating treatment, other known electrolytic corrosion prevention surface treatments may be used.
[0030]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the first aspect of the invention, the finisher main body and the electric corrosion prevention surface treatment of the fitting contact surface between the finisher main body and the support member that supports the finisher pipe are not scraped. Further, corrosion due to electrolytic corrosion of the support member can be prevented.
