Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a holographic information recording apparatus for recording information on an optical information recording medium using holography, and a holographic information reproducing apparatus for reproducing information from an optical information recording medium on which information is recorded using holography. .
[0002]
[Prior art]
Holographic recording, in which information is recorded on a recording medium using holography, generally involves superimposing light having image information and reference light inside the recording medium, and generating interference fringes formed at that time on the recording medium. This is done by writing. When reproducing the recorded information, the recording medium is irradiated with reference light, whereby the image information is reproduced by diffraction due to interference fringes.
[0003]
In recent years, volume holography, especially digital volume holography, has been developed in the practical range for ultra-high-density optical recording, and has attracted attention. Volume holography is a method of writing interference fringes three-dimensionally by actively utilizing the thickness direction of the recording medium. Increasing the thickness increases the diffraction efficiency, and increasing the recording capacity by using multiplex recording. There is a feature that can be achieved. The digital volume holography is a computer-oriented holographic recording method that uses the same recording medium and recording method as the volume holography, but limits the image information to be recorded to a binary digital pattern. In this digital volume holography, for example, image information such as an analog picture is once digitized, developed into two-dimensional digital pattern information (also referred to as page data), and recorded as image information. At the time of reproduction, this digital pattern information is read out and decoded, thereby returning to the original image information and displaying it. Thereby, even if the SN ratio (signal-to-noise ratio) is somewhat poor at the time of reproduction, the original information can be reproduced very faithfully by performing differential detection or encoding the binary data to correct the error. It becomes possible.

[Patent Document 1]
"Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-311938"
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
It is well known that a very large multiplicity (M) is required to realize a large recording capacity in such a hologram storage. However, when multiplexed recording is performed, the diffraction efficiency of a reproduced image at the time of reproduction is inversely proportional to the square of the multiplicity M, so that the diffraction efficiency is extremely small in the current dynamic range of the recording material. Then, the magnitude of the diffraction efficiency of the reconstructed image is about the same as or lower than the scattering noise generated by various optical elements such as lenses, depending on the multiplicity. This is described on page 186 of Satoshi ed., "Optical recording technology has come this far" (Industrial Research Council)
[0005]
In particular, in the so-called collinear holography in which the reference light and the object light are coaxial, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 11-31938 published on November 9, 1999, the reference light and the object light The intensity of the scattered light tends to be very high as compared with a two-beam interference optical system having a split optical axis. For this reason, there is a problem that it becomes very difficult to separate noise due to scattering from a reproduced image. This is because the noise level becomes higher than the level of the reproduced image.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and an object of the present invention is to coaxially irradiate reference light and object light on an optical information recording medium on which information is recorded using holography, thereby causing interference with the information. An optical information recording apparatus and method for multiplex recording as a pattern, and an optical information reproducing apparatus for reproducing information from an optical information recording medium on which information has been recorded as described above, the intensity of scattered light noise from an optical element It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical information recording device and an optical information reproducing device having an optical system capable of reducing the amount of light.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The holographic information recording apparatus according to
[0008]
In this case, the recording reference light has a ring-like shape, and the object light is arranged inside the ring.
[0009]
The recording reference light and the object light before being incident on the scattered light blocking optical means have polarization directions orthogonal to each other. Then, in the region corresponding to the inside of the orbicular zone occupied by the object light, only the light having the same polarization direction as the object light is transmitted by the scattered light blocking optical means, and the light orthogonal thereto is blocked.
[0010]
In addition, the scattered light blocking optical unit allows only light having the same polarization direction as the recording reference light to pass through in an area corresponding to the annular zone occupied by the recording reference light, and blocks light orthogonal to the polarization direction.
[0011]
Further, the scattered light blocking optical means changes the polarization direction of the incident object light by 90 degrees in an area corresponding to the inner side of the annular zone occupied by the object light, and makes the polarization direction of the object light coincide with the polarization direction of the recording reference light. It is possible to cause the reference light for use and the object light to interfere with each other.
[0012]
The center line of the annular reference light for recording (the center of gravity of the reference light for recording) coincides with the optical axis of the object light.
[0013]
The optical information recording medium has a reflective layer, and a layer composed of a quarter-wave plate is disposed between the reflective layer and the information recording layer.
[0014]
The holographic information reproducing apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the holographic information reproducing apparatus includes an optical information recording layer having an information recording layer on which information is recorded by an interference pattern caused by interference between an information light carrying information and a recording reference light. A holographic information reproducing apparatus for reproducing information from a medium, comprising: a reproducing reference light generating means for generating a reproducing reference light; and a reproducing reference light irradiating an interference pattern formed on an information recording layer. A reproduction optical system that collects the reproduction light generated from the information recording layer by being irradiated with the reproduction reference light from the same surface side as the side on which the information recording layer is irradiated with the reproduction reference light, Detecting means for detecting the reproduction light collected by the reproduction optical system, wherein the reproduction optical system is a scattered light blocking optical means for cutting scattered light generated in the reproduction optical system. It is provided.
[0015]
The reproduction reference light has a ring shape, and the reproduction light generated by irradiating the interference pattern with the ring-shaped reproduction reference light is arranged inside the reproduction reference light ring. ing.
[0016]
The recording reference light before entering the scattered light blocking optical means and the reproduction light emitted from the scattered light blocking optical means have polarization directions orthogonal to each other.
[0017]
The scattered light blocking optical unit allows only light having the same polarization direction as the reproduction light to pass through in a region corresponding to the inside of the annular zone occupied by the reproduction light, and blocks light orthogonal to the reproduction light.
[0018]
Further, the scattered light blocking optical means passes only light having the same polarization direction as the reference light for reproduction in a region corresponding to the orbicular zone occupied by the reference light for reproduction, and blocks light orthogonal thereto.
[0019]
The optical information recording medium has a reflective layer, and a layer composed of a quarter-wave plate is disposed between the reflective layer and the information recording layer.
[0020]
The scattered light blocking optical means blocks the reference light for reproduction, which has been reciprocated in the layer comprising the quarter-wave plate of the optical information recording medium, so that the reference light for reproduction does not proceed ahead of the scattered light blocking optical means. I'm going to do that.
[0021]
Further, the scattered light blocking optical unit emits the reproduced light first from the scattered light blocking optical unit while maintaining the polarization direction of the reproduction light at the time when the reproduced light is generated from the interference pattern.
