本発明は、商品の提供元側に設置され、前記提供元に商品問い合わせを行う顧客側に設置された顧客端末と所定のネットワークを介して接続される電子商取引サーバおよび電子商取引サーバの制御方法およびプログラムおよび記録媒体に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、インターネット上で物品を購入する場合等で、現在使用している商品の後継商品を選びたい場合がある。その際、現在使用している商品のスペックを確認して、現在取り扱われている数多くの商品の中から、スペックや価格やモデルNO等を勘案して後継商品と思われるものを選び、その商品の詳細スペックを確認した上で購入を決めている。

例えば、特許文献1には、顧客の個人情報(コンシューマデータベース)、カタログ情報(カタログリポジトリ)や発注情報(オーダデータバンク)等を備えるサーバによって商品を発注する方法が開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、顧客が後継商品を探す場合に、顧客自身が何年も前に購入した現在使用している商品の商品コードを確認するのは手間がかかる。その為上記従来技術によれば、現在使用中の商品を買い替える場合に最適な後継商品を見つけるには、相当煩雑な作業を強いられた。

また、例えば高額なオプションを使用している場合に、後継商品でオプションの流用ができる場合であっても互換性の有無を確認するのが困難なため、オプションを含めて後継商品を購入する無駄が生じていた。

さらに、手持ちの消耗品についても後継商品で利用可能かどうかの確認がサイト上ではできない為、顧客が消耗品を使い切るまで商品を買い替えないなど、商品を売る側からすれば商機を逸することも少なくなかった。

また、上記特許文献1及び特許文献2記載の従来技術は、代替部品について、データを蓄積しているが、この技術は現在使用している製品が壊れた場合に、元々の交換用部品が生産中止になった場合であっても、代替品を検索できるものであり、現在使用している商品の消耗品やオプション等を最大限に活かせる後継商品を検索できるというものではなかった。

本発明は、上記の問題点を解決するためになされたもので、本発明の目的は、顧客の商品購入歴と、商品別のオプション及び消耗品の互換テーブルと、商品データベースと、後継商品決定ルール(商品の後継商品として候補となりうる後継商品のスペックの範囲を示す後継商品決定ルール)とを連携させることにより、商品買替え時等において、移行コストや消耗品のロス等を最小にできる最適な後継商品を顧客別に提案可能なサービス支援情報を自動生成できる電子商取引システムを構築すること、また、後継商品の候補が複数の場合は、複数の後継商品候補相互間での買い替えコストを比較して最適な商品を容易に提案可能なサービス支援情報を自動生成できる電子商取引システムを構築することができる電子商取引サーバおよび電子商取引サーバの制御方法およびプログラムおよび記録媒体を提供することである。
