TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is provided integrally or separately in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, a printing machine, and the like, and performs predetermined processing on paper (recording medium) on which an image is formed, for example, sorting, stacking, binding, saddle stitching. The present invention relates to a sheet processing apparatus that performs bookbinding and discharges a sheet, and an image forming system including the sheet processing apparatus and the image forming apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Post-processing devices, such as copiers and printers, which are arranged downstream of an image forming (output) device, and bind to output paper, are widely known. There has been proposed a saddle stitching process in addition to the stitching. Some of such saddle-stitching apparatuses also have a function of folding a booklet from a saddle-stitched portion and binding.
[0003]
Although this function can only perform bookbinding by binding and folding, in many cases provided with such a bookbinding function, folding processing is performed by one or more pairs of folding rollers called folding rollers. . At this time, a plate-like member called a folding plate is applied to the binding position of the sheet bundle to make a fold, and is pushed into the nip of the folding roller, and the fold is formed at the nip. In the case of folding with a plurality of pairs of folding rollers, for example, first and second folding rollers are provided, and after a fold is formed by the first folding roller, the fold is further pressed by the second roller to strengthen the fold. Some are configured as follows.
[0004]
However, in the conventional example in which the axis of the folding roller is arranged in parallel to the direction orthogonal to the sheet conveyance direction, the time during which the folded portion of the sheet bundle is pressed against the nip of the roller is short, and the folded portion of the sheet bundle is further reduced. Since the whole is pressed by the nip of the roller, the pressure is dispersed, and it is difficult to form a desired fold on the sheet bundle. Then, as another method, the invention described in
