この発明は、撮像手段が装着された自動車用アウトサイドミラーに関するものである。特に、この発明は、ブルーミングを確実に防止して明確な視認性が得られる自動車用アウトサイドミラーに関するものである。

自動車の前輪の車軸もしくは接地面付近の死角を解消するために、撮像手段が装着された自動車用アウトサイドミラーは、従来からある(たとえば、特許文献1参照)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、前記の従来の自動車用アウトサイドミラーにおいては、自動車のフェンダの左右両サイドに装着されるサイドターン(マーカー)ランプや自動車の前部の左右両側に装着されるフロントコンビネーションランプのターンランプからの光が撮像手段に直接入射するので、撮像手段で撮影した映像にブルーミング(または、ハレーション)が発生し、視認性が損なわれる場合がある。しかも、視認性の不具合を解決するために、撮像手段にフィルター等の付加部品を設けると、最低被写体照度等の性能低下や部品コストの上昇などの要因となる。

この発明は、前記の従来の自動車用アウトサイドミラーの改良にかかり、その目的とするところは、ブルーミングを確実に防止して明確な視認性が得られる自動車用アウトサイドミラーを提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上述の目的を達成するために、請求項1にかかる発明は、自動車用アウトサイドミラーに発光手段を撮像手段と共に装着し、この撮像手段と発光手段との相対位置関係を、発光手段から照射された光が撮像手段に直接入射しない相対位置関係にする、ことを特徴とする。

この結果、請求項1にかかる発明は、発光手段を点灯した場合に、この発光手段から照射された光が撮像手段に直接入射しないので、撮像手段で撮影した映像にブルーミングが発生しない。これにより、請求項1にかかる発明は、明確な視認性が得られることとなる。

以下、この発明にかかる自動車用アウトサイドミラーの実施の形態の1例について、添付図面を参照して詳細に説明する。なお、この実施の形態によりこの発明が限定されるものではない。また、この実施の形態の構成要素には、いわゆる当業者により置換可能かつ容易なもの、あるいは実質的に同一なものが含まれる。

なお、この明細書において、自動車の左側とは、ドライバー側から前方を見た場合の左側を言い、また、自動車の右側とは、ドライバー側から前方を見た場合の右側を言う。さらに、車体前方側とは、ドライバー側から見た前方側を言い、車体後方側とは、ドライバー側から見た後方側を言う。

また、前記ハウジング2の背面には、撮像手段3の撮影用の撮影窓31とサイドターンランプ4の光透過用のレンズ41とがそれぞれ設けられている。前記撮影窓31は、やや下向きに設けられている。一方、前記レンズ41は、ほぼ水平方向に設けられている。

前記撮像手段3は、たとえば、CCDカメラであって、本体32と、対物レンズ33とを備える。この対物レンズ33は、前記撮影窓31に対向する。この撮像手段3は、撮影窓31を介して車体前方側Fかつ下側の撮影範囲C(たとえば、自動車の左側に装備されるドア−ミラーの場合、左前輪の車軸もしくは接地面付近、またはおよび、自動車の右側に装備されるドア−ミラーの場合、右前輪の車軸もしくは接地面付近)の情報を撮像する。この撮像手段3により撮像された情報は、自動車の運転席に配置されている表示装置(たとえば、液晶ディスプレーなど)に画像情報として表示される。これにより、自動車の前輪の車軸もしくは接地面付近の死角を解消することができる。なお、前記撮像手段3は、前記ハウジング2に対して傾動可能に取り付けても良い。この場合、手動もしくは遠隔操作により撮像手段3を傾動させることができ、前記撮影範囲Cの撮影方向や撮影角度を調整制御することができる。

前記サイドターンランプ4は、内部に、たとえば、1個もしくは複数個のLEDや白熱電球等の光源5が内蔵されている。このサイドターンランプ4の光源5は、前記ハウジング2のレンズ41に対向している。このサイドターンランプ4は、光源5からの光をレンズ41を介して車体前方側Fの光照射範囲Lに照射して、ターンシグナル機能を果たすことができる。これにより、自動車のフェンダの左右両サイドに装着されるサイドターン(マーカー)ランプや自動車の前部の左右両側に装着されるフロントコンビネーションランプのターンランプを省略することができる。

なお、この実施の形態においては、撮像手段3が車体前方側Fに、また、サイドターンランプ4が車体後方側Bにそれぞれ位置するが、この発明においては、その逆に、撮像手段3が車体後方側Bに、また、サイドターンランプ4が車体前方側Fにそれぞれ位置するものであっても良い。要する、この発明においては、撮像手段3とサイドターンランプ4などの発光手段との相対位置関係を、サイドターンランプ4から照射された光が撮像手段3に直接入射しない相対位置関係にあれば良い。

以上説明したように、この発明にかかる自動車用アウトサイドミラー(請求項1)によれば、発光手段を点灯した場合に、この発光手段からの照射光が撮像手段に直接入射しないので、撮像手段で撮影した映像にブルーミングが発生しない。したがって、明確な視認性が得られることとなり、また、フィルターなどの付加部品による最低被写体照度等の性能低下や部品コストの上昇もない。
