上記特許文献1に記載されたシステムでは病院職員及び患者ひとり一人にICカードを所持させる必要があるので、例えば病院で管理しなければならない医薬品、治療器具等の医療物品の持ち出し、使用、返却を管理するために用いるには不向きであり、また、病室の患者に投与するつもりの医薬品が実際にその患者向けの医薬品であるかを簡単に検証することができないという問題があった。
