[0008]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a mechanism of a paper folding apparatus. A paper table on which paper P to be folded is placed is divided into a fixed table 11 and a movable table 12, and the movable table 12 is moved by a table slide mechanism (not shown). The distance from the fixed table 11 can be changed by sliding forward and backward (left and right in FIG. 1). The edge of the fixed table 11 facing the movable table 12 hangs downward, and the edge of the movable table 12 facing the fixed table 11 has a step-like shape that is one step lower, as shown in the figure. When the movable table 12 approaches the fixed table 11, a groove is formed by overlapping the step portion 12a of the movable table 12 and the wall portion 11a of the fixed table 11, and the groove width changes by sliding the movable table 12, The step 12a of the movable table 12 can be separated from the wall 11a of the fixed table 11.
[0009]
As shown in FIG. 2, a pressure roller 13 is arranged beside the fixed table 11 and the movable table 12, and the pressure roller 13 traverses the table left and right by a roller moving mechanism (not shown). The lower surface of the pressure roller 13 is located at substantially the same height as the upper surface of the step portion 12a of the movable table 12, and the pressure roller 13 rolls on the upper surface of the step portion 12a. Further, a left-right position adjusting mechanism (not shown) is interposed in the pressure roller 13 and is adjusted so as to be located at the center of the groove according to the groove width.
[0010]
Next, the operation of the paper folding apparatus will be described. As shown in FIG. 1, a set of paper P whose center is bound by staples or the like is placed on the tables 11 and 12 by a feeding device such as a copying machine or by manual operation, and back width setting information from a control unit such as the copying machine. Alternatively, the movable table 12 is moved rearward by manual setting, and the distance between the movable table 12 and the fixed table 11 is adjusted. The roller 13 is positioned at the center of the groove between the fixed table 11 and the movable table 12 according to the spine width setting information or the manual setting value.
[0011]
Then, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the rolling roller 13 rolls in the groove by the roller moving mechanism, and advances to the other end of the table while pushing the center of the paper P on the tables 11 and 12 into the groove. I do. As a result, the center of the paper P is pressed against the bottom and wall surfaces of the groove and press-formed into a square shape, and the page portion is bent at a right angle to the back portion pressed against the bottom surface of the groove to stand upright. Then, as shown in FIG. 5, after the pressure roller 13 passes through the paper P and reaches the rolling end position, the movable table 12 slides forward (right in the figure) as shown in FIG. The paper P separated from the movable table 11 and released from support by the step 12a of the movable table 12 falls downward and is stored in a stock unit (not shown).
[0012]
FIG. 7 shows an example in which the back width is set to be smaller than that in FIG. 1, and it is possible to create a booklet having a desired back width by changing the groove width formed by the fixed table 11 and the movable table 12 as described above. it can. In addition, the booklet is pressed from the inside of the spine, and the spine of the booklet is pressed into the groove of the table and molded, so that the surface of the booklet can be neatly finished without being damaged.
[0013]
In addition, an elevating mechanism is interposed in the pressure roller, and as shown in FIG. 8, the pressure roller 13 waiting above the tables 11 and 12 descends and contacts the groove, and then rolls in the groove. It may be. Although not shown, if a roller formed with a V-groove or a U-groove is used as a pressure roller, the roller does not interfere with staples binding the center of the paper, and a better finish can be obtained. Further, a plurality of types of rolling rollers may be attached to a turntable or the like, and the rolling rollers may be switched according to the groove width.
[0014]
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and various modifications are possible within the technical scope of the present invention, and it is natural that the present invention extends to those modified ones.
[0015]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the paper folding apparatus of the present invention has a structure in which the width of the groove serving as the mold for the spine of the booklet can be changed by dividing the paper table into two parts, and the center of the paper is placed in the groove by the roller. Since the booklet is formed by press-fitting, it is possible to arbitrarily set the spine width and to unify spine widths of booklets having different numbers of pages, which were impossible in the past.
