Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an information processing system including peripheral devices such as a printer, a facsimile, a copying machine, and a digital multifunction peripheral.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, an image read by a scanner is transmitted to a plurality of destinations using a facsimile, an Internet facsimile (hereinafter, referred to as “IFAX”), an FTP (File Transfer Protocol), or another protocol. Are registered together as a group, one of the groups registered at the time of transmission is designated, and the broadcast is transmitted to a plurality of destinations registered in this group.
[0003]
In order to change the destination registered in the group, security is usually ensured so that only a user who knows the password set by the system administrator (hereinafter referred to as “address table password”) can be changed. Was.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the security assurance method in the conventional information processing system described above, there is a possibility that a plurality of users other than the system administrator may know the destination table password, and if a malicious user obtains the destination table password and sends it to the destination of the group. It is also conceivable to add a bad destination if the secret is leaked. In this case, if another general user selects the group as a destination and broadcasts the image, an image is transmitted to an unintended destination, which leads to information leakage.
[0005]
More specifically, if a group that collects only people in your company as recipients (for example, the group name "Internal") includes a competitor's recipient, the sender selects "Internal" as the recipient. However, the transmission information (image) is sent to a competitor without your knowledge. Of course, transmission to an unintended destination is recorded in a transmission log or the like, so that it is possible to grasp the fact of transmission, but at that point, information has already been leaked.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of this point, and an object of the present invention is to provide an information processing system capable of preventing unauthorized modification of a group destination.
