一般に、ボトルや缶などの被包装体(以下、容器と云う)の外周面に包装用の筒状ラベルを装着して、商品名・商標の表示、色彩・模様による装飾、内容物の説明や保護等々が行われている。

この包装用筒状ラベルには、熱収縮性合成樹脂フィルムを容器の外径より若干大きな内径にして筒状に形成したシュリンクラベルや自己収縮性合成樹脂フィルムを容器の外径より若干小さな内径にして筒状に形成したストレッチラベルなどがある。

前者のシュリンクラベルの容器への装着は、このラベルを開口手段で開口しながら容器の外周面に被装した後、蒸気や熱風などで加熱して収縮させて容器の外周面に装着する方法や装置で行われ、また、後者のストレッチラベルの容器への装着は、このラベルを開口手段で開口し、さらにこれを拡径手段で拡径しながら容器に被装し、自己収縮性を利用して収縮させて容器の外周面に装着する方法や装置で行われる。

このシュリンクラベルもストレッチラベルもほぼ同様の方法や装置で容器の外周面に装着されるが、一般的には、シュリンクラベルは、その筒状ラベルの周長が容器の周長より長くして成形されているので、筒状ラベルを吸引などの開口手段で外側から引張って膨出し、開口して容器に被装することができ、固定状態にしてある容器に筒状ラベルを力を要することなく挿入して被装・装着することが行われている。

合成樹脂フィルムから両側縁に折目を有する偏平な長尺状チューブを成形してロール状に巻回し、このロール状に巻回した長尺状チューブを、ゴムローラなどからなる支持装置を経て送りロールで間欠的に繰出し、この長尺状チューブを、切断装置のカッターで所定長さに切断して偏平な筒状ラベルに形成する。この偏平な筒状ラベルを、一対の吸引装置の吸盤で吸着し、一対の吸引装置の吸盤を相互に離反することによりほぼ楕円筒状に膨出されて開口した筒状ラベルに形成する。さらに、膨出されて開口された筒状ラベルを、筒状ラベルの下方に配置された筒状ラベルの装着装置に縮閉された状態で備えてあるラベル係止爪に挿入する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
この筒状ラベルの装着装置は、容器を通過する貫通孔を有する第1の基板と同様の貫通孔を有する第2の基板との間で、かつ第1の基板の貫通孔の内部で拡縮自在となる爪片を有するラベル拡径手段を設け、その爪片の外側に筒状ラベルを嵌挿させるラベル供給手段などを備えて構成してあるので、筒状ラベルの装着装置の全体形状特に高さ方向の寸法がコンパクトになり装着装置の小型化などが図れるものであるが、ラベル供給手段で供給される筒状ラベルがその供給のタイミングによっては、爪片に嵌挿されることなく爪片の下方にある爪片支持体に嵌挿され、筒状ラベルは爪片支持体と貫通孔とで挟まれるという現象を生じ得るものである。また、筒状ラベルが装着される容器の形状などの変更に伴う爪片を有するラベル拡径手段や基板の取り替え作業が複雑になるものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記従来の技術的課題を解決するために、請求項1に記載の発明は、中心部に容器が通過する第1の貫通孔が穿設された基板上に、その第1の貫通孔の周囲にガイド体を等間隔に少なくとも4個固着すると共に、第1の貫通孔に合致する第2の貫通孔とカム溝が穿設された円盤体を回転可能に設け、前記ガイド体に、裏面にカム溝に嵌込むローラフォロアが形成され端部に上向き状のラベル係止爪が設けられた移動アームを直線方向に移動可能に装着し、前記円盤体に電動機を備えると共に、電動機の駆動による円盤体の回転で、円盤体のカム溝に嵌込んだローラフォロアが作動して移動アームを直線方向に移動させて、移動アームのラベル係止爪を閉成状態の小径から開成状態の大径としてラベル係止爪に嵌挿された筒状ラベルを拡径状態にすると共に、容器を前記の貫通孔を通過して上方に押上げて、拡径状態の筒状ラベルを容器の外周面に被装させることを特徴としている。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の筒状ラベルの装着装置の実施形態を図面に基づいて具体的に説明する。なお、本実施形態ではストレッチラベルに適用したものを示している。

図1は、本発明の装着装置を用いて長尺状チューブTから筒状ラベルLを円筒状の容器Bに装着するまでの各工程を概念的に示すものである。

合成樹脂フィルム(図示せず)から両側縁に折目を有する偏平な長尺状チューブTを形成してロール状に巻回(図示せず)し、この長尺状チューブTをロールからなる支持装置1および送りローラ22を通して、繰出ローラ23で間欠的に繰出しながら開口装置2の補助開口装置21を通過させて一次拡径して両側縁の折目部や偏平面部を離間させ、その長尺状チューブTの所定位置を、切断装置24のカッター241で所定長さに切断して偏平な筒状ラベルLにする。この偏平な筒状ラベルLを、一対の吸引装置25の吸盤251で吸着し、その後、一対の吸引装置25の吸盤251を吸引装置25に備えてあるエアシリンダあるいは油圧シリンダ、またはサーボ電動機(いずれも図示せず)の駆動で相互に離反させて、偏平な筒状ラベルLをほぼ楕円筒状に膨出した開口を有する筒状ラベルLに形成し、この筒状ラベルLを次工程のラベル装着装置3に移送する。

先ず、合成樹脂フィルムより形成され、ロール状体(図示せず)に巻回した両側縁に折目を有する偏平な長尺状チューブTを、ゴムローラなどからなる支持装置1を通して周速をコントロールできる繰出ローラ23で間欠的に繰り出しながら開口装置2の補助開口装置21を通過させて一次拡径して両側縁の折目部や偏平面部を離間させ、その長尺状チューブTの所定位置を、切断装置24のカッター241で所定長さに切断して偏平な筒状ラベルLに形成する。この偏平な筒状ラベルLを一対の吸引装置25の吸盤251で吸着し、その後、所定形状に形成された筒状ラベルLを吸引装置25の吸盤251で吸着して保持した状態で、吸引装置25に備えてあるエアシリンダあるいは油圧シリンダ、またはサーボ電動機(いずれも図示せず)を駆動して離反方向に移動させて、上下がフリーな端縁になった筒状ラベルLを必要で、かつ充分な開口に膨出あるいは任意の開口に膨出例えば長辺(偏平辺)が短辺(偏平辺の直角方向の辺)の2倍程度の開口に膨出させたほぼ楕円筒状の開口を有する筒状ラベルLに形成する。
