この種のウェザーストリップには、図4に示すように、本体開口縁のフランジ21に差し込んで取付けられるソリッドゴム製の略U形状をなす取付部22と、該取付部22の頂部上に突設され、ドア等を閉めたとき、ドア等に弾接して該ドア等との間をシールするスポンジゴム製の中空なシール部23とからなり、取付部22には内側にフランジ21を挟み込んで保持するリップ24を突設したタイプのもの、図5に示すように、ドア開口縁のフランジ26に差し込んで取付けられるソリッドゴム製の略U形状をなす取付部27と、該取付部27の側面に突設され、ドア等を閉めたとき、ドア等に弾接してドア等との間をシールするスポンジゴム製の中空なシール部28とからなり、取付部27には内側にフランジ26を挟み込んで保持するリップ29を突設したタイプのものなどが知られる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
芯金を省いて両面粘着テープにより貼着するようにした場合、芯金がない分、ウェザーストリップを軽量化することができるが、両面粘着テープには離型紙が貼付されており、これを剥がしてからウェザーストリップの貼着が行われ、剥がした離型紙は廃棄されるため離型紙の無駄を生じること、組付け作業時にウェザーストリップを両面粘着テープで一旦貼着すると、引き剥がして貼着位置を変えるための貼り直しができないこと、ウェザーストリップが取付けられる箇所に図7に示すように、急激に屈折するコーナ部Rがある場合、こうしたコーナ部Rへの取付けは両面粘着テープの追従性が悪く、また自動車車体の取付面の角度が広い所があると貼着しにくいこと、ドア等を開閉すると、ドア等に当たって図6の矢印で示すように中空シール部40が左右に倒れがちで、図8の矢印で示す右方向に倒れた場合、両面粘着テープ34がボデーパネル37より引き剥がされてウェザーストリップ31が剥離するようになること等の問題があった。

本発明は、芯金を省いて軽量化し、かつ両面粘着テープを用いることなく、自動車本体のドア等の開口縁に取付けることができるウェザーストリップと、その取付構造を提供することを目的とする。

【課題の解決手段】
請求項1に係わる発明は、対向する脚部を有して断面略U形状をなし、車体開口縁のフランジに差込んで取付けられる取付部と、該取付部と一体をなし、ドア等に弾接してドア等との間をシールするシール部とを有し、自動車本体のドア等の開口縁に取付けられるウェザーストリップであって、上記取付部の車内側の脚部が上記フランジと、該フランジに並設される内装材との間に差し込んで保持されることを特徴とする。
本発明によると、車外側の脚部がフランジと内装材で挟まれて保持されることにより、ウェザーストリップの取付けが行われる。

請求項2に係わる発明は、請求項1に係わる発明において、車内側の脚部に抜け止め用のリップを突設したことを特徴とする。

図1は、対向する脚部1a、1bを有して断面略U形状をなし、車体開口縁のフランジ6に差し込んで取付けられるソリッドゴム製の取付部1と、車内側の脚部1a上の取付部頂部に突設される、スポンジゴム製の中空状のシール部2とよりなり、車内側の脚部1aは、両側にリップ1cを側方に突設し、フランジ6と該フランジ6に並設される内装材4との間に差し込んで保持されるようになっている。そしてリップ1cは図示するように先端部をスポンジゴム製とし、付根部をソリッドゴム製としている。

図中、1dは内装材4の上端を覆うスポンジゴム製のリップであり、1e、1fは、ボデーパネル5に弾接するスポンジゴム製のシールリップである。
図2は、図1に示すウェザーストリップと同様、対向する脚部11a、11bを有して断面略U形状をなし、車体開口縁のフランジ16に差し込んで取付けられるソリッドゴム製の取付部11と、車外側の脚部11bに側方に突出形成されるスポンジゴム製の中空状のシール部12とよりなり、車内側の脚部11aは両側にリップ11cを側方に突設し、フランジ16と該フランジ16に並設される内装材13との間に差し込んで保持されるようになっている。ここでリップ11cは、図示するように先端部をスポンジゴム製とし、付根部をソリッドゴム製としている。

請求項2に係わる発明においては、リップを側方に突出して設けたことにより、該リップがフランジ及び若しくは内装材に押し付けけられ、脚部がアンカーとしての機能を果たして保持される。
請求項3に係わる発明においては、リップが内装材の凹部に嵌合することにより、ウェザーストリップの抜け止めが行われ、ウェザーストリップの保持がより確実に行えるようになる。
