Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for a vehicular weather strip to be mounted on a flange at the body opening edge of a trunk or a rear door, reducing the weight of a vehicle by shortening the flange and increasing the area of an opening when opening the trunk or the rear door. SOLUTION: The mounting structure comprises a solid rubber base portion 24 having an integrally formed holding portion 23 to be fitted to the flange 22 of the body opening edge and a sponge rubber seal portion 25 protruded on the base portion 24. The holding portion 23 is positioned by application to the flange 22 and pushed and temporarily fitted therein, and then the base portion 24 is adhered to a body panel 27 with an adhesive double coated tape 28. A water stop sponge 29 is highly foamed and rich in flexibility.
