本発明は、燃料電池スタックのセル電圧をセル端子から検出して処理するためにセル端子に回路基板と一体になったコネクタを接続する、コネクタと回路基板との一体化構造体に関する。

【従来の技術】
燃料電池スタックは、通常多くの単セルを積層して構成されている。これらの単セルの発電状態や故障したのか否か、またどの単セルが故障したかを知るために、燃料電池スタックの電圧を常に監視している。このため、燃料電池スタックのセル端子は、セル電圧を処理する処理回路(ECU)と接続されている。この燃料電池スタックのセル端子と処理回路とを接続するコネクタとの間は、リード線からなるハーネスで接続されており、セル端子数に応じたハーネスの本数が接続されている。

図4は、従来の接続構造の概略を示す斜視図である。燃料電池スタック21を構成する単セル22に備えたセパレータ32から延在して設けられた少なくとも1個のセル端子23が、コネクタ24及びハーネス25を経由して回路基板30へ接続されている。回路基板30の処理回路で処理された電気信号は、ハーネスコネクタ31を経由してハーネス34によって不図示の制御装置へ導かれる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、セル端子に接続されるコネクタと処理回路からなる回路基板との間は、リード線などからなるハーネスで接続されており、セル数又はセル端子数に応じた数のハーネスが配設され、このハーネスによる接続構造自体に信頼性が低いという問題があった。

また、コネクタと回路基板との間には、多くのリード線がハーネスとして配設されているので、取り扱いが容易でないという問題があった。

本発明は、前記課題を解決するためになされたものであり、信頼性が高く、取り扱いの容易なコンパクトな接続構造を有する、コネクタと回路基板との一体化構造体を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記課題を解決した本発明の請求項1に記載の発明は、燃料電池スタックのセル電圧の出力信号を処理する処理回路と、燃料電池のセパレータから延在して設けられたセル端子に前記処理回路を接続するコネクタと、前記処理回路と前記コネクタとを包囲するケーシングとを備えたことを特徴とする。

請求項1に記載の発明によれば、燃料電池スタックのセル電圧の出力信号(出力レベル)を処理する処理回路と、燃料電池のセパレータから延在して設けられたセル端子に処理回路を接続するコネクタとを一体にし、セル端子とコネクタとの接続箇所を無くしたため、接続に関して信頼性を向上することができ、小型化することができる。さらに、コネクタと処理回路とを包囲するケーシングを備えたため、ケーシングでコンパクトにまとめられ、外界から遮蔽されるため処理回路の保護が確実にできると共に、ユニットとして取り扱いを容易にすることができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明に係るコネクタと回路基板との一体化構造体の一実施形態について図面を参照して説明する。図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係るコネクタと回路基板との一体化構造体の概略を示す斜視図である。図1に示すように、燃料電池スタック1は、多くの単セル2を積層して構成され、この単セル2から発生した電圧を導くため、セパレータ12から延在して設けられたセル端子3を備えている。このセル端子3はコネクタ4に接続されている。このコネクタ4は、単セル2のセル電圧(出力レベル)を監視・処理する処理回路からなる回路基板10と一体に形成されている。この回路基板10から出力した電気信号は、ハーネスコネクタ11及びハーネス14を経て不図示の制御装置に導かれている。また、これらのセル端子3のコネクタ4及び回路基板10は、ケーシング9によって覆われていて、コンパクトな箱状に形成され、外界から遮蔽されて保護されている。

図2は、本発明の一実施形態に係るコネクタと回路基板との一体化構造体の概略を示した図であり、図2(a)は、図1のA矢視断面図、図2(b)は、図1のB矢視一部断面図である。図2(a)、(b)に示すように、燃料電池を効率的に用いるために、燃料電池スタック1のセル電圧を監視・処理する処理回路を燃料電池スタック1のセル端子3に接続している。詳しい説明は省略するが、燃料電池スタック1の単セル2は、アノード電極6とカソード電極7との間に電解質膜13を挟持したものであり、この燃料電池スタック1の単セル2で発生したセル電圧が燃料電池自動車など様々な用途に用いられる。

このセル電圧は、燃料電池スタック1を構成する単セル2に燃料である水素がアノード電極6に、空気などの酸化剤がカソード電極7に供給されて発生する。ここで発生したセル電圧は、セパレータ12から延在して設けられたセル端子3から電圧として取り出される。

このように単セル2で発生したセル電圧は、セル端子3から導出される。このセル端子3は、コネクタ4のコネクタ接点8に接続され、コネクタ4と一体に設けられた少なくとも一つの回路基板10に接続される。

次に、以上の構成を備えたコネクタ4と回路基板10の一体化構造体の動作について説明する。図3は、燃料電池スタック1を構成する単セル2において、セル電圧が発生する様子を示す断面説明図である。図3において、燃料電池スタック1には、燃料である水素が加湿されてアノード電極6に供給され、アノード電極6において電子とプロトンとに解離する。解離した電子は外部の不図示の負荷を経由してカソード電極7に移動することによって電流が流れ、電位差を発生し、セル電圧を得ることができる。一方、プロトンは電解質膜13中をカソード電極7に移動して、カソード電極7において酸化剤ガス(空気など)により酸化されて水を生じる。

このように単セル2で発生したセル電圧は、セパレータ12から延在して設けられたセル端子3で検出される。このセル端子3は、コネクタ4のコネクタ接点8に接触し、コネクタ4と一体に設けられた少なくとも一つの回路基板10(図2参照)に接続される。セル端子3で検出されるセル電圧は、回路基板に設けられた処理回路によって電気信号に処理される。

燃料電池スタック1の上面にセパレータ12から延在して設けられたセル端子3用のコネクタ4が設けられ、処理回路を構成した回路基板10に接続されている(図2参照)。この処理回路からなる回路基板10は、セパレータ12から延在して設けられたセル端子3を、たとえば2個有し、一方は上側にセル電圧の監視用として、他方は下側にOCV(Open Circuit Voltage)低減基板として接続されており、垂直方向の上下に設けられて平面的なスペースを少なくしたユニットにしている。

このように、セル端子3と接続するコネクタ4と回路基板10を一つのユニットとして構成させ、このコネクタ4と回路基板10からなるユニットをケーシング9によって包囲し、セル電圧を監視・処理している。

本発明は、セル端子3のコネクタ4と、セル電圧の監視や、OCV低減回路を電気処理する回路基板10とを直接一体に接続させる構造にすることによって結線を省略し、信頼性を高めると共に小型化している。

また、燃料電池スタック1のセル電圧の出力信号(出力レベル)を処理する処理回路と、燃料電池のセパレータ12から延在して設けられたセル端子3に処理回路を接続するコネクタ4とを一体にしたため、接続箇所の信頼性を向上することができ、小型化することができる。さらに、コネクタ4と処理回路の回路基板10とをケーシング9によって包囲したため、コンパクトにまとめられ、外界から遮蔽されることによって処理回路の保護を確実にすることができると共に、ユニット化されているため取り扱いを容易にすることができる。

以上好ましい実施例について説明したが、本発明は前記実施例に限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱することのない範囲内において適宜の変更が可能である。例えば、本実施形態では、2個の回路基板とコネクタを一体化した、コネクタと回路基板の一体化構造体について説明したが、さらに回路基板を複数設けてコネクタと一体化するようにしても良い。もちろん、1個の回路基板と一体化するようにしても良い。

以上説明したように、請求項1に記載の発明によれば、燃料電池スタックのセル電圧の出力信号(出力レベル)を処理する処理回路と、燃料電池のセパレータから延在して設けられたセル端子に処理回路を接続するコネクタとを一体にしたため、コネクタとセル端子との接続箇所の信頼性を向上することができ、小型化することができる。さらに、コネクタと処理回路とを包囲するケーシングとを備えたため、ケーシングでコンパクトにまとめられ、外界から遮蔽されるため処理回路の保護を確実にすることができると共に、ユニット化されているため取り扱いを容易にすることができる。
