本発明は、駐輪場等に停車している電気自転車を充電するための電気自転車用充電装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年において、電動機により車輪を駆動する装置を備えた電気自動車が注目されている。この種の電気自動車は、電動機の駆動源としてバッテリを搭載している(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。電気自転車のバッテリは、充電電力が不足したときには、十分に充電を完了したものと交換することにより対応するのが一般的である。一方、低公害化を図る車両のエネルギー源として燃料電池が開発されているが、本出願人は、メタノールを燃料とする燃料電池を利用したメタノール計量機に関する技術を開示している(例えば、特許文献2参照。)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、従来の電気自転車のバッテリ電力補充は、回収して充電する不便があり、また、バッテリを交換した場合には、その品質や履歴管理を行うことができなくなる欠点があった。さらに、自宅においてバッテリを充電するためには、充電設備とその設置するスペースが必要であった。例えば、電気自転車を駐輪場等において停車している間に充電できれば便利である。

本発明は上記事情に鑑みなされたもので、時間や敷地の有効利用を図ることができ、自分のバッテリの品質や履歴管理を行うことができる電気自転車用充電装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために請求項1に記載の発明にあっては、燃料電池装置により供給される電力が、多数の充電スタンドに供給され、それぞれの充電スタンドから電気自転車に搭載されたバッテリを充電する電気自転車用充電装置において、前記充電スタンドは、充電方式を入力するキーボードと、前記燃料電池装置から電力供給ケーブルを介して供給される電力を充電方式に応じて電力を制御する充電制御装置と、この充電制御装置により制御される電力を前記電気自動車に搭載されたバッテリに供給する充電ケーブルと、充電料金を精算する手段とを備えたことを特徴とするものである。これにより、時間や敷地の有効利用を図ることができる。

以下、本発明を図示の一実施形態により具体的に説明する。図1及び図2は本発明実施形態の電気自転車用充電装置を説明する図であり、図1は電気自転車用充電装置の構成を説明するブロック図、図2は電気自転車用充電装置の概要を説明する図である。

これらの図において、本実施形態の電気自転車用充電装置10は、例えば、多数の電気自転車17が停車する駐輪場等の場所に設けられるものであり、燃料電池装置11により供給される電力が、電気自転車17を停車する場所等に配置された多数の充電スタンド20に供給され、それぞれの充電スタンド20から電気自転車17に搭載されたバッテリ18を充電するように構成されている。

燃料電池装置11は、例えば、メタノールを燃料とする燃料電池から構成される発電部12と、この発電部12で発電された電気を蓄電する蓄電池13と、この蓄電池13の蓄電残量を検知するセンサ14と、このセンサ14で検知した蓄電残量に基づいて発電部12を駆動し、充電スタンド20へ電力供給の制御を行う制御回路15等とから構成されている。発電部12は、例えば、モータにより駆動されるポンプによりメタノールを改質器へ供給して水素を生成し、この水素と外部の空気から得られる酸素とを燃料電池部において化学反応させ、電気を発生させるものである。制御回路15は、発電部12で発電された電気が蓄電される蓄電池13の蓄電残量をセンサ14で検知し、そのセンサ14からの蓄電残量が所定の規定値以下になった検知信号を受信したときに、発電部12のモータをオンしてポンプを駆動するようになっている。また、燃料電池装置11からは、電力供給ケーブル16により、それぞれの充電スタンド20へ制御回路15を介して電力が供給されるようになっている。すなわち、それぞれの充電スタンド20において消費される電力により蓄電池13の蓄電残量が既定値以下になると、自動的に発電部12により発電され、必要な電力に応じた蓄電量が蓄電池13に蓄電されるようになっている。

充電スタンド20は、その本体ケース31が、例えば、幅が狭く縦長の箱形に形成され、駐輪場等の電気自転車17を停車する場所に立設されている。この本体ケース31の正面の操作側には、表示器24、キーボード21、カードリーダ/ライタ22、貨幣読取機23、つり銭返却機27が配置され、内部には充電制御装置30及び送受信部25が設けられ、この送受信部25に接続されたアンテナ26が上部に設けられ、また、充電制御装置28には電力供給ケーブル16からの電力を供給する充電ケーブル28が接続されている。この充電ケーブル28は、その先端に電気自転車17のバッテリ18に接続するコネクタ29が設けられている。

以上説明したように本発明の電気自転車用充電装置では、燃料電池装置により供給される電力が、多数の充電スタンドに供給され、それぞれの充電スタンドから電気自転車に搭載されたバッテリを充電する電気自転車用充電装置において、充電スタンドは、充電方式を入力するキーボードと、燃料電池装置から電力供給ケーブルを介して供給される電力を充電方式に応じて電力を制御する充電制御装置と、この充電制御装置により制御される電力を電気自動車に搭載されたバッテリに供給する充電ケーブルと、充電料金を精算する手段とを備えることで、時間や敷地の有効利用を図ることができ、自分のバッテリの品質や履歴管理を行うことができる。
