Description

【0001】

Figure 2004105778
(4)塗液 :表面張力60dyn/cm(20℃)、粘度100cp(♯4フォードカップによる20℃での測定値)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a roll coating method suitable for producing, for example, a coated steel sheet, and more particularly to a reverse roll coating method of a coating solution containing a flaky filler.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as a coating method of a coating solution containing a filler, spray coating or electrostatic coating, which is used in the automobile industry, is generally known, and practical application is also performed. These coating methods have problems that it is difficult to reduce the coating thickness and that the yield of the sprayed coating liquid is poor. As a method of thinly and efficiently coating a coating solution, application by a roll coater is generally known. In a coating method using a roll coater, there is a problem that even in the case of a coating solution containing no filler, unevenness of the coating thickness in the width direction called rolling or roping is apt to occur.
[0003]
As a method for solving these problems, Patent Document 1 discloses a method for improving the uniformity by controlling the peripheral speed ratio between an applicator roll and a pickup roll. However, it was not possible to improve the orientation of the filler and obtain an excellent design property by a coating technique for a coating liquid containing no filler as described above. There is also a method of applying a liquid containing a conductive filler by a roll coater as in the method disclosed in Patent Document 2. However, this method is a coating method in which only the function of the filler is emphasized. However, in particular, it has not been possible to orient a flaky filler so as to be parallel to the metal band and to enhance the design of the coating liquid having the filler.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a reverse coating method for solving the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art, that is, a reduction in the brilliancy due to the low orientation of the filler.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention solves the above problems, by optimizing the peripheral speed of the applicator roll of the reverse roll coater, the peripheral speed of the pickup roll and the passing speed of the steel strip, scales contained in the coating liquid The orientation of the flake-like filler was enhanced, and the glitter of the coating film was significantly enhanced. The gist of the invention is that
A reverse roll coating method of a coating liquid containing a flaky filler, wherein a roll peripheral speed u1 of an applicator roll and a threading speed u2 of a steel strip are:
[Equation 2]
Figure 2004105778
And the peripheral speeds u3 and u1 of the pick-up roll satisfy u3 / u1 ≦ 0.8, and the coating solution containing the flaky filler is excellent in the designability of the reverse roll coating method. .
Here, the unit is u1, u2, u3: m / min
[0007]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is an example of a reverse roll coating apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. First, the configuration will be described. Two rolls, a pick-up roll 2 and an applicator roll 4 that can be independently driven to rotate, are interposed between a paint pan 3 filled with paint and a steel plate 1 as an object to be coated. are doing. Further, a backup roll 5 is in contact with a surface of the steel plate 1 opposite to a surface facing the applicator roll 4.
[0008]
Of these, the rotation directions of the applicator roll 4 and the backup roll 5 are such that they move in opposite directions at the opposing positions of the applicator roll 4 and the steel plate 1 as indicated by arrows. That is, so-called reverse coating is performed. On the other hand, as shown by the arrow in the rotation direction of the pickup roll 2, the pickup roll 2 and the applicator roll 4 move in the same direction at the opposing position.
[0009]
Next, a coating method using the reverse roll coating apparatus shown in FIG. 1 will be described. First, the paint pan 3 is filled with a coating liquid containing a flaky filler. The coating liquid in the paint pan 3 is scooped up by the pickup roll 2, moves to a position facing the applicator roll 4 while adhering to the peripheral surface of the pickup roll 2, and moves toward the applicator roll 4 at the position facing the applicator roll 4. Then, the steel sheet 1 is attached to the peripheral surface of the applicator roll 4 and faces the opposite position of the steel sheet 1, and is attached to the steel sheet 1 at the opposite position, where painting is performed.
[0010]
FIG. 2 is a diagram experimentally showing the coating conditions of the coating liquid containing the flaky filler of the present invention. In the experiment, a cold-rolled steel sheet having a thickness of 0.2 mm was used, and a polyester containing a flaky filler at a mass ratio of 30% as a main component was used. The coating was performed so that the running speed u2 of the steel sheet 1 was in the range of 40 to 300 mpm.
[0011]
In FIG. 2, the horizontal axis represents the difference between the peripheral speed u1 (m / min) of the applicator roll 4 and the peripheral speed u2 (m / min) of the steel strip 1 and the peripheral speed u2 (m / min) of the steel strip 1. ), And the vertical axis indicates the ratio between the peripheral speed u1 (m / min) of the applicator roll 4 and the peripheral speed u3 (m / min) of the pickup roll 2. The reason why the abscissa represents the absolute value is that the applicator roll 4 and the steel strip 1 travel in opposite directions.
[0012]
The peripheral speed of the applicator roll 4 and the peripheral speed of the pick-up roll 2 were varied at various threading speeds of the steel strip, and a coating condition exhibiting a good appearance was found. In FIG. 2, poor filler orientation indicates a state in which the gloss of the coated steel sheet shows a value of less than 80% as compared with the gloss obtained by coating with a bar coater, which is considered to be an ideal coating condition. is there.
[Equation 3]
Figure 2004105778
If u3 / u1 ≦ 0.8 is satisfied, a decrease in gloss due to insufficient orientation of the filler does not occur.
[0013]
Although the mechanism is not clear, the peripheral viscosity of the applicator roll 4 and the dynamic viscosity of the steel strip are increased, so that the filler in the coating liquid is prevented from moving in parallel with the steel sheet 1. Conceivable. Also, if the peripheral speed of the pickup roll 2 becomes faster than the peripheral speed of the applicator roll 4, air bubbles lifted from the paint pan 3 by the pickup roll 2 cannot disappear on the peripheral surface of the pickup roll 2, and the aggregator roll 4 and the steel plate It is considered that the bubbles are transferred to No. 1 and impair the orientation of the flaky filler in the coating liquid when the bubbles escape from the coating liquid during drying after coating.
If the relationship between the peripheral speed of the roll and the speed of the steel sheet satisfies the relationship of the present invention, it is included in the scope of the present invention regardless of the type and material of the roll.
[0014]
【Example】
A coating solution containing the following filler was applied to the following steel sheet using the following roll.
(1) Steel plate: 0.2 mm in thickness, 800 mm in width Cold rolled steel plate (2) Pickup roll: 200 mm in diameter, 1000 mm in length, steel (3) Applicator roll: 200 mm in diameter, 1000 mm in length, urethane (4 ) Coating liquid: surface tension 60 dyn / cm (20 ° C.), viscosity 100 cp (measured at 20 ° C. using a # 4 Ford cup)
(5) Filler: Aluminum, thickness 1 μm, scale diameter 5 μm Other conditions are shown in Table 1.
[0015]
The gloss was measured using a # 4 bar coater on the same cold-rolled steel sheet and baked in an oven at 280 ° C. to give a gloss value of 60 ° in the passing direction of the coated sheet. The standard of gloss in this coating liquid was 700 (-). As a result, the quality of gloss in Table 1 was evaluated as good when the gloss was 560 or more, that is, good when the gloss was less than 560, or poor when less than 560.
Table 1 is a table showing the coating conditions and results of the examples of the present invention.
[0016]
In Table 1, No. Nos. 1 to 9 are invention examples; 10 to 14 show comparative examples. No. The conditions of 1 to 9 are all included in the scope of the present invention, exhibit no splash, and exhibit good gloss. No. The conditions of 10 to 11 are as follows:
[Equation 3]
The product did not satisfy the conditions described above, and became a defective product. No. The condition of 12 to 14 did not satisfy the condition of u3 / u1 ≦ 0.8, resulting in a defective product.
