【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、チップ部品が実装されるチップランドを有するプリント配線板に関し、さらに詳しく言えば、チップランドのリード電極に加熱圧着治具を用いて所定の相手方端子を接続する際の周辺部品に対する熱的影響を低減する技術に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
チップ部品は、少なくとも一対の入力端子と出力端子を備えている。したがって、チップ部品が実装されるチップランドにも、その入力端子と出力端子とを他の部品もしくは回路基板などに接続するためのリード電極が引き出されている。

図5に例示するように、多くのチップ部品Cが実装されるプリント配線板10においては、通常、それらのリード電極を端子接続部11にまとめて引き出して、そこで各リード電極と例えば他の回路基板側の接続端子とを一括して接続するようにしている。

説明の便宜上、図6に対をなす2つのチップランド12と端子接続部11のみを拡大して示す。各チップランド12にはリード電極13が連設されており、その端部131が端子接続部11に引き出されている。

端子接続部11の部分には、ヒーターバー(加熱圧着治具)14を押し付け可能とするため、レジスト膜(絶縁膜)が除去されている。この端子接続部11において、リード電極13の端部131に例えばハンダやACF(異方性導電フィルム)を介して図示しない他の回路基板側の接続端子が重ねられ、ヒーターバー14によって圧着される。

接続手段としてハンダ,ACFのいずれを用いるにしても、端子接続部11に200℃近い熱を加える必要がある。そのため、周辺部品に対して熱的な悪影響(例えば、ハンダ付け部の再溶融や熱衝撃など)を与えないようにするため、周辺部品を端子接続部11から離して実装する必要がある。

一例として、端子接続部11の幅W1が2.5mm,ヒーターバー14の幅W2が2.0mm,ヒーターバー14の設定温度が330℃,端子接続部11での加熱温度が200℃,チップランド12の寸法が3.2×4.6mmであり、端子接続部11とチップランド12とがリード電極13によりつなげられている状態において、端子接続部11とチップランド12との間の距離C(mm)と、チップランド12で測温した温度との関係を次表1と図7のグラフに示す。

これから分かるように、上記距離Cが0.8mmの場合、チップランド12の温度は約180℃で、ハンダ溶融温度である183℃近くにまでなる。したがって、周辺部品が熱的な悪影響を受けない安全圏の目標温度を例えば150℃以下に設定するとすれば、周辺部品(チップ部品C)を端子接続部11から2mm以上離したところに配置する必要があり、これがプリント配線板の小型化を困難なものとしている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、このような課題を解決するためになされたもので、その目的は、基板内に放熱手段を設けることにより、周辺部品を端子接続部に対してより近づけて配置できるようにしたプリント配線板を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、本発明は、加熱圧着治具を押し付け可能とするためレジスト膜が除去された端子接続部と、チップ部品が実装されるチップランドとを含み、上記チップランドのリード電極が上記端子接続部に引き出されているプリント配線板において、上記チップランドと上記端子接続部との間に、上記加熱圧着治具から当該プリント配線板を伝わって上記チップランドに向かう熱を放熱させる放熱手段が設けられていることを特徴としている。

本発明の好ましい態様として、上記放熱手段が上記リード電極と同じ素材からなり、上記リード電極の一部分に所定の面積で一体に形成されたベタ電極であってもよいし、上記リード電極の一部分として形成されたジグザグ状の配線パターンであってもよい。

また、別の態様とし、上記放熱手段は上記リード電極と同じ素材からなるが、上記リード電極に対して非接触状態で、上記チップランドと上記端子接続部との間に横たわるように形成されてもよい。いずれの場合においても、上記放熱手段の放熱面積が、上記チップランドの面積以上であることが好ましい。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、図1ないし図4により、本発明の実施形態について説明する。図1ないし図3には説明の便宜上、先に説明した図6と同じく、対をなす2つのチップランド12と端子接続部11のみを拡大して示す。図4は本発明の効果を示す模式図である。

まず、図1を参照して、チップランド12の各々には、チップ部品C(図6参照)の入力側端子と出力側端子とが、例えばハンダもしくはACF(異方性導電フィルム)を介して実装される。

チップランド12には、そのチップ部品Cを図示しない他の部品もしくは回路に電気的に接続するため、それぞれリード電極13が一体に形成されており、その各端部131は上記従来例と同じく端子接続部11に引き出されている。

端子接続部11にはレジスト膜(絶縁膜)がなく、リード電極13の端部131は露出されている。端子接続部11には、先に説明した従来例と同じくヒーターバー14(図6参照)が押し付けられ、リード電極13の端部131は例えばハンダもしくはACFを介して図示しない他の回路基板側の接続端子と接続される。

先にも説明したように、ヒーターバー14の端子接続部11での加熱温度は約200℃であるが、本発明においては、チップランド12に対する熱的影響を和らげるため、端子接続部11とチップランド12との間に放熱手段20が設けられている。

図1の例において、放熱手段20は、リード電極13と同じ素材からなり、リード電極13の一部分に所定の面積で一体に形成されたベタ電極21よりなる。すなわち、リード電極13が銅箔からなる場合には、放熱手段20としてのベタ電極21も銅箔からなり、チップランド12およびリード電極13のエッチング時に同時に形成される。

このベタ電極21により、ヒーターバー14からの熱が蓄積され、かつ、適宜放熱される。すなわち、ベタ電極21は熱のアキュムレータとして作用する。なお図示しないが、チップランド12と端子接続部11以外の部分はレジスト膜で覆われている。

放熱手段20の別の例として、図2に示すように、上記ベタ電極21に代えて、リード電極13の一部分にジグザグ状の配線パターン22を形成してもよい。なお、ベタ電極21およびジグザグ状の配線パターン22の面積は、チップランド12と同等もしくはそれ以上であることが好ましい。

また、図3に示すように、放熱手段20としてのベタ電極23を、チップランド12と端子接続部11との間に横たわるように形成してもよい。このベタ電極23は、図1のベタ電極21と異なり、リード電極13とは電気的に非接触である。

このベタ電極23を形成するにあたっては、チップランド12をできるだけ端子接続部11に近づけて配置することを可能とするため、端子接続部11の辺と平行に細いライン231を引き、その両端に面積の大きな島状パターン232,232を形成し、島状パターン232,232の間に、2つのチップランド12,12を配置することが好ましい。

【実施例】
上記従来例と同じく、端子接続部11の幅W1を2.5mm,ヒーターバー14の幅W2を2.0mm,ヒーターバー14の設定温度を330℃,端子接続部11での加熱温度を200℃,チップランド12の寸法を3.2×4.6mmとして、チップランド12を端子接続部11から0.8mmだけ離れたところに配置し、その間に放熱手段20として図1のベタ電極21(面積約16mm2),図2のジグザグ状配線パターン22(面積約15mm2)および図3のベタ電極23(面積約22mm2)をそれぞれ形成して、チップランド12の温度を測定した。その結果を次に示す。

図2のジグザグ状配線パターン22の場合;153℃
図3のベタ電極23の場合;155℃
比較例(放熱手段なし、図6参照)の場合;約180℃

このように、チップランド12と端子接続部11との間に放熱手段20を設けることにより、チップランド12と端子接続部11との間の距離Cを0.8mmとしても、安全圏の目標温度160±10℃を達成することができる。

すなわち、従来ではチップランド12を端子接続部11から2mm以上離す必要があったものを、本発明によれば0.8mmでよく、約1.2mm分のスペースの縮小化が図れることになる。図5の従来例と比較する意味で、図4に本発明が適用されたプリント配線板10Aを示す。なお、プリント配線板10Aはフレキシブル基板,硬質基板のいずれであってもよい。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、本発明によれば、加熱圧着治具を押し付け可能とするためレジスト膜が除去された端子接続部の周辺にチップ部品が実装されるチップランドが配置されていて、そのチップランドのリード電極が端子接続部に引き出されているプリント配線板において、チップランドと端子接続部との間に、加熱圧着治具から当該プリント配線板を伝わってチップランドに向かう熱を放熱させる放熱手段を設けたことにより、周辺部品を端子接続部に対してより近づけて配置することができ、基板の小型化や軽量化が達成される。
