本発明は、オフセット輪転印刷機における巻取原反の紙粉を除去する方法に関するものであり、さらに詳しくはオフセット輪転印刷機における給紙部の張力調整装置手前に吸引ロールを設けて、巻取原反の小巻取断裁時などで残留している紙粉を巻取原反のウェブ表裏両面から吸引し、除去することのできるオフセット輪転印刷機における巻取原反の紙粉を除去する方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
オフセット輪転印刷機は、生産性を高めるために巻取原反を使用する輪転化が進められている。ところが、巻取原反のウェブ表面には小巻取断裁時などで残留している紙粉や繊維などの屑(本発明では紙粉と略す。)が付着していることから、印刷を行う場合に、その紙粉がブランケット胴に付着して紙面へのインキ転移を妨害し、そのため白抜けと呼ばれる白抜け点などを印刷物に発生させる傷害がある。白抜け点などの発生は、印刷品質を低下させるので、これを防止するために従来より印刷前に紙粉などを紙面から除去する作業が行われている。

この紙粉などの除去は、例えば、走行する巻取原反のウェブ表面にブラシ、エアー、布などを当てて紙粉を剥落させ、これを吸引装置で吸引したり、布で拭き取ったりすることによりなされている。

従来の紙粉の除去では、もっぱら巻取原反の印刷すべきウェブ表面が対象とされているが、それ以外の箇所に生ずる紙粉もまた問題視されるようになっている。

巻取原反は、抄紙機により抄紙され、巻き取られた親巻取原反から、リワインダーによって巻き直しながら巻取原反の所定幅に断ち割ったり、両耳断裁を行ったりすることにより製造される。また、A1紙、A2紙などの塗工紙の場合は、抄紙後の原紙に塗工材料を塗工して塗工紙を得、これを所定幅に断ち割ったり、両耳断裁などが行われる。このようにして製造された巻取原反などのウェブの両側エッヂ、すなわちウェブの両側切断端には、紙粉が付着しており、この紙粉が印刷時にブランケット胴に鉢巻き状に付着し、堆積する。このブランケットの表面に堆積する紙粉は、こまめに洗浄し、除去しないと、ブランケットの表面に凹み付けてしまう恐れがある。

すなわち、本発明のオフセット輪転印刷機における巻取原反の紙粉を除去する方法は、オフセット輪転印刷機により両面印刷する際に、巻取原反の給紙部における張力調整装置手前の任意の位置に、走行する該巻取原反のウェブ表裏両面に対して、回転が自在運動しながら紙粉を吸引する吸引ロールを設け、該巻取原反に残留する紙粉を該吸引ロールにより吸引し、除去することを特徴とするものである。

本発明において、紙粉を除去する吸引ロールは、空洞、かつ該ロール表面より一定間隔で貫通する円形状またはスリット状の吸引孔を設けてなり、該ロール端面には紙粉を放出する放出管が固定軸に嵌合されていることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明のオフセット輪転印刷機における巻取原反の紙粉を除去する方法について、詳細に説明する。

以下、図面に基づき本発明の実施の形態について説明する。図1は、本発明におけるオフセット輪転印刷機の給紙部に吸引ロールを設けた一実施態様を示す概略側面図である。図1において、オフセット輪転印刷機は、給紙部4、印刷部5、および図示していない乾燥部、冷却部、折機部などからなる。給紙部4は、巻取原反3よりウェブ6が繰り出され、給紙部4に入り、多数のガイドロールを経て、張力調整装置2によりウェブ6の張力が調整され、印刷部5へと導かれる。ここで、張力調整装置2の手前には、ウェブ6と表裏各1ニップで接触するように本発明の吸引ロール1が設けられ、巻取原反3のウェブ6両面に断裁などによる残留紙粉を吸引、除去する。図1では、1例として、吸引ロール1の設定位置を示したが、この設定位置は、張力調整装置2の手前であれば、どの位置に設けてもよく、限定されるものではない。
