本発明は、園芸作物を栽培する土壌の表面を覆い、土壌の保護や園芸作物の生育促進を図るための園芸用マルチカバーに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、農業用マルチシートは、ロール状に巻かれた塩化ビニールやポリエチレンフィルム等で、作物を植え付ける土壌の畝を覆って敷設さる。その素材や色により異なるが、地温を上げる、地温の上昇を抑える、肥料養分の流出を防ぐ、土壌水分を保持する、作物の汚れを防止する、雑草を防除する、病害虫を回避する等のマルチ効果があるとされている。一般に使用後は廃棄物となる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
これは次のような欠点があった。
（イ） 従来の農業用マルチシートは、敷設の取り扱いが行い難く、使用中に端が剥がれたり捲れたりし易い。
（ロ） 個別の作物に敷設し難く、家庭菜園や小規模の園芸栽培には適さない。
（ハ） 繰り返し使用し難く、使用後は廃棄物となる。
本発明は、これらの欠点を解決するためのものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
扁平な底のない円柱又は角柱上面（１）中央に穴（２）を設け、側面（３）を有する園芸用マルチカバーを提供することにより、上記課題を解決するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施形態について説明する。園芸作物を土壌に播種又は定植した後に、扁平な底のない円柱又は角柱上面（１）中央の穴（２）から作物が出るように上から被せ、根本周囲の土壌（５）を覆う。作物が穴より大きく生育している場合は、中心から外周に向け切り込みを入れ、これを広げて被せる。側面（３）を地中に埋め、留め具（４）で固定する。
素材に硬質樹脂等を使用することで繰り返し使用が可能である。また、ポリエチレンテレフタレートなどの再利用可能な素材や土壌還元性のある素材の使用も可能である。

【発明の効果】
本発明を使用することにより、家庭菜園や小規模な園芸栽培において容易かつ個別に作物の土壌を覆うとができ、マルチ効果が期待できる。また、使用中に剥がれたり捲れたりすることがない。さらに、繰り返しの使用や再利用が可能で、廃棄物の減少や資源の有効利用になる。

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described.
