本発明は、前記目的と併せて、座の前後位置の調節を行う際に、その操作が容易であるとともに、調節後の位置を安定的に保持することができるようにした、椅子における座の前後摺動装置を提供することを目的とする。

本発明によると、上記課題は、次のようにして解決される。
(1) 椅子における脚柱の上端に取り付けた支基の左右に、ガイドレールを前後方向に設けるとともに、前記ガイドレールに、座の左右下方に設けた可動レールを、それぞれ前後摺動可能に取り付け、かつ前記左右のうちの少なくとも一方のガイドレールと可動レールに、互いに係合して座を前後方向の任意の位置で摺動不能にするとともに、座を上方に持ち上げることにより、前記係合が解除されて、座を摺動可能とする係合手段を設けたことを特徴とする椅子における座の前後摺動装置とする。
