Abstract
Description
【0001】
W.Zhao,et al., ”A flat panel detector for digital radiology using active matrix readout of amorphous selenium,” Proc. SPIE Vol.2708, pp.523−532, 1996.

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a radiation imaging device for medical imaging and an industrial nondestructive inspection device for imaging a subject by a radiation imaging sensor having a radiation detection element that outputs electric charges according to incident radiation.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as this type of apparatus, there is an X-ray imaging apparatus including a two-dimensional X-ray imaging sensor and an X-ray generator at a position facing an object.
[0003]
In recent years, a two-dimensional X-ray imaging sensor using a semiconductor film has been developed. For example, reference W. Zhao, et al. , "A flat panel detector for digital radiology using active matrix readout of amorphous selenium," Proc. SPIE Vol. 2708, pp. 523-532, 1996. A two-dimensional X-ray image sensor is formed by depositing an amorphous selenium (a-Se) film as a conversion layer on a TFT signal readout switch arranged in a two-dimensional matrix. ing.
[0004]
In this example, first, X-rays transmitted through the subject are irradiated on the amorphous selenium film, and charges corresponding to the density of an image formed by the X-rays are generated in the amorphous selenium film. Thereafter, the charges generated in the amorphous selenium film are collected by two-dimensionally arranged charge collecting electrodes (storage capacitors), and after integrating for a predetermined time, the X-ray detecting elements are passed through a TFT switch. Is output to the outside as a signal.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional example having such a configuration has the following problem.
That is, in the conventional device, the charge generated between the charge collecting electrodes in the two-dimensional X-ray imaging sensor is not collected well due to the internal electric field generated due to the arrangement of the charge collecting electrodes. There is a problem of being observed. Further, when radiation is incident, there is a phenomenon in which the sensitivity is reduced in accordance with the incident intensity, and it takes a long time to recover (called "ghosting").
[0006]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a radiation imaging apparatus capable of generating trapped charges in a radiation imaging sensor, thereby collecting the generated charges and preventing a decrease in sensitivity.
[0007]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a radiation imaging apparatus capable of compensating for ghosting by an arithmetic unit using light output.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention has the following configuration to achieve such an object.
[0009]
That is, according to the first aspect of the present invention, a radiation imaging sensor in which a plurality of radiation detection elements that output charges in accordance with incident radiation is arranged is opposed to a radiation imaging sensor so that a subject image is projected on the radiation imaging sensor. A radiation generator provided with a radiation generator, wherein a light generator is provided at a position where the radiation imaging sensor can be irradiated with light, and light is emitted from the light generator to the radiation imaging sensor. It is characterized by the following.
[0010]
(Operation / Effect) When light is emitted from the light generator to the radiation imaging sensor, trap charges are generated between adjacent radiation detection elements, and a bent internal electric field including between the elements is generated. Therefore, it is possible to reliably collect the charge generated between the radiation detection elements. As a result, a decrease in sensitivity can be suppressed.
[0011]
The timing at which the light is irradiated from the light generator to the radiation imaging sensor may be any as long as a trap charge is generated at the time of imaging. Light irradiation may be performed, or irradiation may be performed simultaneously with radiation irradiation. Further, the light irradiation may be performed slightly after the radiation irradiation.
[0012]
Further, it is preferable that the light generator emits light in a planar manner (claim 2).
[0013]
(Operation / Effect) By irradiating light almost uniformly on the entire surface of the radiation imaging sensor, the same trap charge can be generated for all radiation imaging elements. Thereby, the sensitivity can be made substantially uniform over the entire surface.
[0014]
In addition, the radiation detecting element is composed of selenium (Se), lead iodide (PbI 2 ), Mercury iodide (HgI 2 ), Cadmium telluride (CdTe), or cadmium zinc telluride (CdZnTe) as a main material (claim 3).
[0015]
Further, it is preferable that the light generator is disposed on a front surface side of the radiation imaging sensor corresponding to a subject (claim 4).
[0016]
Further, it is preferable that the light generator is disposed on a back surface side opposite to a subject side of the radiation imaging sensor (claim 5).
[0017]
(Function / Effect) By arranging the light generator on the back side of the radiation imaging sensor, radiation emitted from the radiation generator and transmitted through the subject is not attenuated by the light generator, so that the radiation can be effectively used. Can be used.
[0018]
Further, a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor when the light generator irradiates the radiation imaging sensor with light before imaging the subject is set as a reference light output signal, and immediately before or immediately after imaging the subject. A signal output from the radiation imaging sensor when irradiating the radiation imaging sensor with light from the light generator is used as a light output signal, and is output from the radiation imaging sensor during imaging to irradiate a subject with radiation. It is preferable that the image forming apparatus further includes a calculation unit that corrects the photographing output signal based on the reference light output signal and the light output signal when the signal is a photographing output signal.
[0019]
(Operation / Effect) The radiation imaging sensor has a phenomenon that when radiation is incident, the sensitivity is reduced according to the incident intensity, and it takes a long time to recover. Such a phenomenon of sensitivity reduction due to the radiation incident history may be caused, for example, by photographing a certain subject and then photographing a different subject, the radiation incident history at the time of photographing the previous subject may cause sensitivity unevenness in the radiation imaging sensor. Because of this, the afterimage of the previous subject is observed as “ghosting”, which is photographed while being superimposed on the photographed image of the subsequent subject.
[0020]
By the way, the reference light output signal and the light output signal by the light emitted from the same light generator have almost a correlation with the output signal when the radiation enters the radiation imaging sensor. That is, the light output signal is detected to be lower than the reference light output signal in accordance with the intensity of the radiation that has been incident so far. Therefore, the calculation means corrects the imaging output signal, which is an output corresponding to the radiation transmitted through the subject, based on the reference light output signal and the light output signal. This makes it possible to compensate for uneven sensitivity of the radiation imaging sensor according to the incident history and suppress ghosting.
[0021]
Further, it is preferable that the arithmetic means performs an addition, subtraction, multiplication and division operation including an operation of multiplying each of the photographing output signals by a ratio of the light output signal and the reference light output signal (claim 7).
[0022]
(Operation / Effect) The sensitivity unevenness can be substantially corrected by performing an operation of multiplying the ratio between the light output signal and the reference light output signal, but cannot be completely corrected by other parameters. Therefore, the correction can be made almost completely by performing an operation of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing a constant or the like.
[0023]
Further, before the correction, the correction unit determines the quality of each radiation detection element based on the light output signal, and when it is determined to be defective, the imaging output signal of the radiation detection element, the It is preferable that interpolation is performed based on the imaging output signal of the radiation detection element located in the surroundings, and this is replaced with the imaging output signal of the radiation detection element.
[0024]
(Operation / Effect) A plurality of radiation detecting elements may not be able to output a normal output during long-term use. Therefore, the quality of each radiation detection element is determined based on the light output signal, and if the radiation detection element is defective, interpolation is performed based on the imaging output signal of the surrounding radiation detection element, and this is interpolated into the imaging output signal of the radiation detection element. By the replacement, it is possible to prevent the quality of the captured image from deteriorating due to the defective radiation detection element.
[0025]
This specification also discloses an invention relating to a control method in the following radiation imaging apparatus.
[0026]
(Technical problem) In a radiation imaging sensor having a semiconductor film as a conversion layer, there is a phenomenon that when radiation is incident, the sensitivity is reduced according to the incident intensity, and it takes a long time to recover. This phenomenon occurs because, for example, when a certain subject is photographed, the afterimage of the previous subject is superimposed on the photographed image of the later subject because sensitivity unevenness has occurred in the radiation imaging sensor due to the photographing of the preceding subject. Observed as "ghosting" being photographed. Therefore, there is a problem that the quality of a captured image is reduced by ghosting.
[0027]
(1) A radiation imaging sensor in which a plurality of radiation detection elements that output electric charges in accordance with incident radiation are arranged, and a radiation detector that is opposed to the radiation imaging sensor so that a subject image is projected on the radiation imaging sensor. In the control method in the radiation imaging apparatus provided with, a step of collecting a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor when irradiating light from the light generator to the radiation imaging sensor as a reference light output signal, A step of collecting as an optical output signal a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor when the light generator irradiates light to the radiation imaging sensor immediately before or immediately after imaging, and an imaging step of irradiating a subject with radiation. Collecting a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor as a photographing output signal at the time of scanning, based on the reference light output signal and the light output signal. Control method for a radiation imaging apparatus, characterized in that it and a process for correcting the photographic output signals are.
[0028]
(Operation / Effect) The reference light output signal and the light output signal by the light emitted from the same light generator substantially correlate with the output signal when the radiation enters the radiation imaging sensor. That is, the light output signal is detected to be lower than the reference light output signal according to the incident radiation intensity. Therefore, the calculation means corrects the imaging output signal, which is an output corresponding to the radiation transmitted through the subject, based on the reference light output signal and the light output signal. This makes it possible to compensate for sensitivity unevenness of the radiation imaging sensor according to the intensity of the incident radiation, and to prevent ghosting. Therefore, the quality of the captured image can be improved.
[0029]
(2) In the above (1), the step of correcting is performed by using a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor when the light generator irradiates the radiation imaging sensor with light before photographing a subject as a reference light. As an output signal, a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor when the light generator irradiates light to the radiation imaging sensor immediately before or immediately after imaging of the subject is used as an optical output signal, and the subject is irradiated with radiation. When a signal output from the radiation imaging sensor is used as an imaging output signal during imaging, it is preferable that the imaging output signal is corrected based on the reference light output signal and the optical output signal.
[0030]
(Operation / Effect) The reference light output signal and the light output signal by the light emitted from the same light generator substantially correlate with the output signal when the radiation enters the radiation imaging sensor. This makes it possible to compensate for sensitivity unevenness of the radiation imaging sensor according to the intensity of the incident radiation, and to suppress ghosting.
