【特許請求の範囲】
【請求項1】 管腔内装置において、
第一の直径(DI)を有する最初のePTFE管を形成し、前記最初のePTFE管を前記第一の直径(DI)から最大直径(DM)まで半径方向に拡張させて、拡張したePTFE管を形成し、該拡張したePTFE管を縮小させて所定の直径(DF)とすることによって作られた、適合可能なePTFE管を備え、
前記適合可能なePTFE管は、拡張力を加えられたときに容易に拡張して、前記所定の直径(DF)と前記最大直径(DM)との間の任意の所望の直径となるようになされている、
管腔内装置。
【請求項2】 請求項1に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管が、前記拡張したePTFE管の塑性変形限界点を超えずに前記任意の所望の直径まで拡張することができるようになされている、管腔内装置。
【請求項3】 請求項1に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管が、該適合可能なePTFE管に物理的な損傷を生じさせることなく前記任意の所望の直径まで拡張されるようになされている、管腔内装置。
【請求項4】 請求項1に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管の表面に取り付けられた自己拡張型ステントを更に備える、管腔内装置。
【請求項5】 請求項1に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記第一の直径(DI)が1乃至10mmの範囲内にあり、前記最大直径(DM)が25mm以上であり、前記所定の直径(DF)が4mm以上である、管腔内装置。
【請求項6】 請求項1に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管を第一の適合可能なePTFE管とし、
第二の適合可能なePTFE管と、
前記第一の適合可能なePTFE管の外面と前記第二の適合可能なePTFE管の内面との間に取り付けられた自己拡張型ステントと、
をさらに備える管腔内装置。
【請求項7】 請求項4に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記自己拡張型ステントが前記適合可能なePTFE管の内面に取り付けられている、管腔内装置。
【請求項8】 請求項4に記載の管腔内装置において、
前記自己拡張型ステントが前記適合可能なePTFE管の外面に取り付けられている、管腔内装置。
【請求項9】 管腔内装置を形成する方法において、
第一の直径(DI)を有する最初のePTFE管を提供するステップと、
前記最初のePTFE管を最大直径(DM)まで半径方向に拡張して、拡張したePTFE管を形成するステップと、
前記拡張したePTFE管を、前記最初のePTFE管の前記最大直径(DM)より小さく前記第一の直径(DI)よりも大きい所定の直径(DF)を有するマンドレル上に配置するステップと、
前記拡張したePTFE管を前記マンドレルの径まで収縮させて、前記所定の直径(DF)を有する適合可能なePTFE管を形成するステップと、
を備え、
該適合可能なePTFE管は、拡張力を加えられたときに、前記所定の直径(DF)と前記最大直径(DM)との間の任意の所望の直径まで容易に拡張可能とされている、管腔内装置を形成する方法。
【請求項10】 請求項9に記載の方法において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管が、前記拡張したePTFE管の塑性変形限界点を超えずに拡張することができる、方法。
【請求項11】 請求項9に記載の方法において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管が、該適合可能なePTFE管に物理的な損傷を生じさせることなく拡張される、方法。
【請求項12】 請求項9に記載の方法において、
前記最初のePTFE管を最大直径(DM)まで半径方向に拡張する前記ステップが、複数のマンドレルを用いて、前記最初のePTFE管を約50℃にて僅かな増分量ずつ漸進的に拡張させることを含む、方法。
【請求項13】 請求項9に記載の方法において、
前記拡張したePTFE管を約200℃まで加熱して前記適合可能なePTFE管を形成するステップをさらに備える、方法。
【請求項14】 請求項13に記載の方法において、
前記拡張したePTFE管を加熱する前記ステップが、約1乃至5分行われる、方法。
【請求項15】 請求項9に記載の方法において、
前記適合可能なePTFE管の外表面に少なくとも一つの自己拡張型ステントを配置するステップと、
前記適合可能なePTFE管を第一の適合可能なePTFE管とし、該第一の適合可能なePTFE管および前記少なくとも一つの自己拡張型ステントの外表面上に第二の適合可能なePTFE管を配置し、前記少なくとも一つの自己拡張型ステントが前記第一の適合可能なePTFE管の外面と前記第二の適合可能なePTFE管の内面との間に取り付けられるようにするステップと、
をさらに備える、方法。
