Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in order to raising a reading accuracy of sensing a fingerprint in a portable telephone for performing a personal authenticating function by a fingerprint verification requires the set-up of a guide for maintaining a motion of a finger tip constant to stably slide on a sensor, but it is contradictory to a reduction in size of the telephone to provide a new space therefor, and that the use of the telephone by a user in the world instead of an ID card in various states requires an interface understandable in a positional shape manner. <P>SOLUTION: Since a transmitting section for transmitting a voice and a receiving section for hearing the voice are universally common, it can be recognized by anyone of the user and be most understandable to provide a sensor in its area. A fingerprint sensor, a transmitting sound passing hole, a receiving sound passing hole and a fingerprint sensor reading guide are contained in a composite integral shape. Thus, the reading accuracy due to a restriction of the moving direction of the finger tip is improved, and an increase in size of the portable device is prevented by function combination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a mobile phone has adopted a method of deciding the user and operating various operations by using a personal identification number for the purpose of avoiding illegal use and protecting memory information. He was not required to have the ability to prove himself. However, due to advances in communication means such as the Internet, financial services such as e-banks have become possible through mobile phones, and mobile phones have been required to have a function of certifying an individual user. In addition, mobile phones themselves are becoming smaller computers, and it is becoming more important to protect not only the existing telephone numbers but also the personal information stored in the memory.

In a portable telephone which is required to be miniaturized, the fingerprint sensor provided in the housing is similarly required to be small. In recent years, a strip-shaped ultra-compact scanning type has been developed. However, since the reading is performed by sliding the finger side on the sensor, in order to always perform stable scanning, there is a problem that the moving direction of the user's fingertip is restricted. Further, it is required that the position of the sensor be easily recognizable and the direction in which the fingertip is moved can be easily confirmed by tactile sensation, especially when the environment is dark or when the device is used by a visually impaired person.

[Means for Solving the Problems] It can be said that the transmitting portion for transmitting voice and the receiving portion for ear contact to listen to voice, which can be recognized by the user as a basic layout of a telephone, are common to all countries. Even if the button changes in position and design, the correlation between the insertion part and the reception part remains unchanged. By arranging the transmitting and receiving holes and the fingerprint sensor reading guide on the central axis of the mobile phone device in a composite integrated shape, the fingerprint sensor can be laid out in the most recognizable parts of the mouth and ears. We aimed to make it function as an easy-to-understand user interface for people all over the world. Further, by making the composite integrated shape play the role of a guide for controlling the moving direction of the fingertip of the user, the reading accuracy is improved, and the compounding prevents the portable device from becoming large in size and solves the above-mentioned problems.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION In a mobile phone, it is not desirable that the sense of operation is different regardless of whether the left or right hand is used. Therefore, basically, a layout layout is often symmetrical with respect to the central axis of the device, but the fingerprint sensor should also be basically on the central axis of the device main body. However, as miniaturization of the device progresses, it is often difficult to provide a new space for the fingerprint sensor, so it is the best solution to combine the functional space currently on the central axis to save space. is there. As a solution to the problem, the present invention enables a guide indicating a fingerprint sensor reading direction to be visually and tactually confirmed at a position of either or both of a transmission sound passage hole and a reception sound passage hole which are presently on a central axis. In addition to improving the reading accuracy of the adjacent sensor part by modeling, the transmission sound passage hole and the reception sound passage hole were compounded in the molding, so that the function can be positionally recognized while using it.

As described above, according to the first and second aspects of the invention, the reading accuracy is improved and the transmission sound passage hole is improved with respect to the fingerprint sensor newly provided as means for personal authentication. Also, by combining the reception sound passage hole and the fingerprint sensor reading guide, it is possible to save space. Moreover, by providing a fingerprint sensor in the transmitting and receiving areas where all humans can positionally recognize the lips or ears, it is accessible not only for men and women of all ages but also for visually impaired people and use in the dark. It is good, reliable and reliable, and can function as a user interface based on usability evaluations, which will greatly contribute to the identification of mobile phones worldwide and the construction of personal authentication systems.
