Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping system in which excess quality is avoided and a cost can be reduced, ensuring appearance properties.
SOLUTION: In the piping system in which water supply pressure is controlled at a predetermined water pressure or less, a joint installed at the end section of piping laid to at least either of the rear of a wall, an underfloor section or an attic space and an instrument mounted in a room are connected by a resin pipe, which is formed of an olefin resin composition and in which a decorative plating is carried out on a surface. Thus, the resin pipe can be used because water supply pressure is controlled at fixed water pressure or less. When the resin pipe is manufactured of the polyolefin resin composition, piping is facilitated in the case of the carrying-out of piping and the resin pipe can be manufactured at a low cost because the characteristics of a member made of polyolefin, the cheapness of workability and a manufacturing cost is displayed. Since a metallic appearance can be obtained by performing the decorative plating on the resin pipe in addition to the easy piping and the manufacture of the resin pipe at the low cost, the piping system has even excellent design properties.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

In a conventional piping system, water is supplied from an outdoor water main via a steel pipe made of metal to appliances such as kitchens, vanities, and faucets used indoors. In particular, a joint was connected to a steel pipe laid on the inside of a wall or the like, the pipe was taken out to the inside of the room, and the joint and the instrument were connected via a metal pipe. In the conventional piping system, water supply pressure control is often not performed, and high water supply pressure is applied to the entire piping up to the equipment. As a result, the flexible pipe laid inside the room is also made of metal so that it can withstand high water supply pressure. In particular, as the pipe laid inside the room, a flexible pipe made of metal is preferably used so that the pipe can be easily installed.

Besides, since the water supply pipes and drainage pipes connected to appliances used in a bathroom vanity or kitchen are covered with concealed parts such as cabinets, appearance is not required. It was However, in recent years, there have been cases where a highly decorative water supply pipe or drain pipe is used and exposed without being covered with a concealing portion such as a cabinet. For example, a metal flexible tube is plated to improve the appearance quality. However, highly decorative water supply pipes and drain pipes are very expensive because they are metal pipes that have been subjected to decorative plating as described above.

On the other hand, the piping system based on the header construction method has been adopted also in apartment houses such as hotels, buildings and condominiums, and in recent years in detached houses. In the piping system based on this header construction method, in particular, a pressure reducing valve or the like is attached to the header unit to control the water supply pressure in the entire piping system at one hand. The header unit is provided with a header that is connected to a water main pipe and branches a resin pipe that supplies water to each device. This header unit is installed outdoors, under the floor on the first floor, on the ceiling, etc., and the resin pipe branched from it is laid under the wall, under the floor, and under the ceiling. Further, a joint is connected to the end portion of the resin pipe, and the joint and the instrument are connected by the metal pipe (including the flexible pipe) described above. However, in a piping system in which the water supply pressure is controlled to be equal to or lower than a predetermined water pressure, it is not necessary to withstand high water pressure, and the metal pipe is of excessive quality, and the cost is increased.

Next, the pipe 6 for a vanity, kitchen, etc.
A case will be described with reference to FIG. 2 in which a resin pipe 6 subjected to decorative plating is used as the drain pipe 6b and the resin pipe 6 is used in an exposed place on the indoor side. As shown in FIG. 2, by controlling the water supply pressure in the pipe to the back of the wall to a predetermined water pressure, the flexible resin pipe 6 can be used for the pipe 3 on the back of the wall. FIG. 4 illustrates a method of plating the synthetic resin molding of the base material. It is preferable to use a surfactant for degreasing, to carry out degreasing and washing at a treatment temperature of 40 ° C. to 60 ° C. for a time of about 5 to 20 minutes. For the etching, a mixed solution of an oxidizing agent and an acid, for example, a chromic acid-sulfuric acid solution is used. The treatment temperature is preferably 60 ° C. to 75 ° C., and the time is preferably 3 minutes to 20 minutes. (FIG. 4 (A)) After etching, a sensitizer treatment of adding a metal having a strong adsorptive power and a reducing power to the hydrophilic surface is performed. (FIG. 4 (B)) After washing with water (FIG. 4 (C)), an activator treatment for adding a catalyst for the purpose of promoting a chemical reaction (reduction action) of copper and nickel metal ions in the electroless plating bath I do.
(FIG. 4 (D)) After washing with water, a chemical plating process is performed to perform copper plating or nickel plating on the surface of the resin. FIG. 4E shows the case where copper plating is applied. After the synthetic resin molded body is chemically plated by such a method, electroplating treatment of copper, nickel, chromium or the like is further performed to obtain a plated decorative synthetic resin member. In addition, in the test body described below, copper plating was performed by chemical plating, nickel plating was performed on the copper plating, and then chromium plating was performed. Alternatively, nickel plating may be performed, and then chromium plating may be performed.

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a piping system capable of avoiding excessive quality and reducing costs while ensuring appearance. That is, since the water supply pressure is controlled to be equal to or lower than the predetermined water pressure, the resin pipe can be used as the pipe on the indoor side. If the resin pipe is made of a polyolefin-based resin composition, the properties of the polyolefin member, that is, the workability and the low manufacturing cost, are exhibited.
It is easy to pipe at the time of piping construction, and the resin pipe can be manufactured at low cost. In addition, since the metal appearance can be provided by applying a decorative plating to this resin pipe, it is also excellent in design. Since the resin tube is formed from the polyolefin resin composition and the decorative plating is applied, the plating of the resin tube is difficult to peel off even if a small invisible crack occurs when it is bent. Therefore, it is possible to maintain a metallic appearance excellent in designability for a long period of time.
