Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a performance of a packaging device for an air conditioner. SOLUTION: This packaging device for an air conditioner is comprised of a pair of shock-absorbing members 4, 5 having at one side a cavity 2 for storing and holding a side part of a main body 1 of an air conditioner and at the other side a handle segment 3; a sleeve-like external cardboard 6 for storing the main body 1 of the air conditioner together with the shock-absorbing members 4, 5; and bands 7 for use in restricting motions of the shock-absorbing members 4, 5 stored in the external cardboard 6 and the like. Spaces between the shock- absorbing members 4, 5 and outer corners 4a, 5a in a vertical direction are hardened or set by a heat treatment. With such an arrangement as above, the outer corners 4a, 5a can be reinforced without decreasing a shock-absorbing effect of each of the shock-absorbing members 4, 5.
