2. Description of the Related Art In display electronic devices such as a liquid crystal display, a CRT display, a plasma display, and an EL display, the area of an effective display screen is usually set to be smaller than the area of an actually displayed screen. The outer periphery of the screen is trimmed with a light-shielding film or the like. 1 to 3 schematically show a cross section of a display electronic device incorporating a liquid crystal display panel as a representative example of the display electronic device. Here, a light-shielding layer is provided in a portion indicated by reference numeral 5 for the purpose of trimming a screen and blocking unnecessary light leaking from a gap between components.

[0003] When a light-shielding film is used for the above purpose, a metal-deposited film is conventionally used in many cases. A light-shielding film using a metal vapor-deposited film has an advantage that the metal vapor-deposited film (light-shielding layer) is extremely thin, and thus meets the purpose of reducing the weight and thickness of electronic devices. However, a film in which metal is vapor-deposited on one side of plastic does not always have sufficient light-shielding performance and has a drawback of having many pinholes. Therefore, a metal-deposited film having high light-shielding properties and having no pinhole is required.

When the thickness exceeds 100 μm, the stiffness of the film is too strong. Tend. If a highly opaque pigment such as titanium oxide, calcium carbonate, or carbon black is contained in the plastic film, higher light-shielding properties can be obtained. The surface of the plastic film may be subjected to a corona discharge treatment, or a primer coat layer may be provided on the surface, for the purpose of enhancing the adhesion to the metal thin film, the adhesive, or the adhesive.

The metal of the metal thin film layer is not particularly limited. It can be appropriately selected from aluminum, iron, chromium, nickel, gold, silver, copper and the like. Metals that are stable in air are preferred. In addition to using the metal alone, an alloy or a metal oxide such as iron oxide can be used. As a method of forming a metal thin film layer on a plastic film, a vapor deposition method can be used for a metal having a low melting point, and a sputtering method or an ion plating method can be used for a metal or a metal oxide having a high melting point. In addition,
The surface of the plastic film may be electroplated or chemically plated, or a metal foil may be laminated on the surface of the plastic film using an adhesive. In the present invention,
A light-shielding film obtained by depositing aluminum on a polyethylene terephthalate film is most preferable. The thickness of the metal thin film layer can be arbitrarily determined so that the light transmittance is 0.3% or less over a wavelength range of 300 to 800 nm, but is 30 to 500 nm, preferably 35 to 30 nm.

When the light-shielding film has only one metal thin film layer, it is extremely difficult to reduce the number of pinholes to zero. However, when the number of layers is two or more, the pinholes of each layer overlap at the same position. The probability of meeting is very low, and the number of pinholes can be almost zero. When the metal thin film layers are formed on both surfaces of the plastic film, the thickness of the entire light-shielding film can be reduced. 5 μm thickness
It is particularly suitable for use in electronic equipment. However, the metal thin film layer of the light-shielding film of the present invention does not necessarily have to be formed on both sides of the plastic film, and the same applies to a plastic film having a metal thin film layer on one side, which is laminated using an adhesive. The effect of is obtained. In this case, the thickness of the entire film is thicker than that of a light-shielding film having a metal thin film layer on both sides. However, three or more metal thin film layers can be provided. When an intermediate layer is used instead of the metal layer, there is an advantage that the metal thin film layer is protected from oxidation and mechanical damage.

(2) Method for producing light-shielding film in which metal thin film layers are provided on both surfaces of plastic film In order to make the light-shielding film of the present invention as thin as possible, it is preferable to provide metal thin film layers on both surfaces of the plastic film. Conventionally, when a metal thin film layer is provided on both surfaces of a plastic film, a method of forming a metal thin film layer (A) on one surface and then forming and winding a metal thin film layer (B) on the back surface is generally used. At the time of winding, the metal thin film layer (A) and the metal thin film layer (B) rub against each other, and the metal thin film is damaged. Therefore, the present inventors have provided a metal thin film layer (A), and subsequently provided a protective coat layer on the surface of the metal thin film layer (A), and then wound the metal thin film layer (B) on the back surface.
It was found that when the film was formed, the metal thin film was not damaged when the film was wound, and the above problem was solved.

As described above, when a light-shielding film having a metal thin film layer on both sides is wound up, the protective thin film layer rubs between the metal thin film layer (A) and the metal thin film layer (B) to cause damage. It is preferable to reduce the coefficient of friction between the protective coat layer and the metal thin film layer as much as possible, since it is intended to protect the metal layer from being exposed. The coating agent for the protective coat layer is

As additives, crosslinking agents such as hexamethylene diisocyanate, tolylene diisocyanate, diglycidyl ether, pigments such as calcium carbonate, titanium oxide and silica, silicone resins, fluororesins, waxes, etc., have a small friction coefficient with the metal thin film layer. Additives such as lubricants and surfactants can also be added. The composition of the coating agent for the protective coat layer is such that the binder resin is 20 to 30% by mass, and the pigment is 5 to 10%.
It is preferable that the content is 60% by mass, the solvent is 60 to 70% by mass, and the crosslinking agent is 0 to 2% by mass. The coating amount is preferably 0.5 to 5 g / m 2 , and more preferably 2 to 4 g / m 2 .
