Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.複数のサーバレプリカ、少なくとも1つのレプリカルータ、及び少なくとも 1つのクライエントコンピュータが通信インターネットワークにより相互接続 され、 クライエントコンピュータは、サーバレプリカへアクセスするためのネット ワーク要求を、通信インターネットワークを経て送信するようにプログラムさ れ、 少なくとも1つのレプリカルータは、ネットワーク要求を受け取り、そして 少なくとも幾つかのサーバレプリカの各々に対し、インターネットワークにお けるクライエントコンピュータの位置に基づいてクライエントコンピュータと サーバレプリカとの間の推定通信性能を特定する性能メトリック値を計算する ようにプログラムされると共に、インターネットワークにおけるクライエント コンピュータの位置に基づいて良好な性能を与えると推定される少なくとも1 つのサーバレプリカへクライエントコンピュータを指向するようにプログラム され、レプリカルータは、レプリカルータにより計算されるサーバレプリカの 性能メトリック値に基づいてクライエントコンピュータを指向するところのサ ーバレプリカを選択し、そして レプリカルータによりクライエントコンピュータが指向されるところのサー バレプリカは、クライエントコンピュータからのネットワーク要求に応答する ようにプログラムされることを特徴とするインターネットワークのレプリカル ーティングシステム。 2.サーバレプリカは、サーバレプリカ広告をレプリカルータヘ送信するように プログラムされ、上記広告は、レプリカルータが性能メトリック値を計算でき るようにするところの情報を含み、そして レプリカルータは、サーバレプリカ広告のデータベースを維持するようにプ ログラムされる請求項1に記載のシステム。 3.レプリカルータは、レプリカ広告をそれらの実際のソースIPアドレスに一 致させて、いずれかのサーバレプリカがファイアウオールの後方に位置するか どうか決定するようにプログラムされる請求項2に記載のシステム。 4.クライエントコンピュータは、そのネットワーク環境の記述をレプリカルー タへ送信するようにプログラムされ、そして レプリカルータは、クライエントコンピュータのネットワーク環境の記述に 基づいてサーバレプリカに対する性能メトリック値を計算するようにプログラ ムされる請求項1に記載のシステム。 5.レプリカルータは、クライエントコンピュータからレプリカルータへの経路 に配置された少なくとも1つのネットワークルータの性能メトリック値に基づ いてサーバレプリカの性能メトリック値を計算するようにプログラムされる請 求項1に記載のシステム。 6.クライエントコンピュータは、レプリカルーティング要求を通信インターネ ットワークを経てマルチキャスト又はブロードキャストすることにより、サー バレプリカへアクセスするためのネットワーク要求をレプリカルータへ送信さ せるようにプログラムされる請求項1に記載のシステム。 7.複数のレプリカルータがハイアラーキーに構成され、これらレプリカルータ の少なくとも1つは、ハイアラーキー内のより下位のレプリカルータへクライ エントコンピュータを指向することにより、インターネットワークにおけるク ライエントコンピュータの位置に基づいて良好な性能を与えると推定されるサ ーバレプリカへクライエントコンピュータを指向するようにプログラムされる 請求項1に記載のシステム。 8.少なくとも1つのレプリカルータは、ハイアラーキー内のより上位のレプリ カルータへレプリカルータ広告を送信するようにプログラムされ、レプリカル ータ広告は、ハイアラーキー内の上位のレプリカルータが性能メトリック値を 計算できるようにするところの情報を含み、そして ハイアラーキー内の上位のレプリカルータは、レプリカルータ広告を広告の データベースに記憶するようにプログラムされる請求項7に記載のシステム。 9.ハイアラーキー内の上位のレプリカルータは、レプリカルータ広告をその実 際のソースIPアドレスに一致させ、そのレプリカルータ広告を送信したレプ リカルータがファイアウオールの後方に配置されているかどうか決定するよう にプログラムされる請求項8に記載のシステム。 10.複数のサーバレプリカ、少なくとも1つのレプリカルータ、及び少なくとも 1つのクライエントコンピュータを備えた通信インターネットワークにおける レプリカルーティング方法において、 あるサーバレプリカへアクセスするためのネットワーク要求をクライエント コンピュータから通信インターネットワークを経て送信するようにし、 少なくとも1つのレプリカルータでネットワーク要求を受け取り、 そのレプリカルータにおいて、少なくとも幾つかのサーバレプリカの各々に 対し、インターネットワークにおけるクライエントコンピュータの位置に基づ いてクライエントコンピュータとサーバレプリカとの間の推定通信性能を特定 する性能メトリック値を計算し、 インターネットワークにおけるクライエントコンピュータの位置に基づいて 良好な性能を与えると推定される少なくとも1つのサーバレプリカへクライエ ントコンピュータを指向し、クライエントコンピュータが指向されるサーバレ プリカは、レプリカルータにより計算されるサーバレプリカの性能メトリック 値に基づいて選択され、そして クライエントコンピュータが指向されるサーバレプリカにおいて、クライエ ントコンピュータからのネットワーク要求に応答する、 という段階を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 11.サーバレプリカ広告をサーバレプリカからレプリカルータへ送信するように し、上記広告は、レプリカルータが性能メトリック値を計算できるようにする ところの情報を含み、そして レプリカルータは、サーバレプリカ広告のデータベースを維持する、 という段階を更に含む請求項10に記載の方法。 12.レプリカルータにおいて、レプリカ広告をそれらの実際のソースIPアドレ スに一致させて、いずれかのサーバレプリカ又はレプリカルータがファイアウ オールの後方に位置するかどうか決定する段階を更に含む請求項11に記載の 方法。 13.クライエントコンピュータからそのネットワーク環境の記述をレプリカルー タへ送信し、そして レプリカルータにおいてクライエントコンピュータのネットワーク環境の記 述に基づいてサーバレプリカに対する性能メトリック値を計算する、 という段階を更に含む請求項10に記載の方法。 14.レプリカルータにおいて、クライエントコンピュータからレプリカルータへ の経路に配置された少なくとも1つのネットワークルータの性能メトリック値 に基づいてサーバレプリカの性能メトリック値を計算する段階を更に含む請求 項10に記載の方法。 15.レプリカルーティング要求を通信インターネットワークを経てマルチキャス ト又はブロードキャストすることにより、サーバレプリカへアクセスするため のネットワーク要求をクライエントコンピュータからレプリカルータへ送信さ せる段階を更に含む請求項10に記載の方法。 16.複数のレプリカルータがハイアラーキーに構成され、上記方法は、更に、こ れらレプリカルータの少なくとも1つが、ハイアラーキー内のより下位のレプ リカルータへクライエントコンピュータを指向することにより、インターネッ トワークにおけるクライエントコンピュータの位置に基づいて良好な性能を与 えると推定されるサーバレプリカへクライエントコンピュータを指向する段階 を含む請求項10に記載の方法。 17.レプリカルータの1つからハイアラーキー内のより上位のレプリカルータへ レプリカルータ広告を送信するようにし、レプリカルータ広告は、ハイアラー キー内の上位のレプリカルータが性能メトリック値を計算できるようにすると ころの情報を含み、そして ハイアラーキー内の上位のレプリカルータは、レプリカルータ広告を広告の データベースに記憶する、 という段階を更に含む請求項16に記載の方法。 18.ハイアラーキー内の上位のレプリカルータにおいてレプリカルータ広告をそ の実際のソースIPアドレスに一致させ、そのレプリカルータ広告を送信した レプリカルータがファイアウオールの後方に配置されているかどうか決定する 段階を更に含む請求項17に記載の方法。 19.複数のサーバレプリカ、少なくとも1つのレプリカルータ及び少なくとも1 つのクライエントコンピュータが通信インターネットワークにより相互接続さ れ、 サーバレプリカは、サーバレプリカ広告をレプリカルータへ送信するようプ ログラムされ、上記広告の各々は、サーバレプリカによりサービスされるべき 通信インターネットワークにおけるネットワークの少なくとも1つの識別子を 含み、 クライエントコンピュータは、サーバレプリカへアクセスするためのネット ワーク要求を、通信インターネットワークを経て送信するようにプログラムさ れ、 少なくとも1つのレプリカルータは、サーバレプリカ広告のデータベースを 維持し、クライエントコンピュータからネットワーク要求を受け取り、そして データベースの広告で識別されたネットワークと、クライエントコンピュータ が位置するネットワークとの間の関係に基づいてサーバレプリカの少なくとも 1つにクライエントコンピュータを指向するようプログラムされ、そして レプリカルータによりクライエントコンピュータが指向されるところのサー バレプリカは、クライエントコンピュータからのネットワーク要求に応答する ようにプログラムされることを特徴とするインターネットワークのレプリカル ーティングシステム。 20.複数のサーバレプリカ、少なくとも1つのレプリカルータ及び少なくとも1 つのクライエントコンピュータを備えた通信インターネットワークにおけるレ プリカルーティング方法において、 サーバレプリカからサーバレプリカ広告をレプリカルータへ送信するように し、上記広告の各々は、サーバレプリカによりサービスされるべき通信インタ ーネットワークにおけるネットワークの少なくとも1つの識別子を含み、 サーバレプリカへアクセスするためのネットワーク要求をクライエントコン ピュータから通信インターネットワークを経て送信するようにし、 レプリカルータは、サーバレプリカ広告のデータベースを維持し、 クライエントコンピュータからネットワーク要求をレプリカルータで受け取 り、 データベースの広告で識別されたネットワークと、クライエントコンピュー タが位置するネットワークとの間の関係に基づいてサーバレプリカの少なくと も1つにクライエントコンピュータを指向し、そして レプリカルータによりクライエントコンピュータが指向されるところのサー バレプリカにおいてクライエントコンピュータからのネットワーク要求に応答 する、 という段階を含むことを特徴とする方法。
