【請求項2】 R2T14B型金属間化合物(RはYを含む希土類元素の1種または2種以上であり、TはFeまたはFeとCoである)を主相とするR−T−B系永久磁石体表面にめっきを被覆してなるR−T−B系永久磁石であって、前記R−T−B系永久磁石の断面組織におけるめっき層とR−T−B系永久磁石体とが形成する境界に沿って100μmの直線を引いたとき、その直線に沿う主相部に形成されたエッチングピットの個数がその直線に沿う粒界相部に形成されたエッチングピットの個数よりも多いことを特徴とするR−T−B系永久磁石。
