The fitting portion 8a of the arc-shaped body 8 of the packing body 14
When fitted into the semi-annular packing groove 6a, the pressing portion 8b protrudes from the tip (inner peripheral surface) of the receiving portion 20 constituting the semi-annular packing groove 6a of the exterior body 3. I have.
More specifically, as shown in FIG. 3A, the inner diameter D1 of the arc-shaped body 8 (the pressing portion 8b) is smaller than the inner diameter D2 of the receiving portion 20. Moreover, the inner diameter D3 of the reinforcing means 15 is set smaller than the inner diameter D2 of the receiving portion 20, and the reinforcing means 1
5 is set larger than the inner diameter D2 of the receiving portion. Therefore, the reinforcing means 15 is provided over (across) the fitting portion 8a fitted into the packing groove 6a of the arc-shaped body 8 and the pressing portion 8b.

At this time, the pressing portion 8b of the arc-shaped body 8 of the packing body 14 fitted into the semi-annular packing groove 6a by the fastening force of each bolt B makes the surface (outer peripheral surface) 2a of the existing pipe 2
At the same time, the connecting bodies 9 fitted into the linear packing grooves 6b are pressed against each other, so that the entire periphery of the packing 7 is stopped, and the inner surface of the exterior body 3 is reliably stopped.

After that, the exterior body 3 is moved in the circumferential direction of the existing pipe 2
For example, it is rotated from about 150 degrees to 160 degrees. That is, the cutting tool 19 is rotated from the cutting start position to the cutting end position, and the cutting port 17 is formed in a part (upper part) of the existing pipe 2. In addition, the cutting chips at the time of cutting are discharged together with the water from the drainage channel of the branch portion 14 due to the water pressure overflowing from the cutting port 17.

Further, the water that is not discharged fills the inside of the exterior body 3, and the water pressure presses the pressing portion 8b of the packing 7 outward as shown in FIG. This water pressure presses the packing arc-shaped body 8 toward the receiving portion 20 and tries to curve the pressing portion 8b protruding from the receiving portion 20, but the reinforcing means 15 embedded in the arc-shaped body 8 Since it extends over the fitting portion 8a and the pressing portion 8b, even if the gap S is slightly large, the pressing portion 8b is prevented from bending outward, and the pressing portion 13 is hard to bend. There is no possibility that the fitting portion may come off the packing groove 6a, and the sealing performance is not deteriorated.

After the formation of the cutting port 17, the cutting tool 1
9 is retracted, the valve is closed, and after the valve is closed, the cutting tool 19 is removed. After that, the outer body 3 is rotated, and the cutting port 17 is closed by inserting the gate valve body 23 into the cutting port 17,
Water can be stopped in the existing pipe 2.

As described above, according to the packing of the present invention, the gap formed between the existing pipe through which the fluid flows and the outer body detachably fitted to the existing pipe is provided. To provide a seal, a packing body attached to the outer body is provided,
The packing body includes a fitting portion fitted into the fitted groove formed in the outer body, and a pressing portion protruding from the fitted groove and coming into contact with the surface of the existing pipe. Since the reinforcing means harder than the packing body is provided over the fitting portion and the pressing portion, even if the gap formed between the existing pipe and the outer body is slightly larger, It is possible to prevent the pressing portion from being bent by the fluid pressure, and it is possible to maintain good watertightness in, for example, uninterrupted work for stopping water.
