【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 車両側に支持されるペタルアームと該ペ
タルアームの先端に設けられ運転者の下肢により操作さ
れるペタル踏板等を有する車両におけるペタル装置であ
って、前記ペタルアームを車両側に支持される第1のペ
タルアームと前記ペタル踏板の設けられる第2のペタル
アームとに2分割し、該第2のペタルアームの基端側に
前記第1のペタルアームの先端側に嵌着する嵌合部を設
け、前記嵌合部は、車両衝突時等の大きな外力作用時に
おいて前記ペタル踏板に加わる通常のペタル踏力を越え
る踏力により変形し、その嵌合を全体として又は部分的
に解除すべく形成されることを特徴とする車両における
下肢保護ペタル装置。
