Claims (5)

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 上縁部にて車体に組付けられ、車室内の
側部にてカーテン状に膨張展開して乗員の頭部を保護す
るエアバッグと、このエアバッグの下縁側に張力を発生
させる張力ベルトとを備えた頭部保護エアバッグ装置で
あって、 前記エアバッグは、前後方向の端部側に略上下方向に延
びる張力発揮用膨張部と、この張力発揮用膨張部に隣接
する非膨張部とを備え、 前記張力ベルトは、その基端部が前記非膨張部の上部に
固着され、中間部が前記非膨張部の下部に設けた通孔に
移動可能に挿通され、先端部が車体に組付けられてお
り、 さらに、前記エアバッグの前記非膨張部に、前記エアバ
ッグの膨張展開時に膨張してシワの発生を抑止する補助
膨張室を設けたことを特徴とする頭部保護エアバッグ装
置。
