Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate flexure from either page to be recorded by providing a section for controlling a thermal head to perform recording while carrying a booklet through a carry roller from the binding part side toward the side end part side when recording is performed on either page of the booklet. SOLUTION: A booklet recorder 13 has a section for controlling carriage of a booklet 10 through carrying rollers, recording with a thermal head 4, and the like. When recording is performed on either page of the booklet 10 on the opposite sides of the binding part 11, the control section 14 controls the thermal head 4 to perform recording while carrying the booklet 10 through the carry rollers 8 from the binding part 11 side toward the side end part 12 side. Since either page is carried in the direction for straightening flexure, flexure can be eliminated from either page in the recording.

[0006] When the booklet recording apparatus 1 performs recording on both pages of the booklet in a two-page spread state, first,
As shown in FIG. 7, the booklet 10 is placed in a two-page spread state in which any two adjacent pages are opened with the closing part 11 interposed therebetween, and the booklet 10 in the two-page spread state is parallel to the closing part 11. After the sheet is inserted into the apparatus from the side end 12 first, the paper feed roller 7 is driven to supply the booklet 10 to a position where the transport roller 8 and the pressing roller 9 are held. After the leading end of the booklet 10 is supplied to the position between the conveying roller 8 and the pressing roller 9, the conveying roller 8 is driven to move the booklet 10 downstream of the thermal head 4 in the sheet feeding direction. While the paper is being conveyed, the thermal head 4 sequentially performs desired recording on the two-page spread pages that are sequentially conveyed between the platen 2 and the thermal head 4 from the side edge portion 12 of the page on the downstream side in the paper feeding direction. Had to be done.

However, in the conventional booklet recording apparatus 1, when printing is performed on both pages of the booklet 10 in the spread state by the thermal head 4, a gap between the platen 2 and the thermal head 4 is generated. The booklet 10 has been conveyed from the side edge 12 side of the page on the downstream side in the paper feeding direction. For this reason, as shown in FIG.
And has been bent by the friction between the pressing roller 9 and the pressing roller 9.

For this reason, when printing is performed on the page on the downstream side in the paper feeding direction, the bending of this page causes the thermal head 4 to be brought into a desired press-contact position when the thermal head 4 presses against the platen 2 and the actual press-contact position. There was a gap. further,
When the booklet 10 is transported in a state in which the pages are bent, a case in which the entire booklet 10 is not transported because only the bending is drawn in has occurred. Therefore, the actual paper feed for the steps of the paper feed motor, that is, the transport of the booklet 10 must be performed. And the paper feeding accuracy could not be maintained satisfactorily.

At this time, the page on the downstream side in the paper feeding direction is not conveyed between the platen 2 and the thermal head 4 first from the side edge 12 side of the page as in the conventional case, but is closed. The paper is conveyed between the platen 2 and the thermal head 4 from the side first. That is, the booklet 10 is not conveyed in the direction in which the page is bent as in the related art, but is conveyed in the direction in which the page is stretched, so that the page on which recording is performed does not bend.

The booklet 10, which has been conveyed to the upstream side in the sheet feeding direction by the conveying rollers 8 and recorded on the page on the downstream side in the sheet feeding direction, is directly conveyed by the conveying rollers 8 to the upstream side in the sheet feeding direction. The paper is discharged to the outside of the apparatus 13 through the same discharge port as the paper feed port. At this time, booklet 1
The transport amount required by the transport roller 8 from the insertion of the “0” inside the device 13 to the discharge to the outside of the device 13 is a transport amount corresponding to about four pages of the booklet 10. This is the minimum transport amount possible when performing control to transport the booklet 10 from the closing portion 11 side to the side end portion 12 side when recording on both pages.

For example, in the above embodiment, first,
After the booklet 10 is conveyed to the downstream side in the paper feeding direction and the recording is performed on the page on the upstream side in the paper feeding direction, the booklet 10 is conveyed to the upstream side in the paper feeding direction and the page on the downstream side in the paper feeding direction is recorded. However, the present invention is not limited to this. First, the booklet 10 is closed by the closing unit 1.
1 is conveyed downstream in the paper feeding direction until it exceeds the holding position of the conveying roller 8 and the pressing roller 9,
Is rotated in the reverse direction so that the booklet 10 is conveyed to the upstream side in the paper supply direction while recording is performed on the page on the downstream side in the paper supply direction. Then, the conveyance roller 8 is rotated forward to supply the booklet 10. Control may be performed so that recording is performed on the page on the upstream side in the paper feeding direction while the paper is conveyed on the downstream side in the paper direction.

Also in this case, the booklet 10 is closed
Since the sheet can be conveyed in the direction from the first side to the side end 12 side, good recording can be performed without causing the page to be bent. Further, in this case, if the discharge port of the booklet 10 is provided on the downstream side in the sheet feeding direction separately from the sheet feeding port, the insertion of the booklet 10 from the inside of the apparatus 13 to the outside of the apparatus 13 can be performed. The transport amount required until the discharge can be made the same as in the above embodiment, and the working efficiency can be improved.
