2. Description of related technology
For metal products such as steel, hot molten metal is injected from the upper end of the mold,
It is continuously cast as a strand by continuously drawing it out. In the mold
As the molten metal passes, the metal surface in contact with the mold wall cools, solidifies and solidifies.
A solidified metal casing or shell is formed around the molten metal inside the strand.
You. After the metal exits the lower end of the mold, it is cooled and solidified metal around the molten core
The thickness of the casing or shell increases and eventually the entire strand solidifies.
Conventional continuous casting molds have a large number of straight plates, usually formed from copper or copper alloys.
And an external support wall surrounding the linear plate. Straight plate is cast
In the process, it forms part of the mold that contacts the molten metal. External wall and straight play
Water circulation slots or channels extending in parallel with each other in the vertical direction.
Can be During operation, water is introduced into these slots, but the water is usually
The lower end of the mold by the supply pressure from the water supply part communicating with all the slots of the linear plate
Will be introduced. The resulting cooling effect allows the metal to pass through the mold.
Accordingly, the shell of the molten metal solidifies. Further cooling after the semi-solidified slab leaves the mold
The coagulation is completed by directly spraying an agent, usually water, on the slab. Like this
