Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.磁気ディスク保存システムであって、ベースと、回転シャフトを有する回 転可能な磁気保存ディスクと、該磁気ディスク上で情報を読み込み及び書き込む ためのトランスデューサヘッドと、前記ベースに固定されたカバーと、流体力学 的な流体ベアリングシステムとを具備し、該流体ベアリングシステムは前記磁気 ディスクに取り付けられた回転スリーブと協働する第一端部および第二端部を有 する固定シャフトを具備し、前記磁気ディスクは前記中央のシャフトと一致する 回転軸で前記固定シャフトに対して回転し、前記回転スリーブは前記第一端部か ら前記第二端部へ向かって順に第一ジャーナルベアリングと、該第一ジャーナル ベアリングに隣接する第一円錐ベアリングと、第一スラストベアリングと、該第 一スラストベアリングに隣接する第二ジャーナルベアリングとを画定するように 前記固定シャフトと協働し、前記スリーブと前記固定シャフトとは上記ベアリン グの各々を潤滑するために流体を保持する間隙を形成するように協働し、前記間 隙内の潤滑流体は前記シャフトと前記スリーブとを分離する磁気ディスク保存シ ステム。 2.前記円錐ベアリングは前記スリーブの凹面と協働する前記シャフトの凸面 により画定され、前記凸面の狭い端部が前記ベースにより近い請求項1に記載の 磁気ディスク保存システム。 3.前記第一ジャーナルベアリング及び前記第二ジャーナルベアリングはそれ ぞれ前記固定シャフトと相対的に回転する前記スリーブとの間に間隙を有し、前 記第一ジャーナルベアリングに隣接する前記間隙は前記間隙からの前記潤滑流体 の漏れを防ぐためのキャピラリーシールで終端し、前記間隙の端部は前記シャフ トを向いた前記スリーブと前記シャフトの端部とから取り付けられたカウンター プレートを向いて終端し、前記間隙の第二端部は流体を循環させるために前記カ ウンタープレートと前記シャフトの端部との間の間隙へ連結される請求項2に記 載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 4.前記第二ジャーナルベアリングに含まれる前記シャフトは前記第一ジャー ナルベアリングに含まれる前記シャフトより大きな直径を有し、前記第一ジャー ナルベアリングは前記円錐ベアリングの凸面の端部に直接隣接し、これにより前 記流体力学的な流体ベアリング装置の安定性が高められる請求項1に記載の磁気 ディスク保存システム。 5.前記第一ジャーナルベアリングに隣接する前記シャフトの表面または相対 的に回転するスリーブの表面の一方に溝を具備し、該溝は前記ジャーナルの端部 で前記キャピラリーシールから離れ且つ前記円錐ベアリングへ向かう正味ポンピ ングを有し、前記ベアリングを自己シールする請求項1に記載の磁気ディスク保 存システム。 6.前記第一ジャーナルベアリングに隣接した前記間隙の第二端部は前記間隙 から前記潤滑流体の損失を防ぎぐためにキャピラリーシールで終端し、前記間隙 の端部が前記シャフトを向いた前記スリーブと前記シャフトの端部とから取り付 けられたカウンタープレートを向いて終端し、前記間隙の第二端部は流体を循環 させるために前記カウンタープレートと前記シャフトの端部との間の間隙に連結 される請求項2に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 7.前記第二ジャーナルベアリングの軸方向の長さが前記第一ジャーナルベア リングの軸方向の長さより短い請求項6に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 8.前記円錐ベアリングを画定する少なくとも一つの表面に溝が設けられる請 求項7に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 9.前記スラストベアリングは前記円錐ベアリングを越えて径方 向へ延びる第一平面と第二平面とを有し、これら第一平面と第二平面とは鉛直面 により連結される請求項8に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 10.前記シャフトを通って軸方向へ延びるリザーバを有し、該リザーバは径 方向へ延びる一つ以上の孔により前記シャフトと前記スリーブとの間の間隙に接 続される請求項9に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 11.前記リザーバが前記シャフトの端部と前記カウンタープレートとの間の 間隙まで延びる請求項10に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 12.前記径方向へ延びる孔の一つが前記スラストベアリングおよび前記円錐 ベアリングに隣接した間隙に接続される請求項11に記載の磁気ディスク保存シ ステム。 13.前記径方向へ延びる孔の一つが前記円錐ベアリングに隣接した間隙に接 続される請求項11に記載の磁気ディスク保存システム。 14.前記径方向へ延びる孔の一つが前記径方向へ延びる孔が前記スラストプ レートと前記カウンタープレートとの間の間隙まで径方向へ延びるように前記ス ラストベアリングに隣接した間隙に接続される請求項11に記載の磁気ディスク 保存システム。 15.前記流体が気体と流体との組み合わせであり、気体または流体のみが前 記ベアリング用の潤滑剤として用いられる請求項11に記載の磁気ディスク保存 システム。 16.前記ディスクドライブ用のハウジングと、一定速度で回転できるように 一つ以上のディスクを支持する支持手段と、前記ディスクの各々のデータ記憶位 置にアクセスするためのアクセス手段とを具備し、前記支持手段が前記一つ以上 のディスクを支持するハブ が前記ハウジング内に支持されるシャフトに対して回転可能とするための流体で 満たされた流体力学ベアリング手段を具備する磁気ディスク保存システム。 17.ディスクドライブであって、ディスクと、モータと、一定の回転速度を 実現するために前記ディスクと前記モータとを流体的に連結するために前記ディ スクと前記モータとに接続された手段とを具備するディスクドライブ。
