Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 基地局と移動局との間で信号を伝送するための方法であって、前記各局 が、トランシーバ(送受信)手段と制御手段を含み、前記基地局の少なくとも制 御手段が上りリンク上に受信される信号の品質を決定することができ、この上り および/あるいは下りリンクの品質に関する情報に基づいて、下りリンク上に伝 送されるべき信号が変調され、伝送の特性が選択されることを特徴とする方法。 2. さらに、前記伝送の特性を、ビット速度、ビットエラー率、およびエン ド・ツウ・エンド遅延の少なくとも一つに基づいて選択することを特徴とする請 求の範囲1に記載の方法。 3. 前記下りリンクの伝送が、時間フレームから構成され、各時間フレーム がヘッダを含み、このヘッダが、伝送の特性を示す指標、および時間フレーム内 の各データバーストのタイミングを示す指標を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲 1あるいは2に記載の方法。 4. 前記下りリンクの伝送が、TDMA方式を用いることを特徴とする請求の範 囲1から3のいずれかに記載の方法。 5. 前記上りリンクの伝送が、CDMAおよび/あるいはTDMA方式を用いること を特徴とする請求の範囲1から4いずれかに記載の方法。 6. 双方向電気通信システムであって、このシステムが、基地局と、トラン シーバ(送受信)手段を含む少なくとも一つの移動局を含み、前記基地局が、下 りリンクに信号を送信するための送信手段、前記移動局の前記トランシーバ送受 信手段によって上りリンクに伝送された信号を受信するための受信手段、および 制御手段を含み、この制御手段が、上りリンクから前記受信手段によって受信さ れる信号の品質を決定するための手段、および前記下りリンクに送信されるべき 信号を変調するための手段を含み、この変調手段が、前記上りおよび/あるいは 下りリンクの品質に関して得られた情報に基づいて、上りおよび/あるいは下り リンクの伝送特性を選択することを特徴とするシステム。 7. 前記基地局が、下りリンクの信号を、TDMAフォーマットに従って送信し 、このTDMAフォーマットが、一連の時間フレームから構成され、各フレームがフ レームヘッダを含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲6に記載のシステム。 8. 前記フレームヘッダが、一つあるいは複数の移動局に宛てられたデータ バーストの位置を示す指標を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲7に記載のシステ ム。 9. 前記フレームヘッダが、各データバーストのフォーマットおよびタイミ ングを示す指標を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲8に記載のシステム。 10. 前記データバースト内にトレーニングシーケンスが埋め込まれること を特徴とする請求の範囲8あるいは9に記載のシステム。 11. 前記少なくとも一つの移動局が、その移動局のデータバーストが他の 移動局に宛てられていると判定したときに休眠モードに入ることで、電力の節約 を行なうことを特徴とする請求の範囲7から10のいずれかに記載のシステム。 12. 前記時間フレームが、実質的に固定継続期間を持つことを特徴とする 請求の範囲7から11のいずれかに記載のシステム。 13. 前記変調手段が、基地局に比較的近接して位置する移動局に信号を送 信するときは高次の変調スキームを用い、比較遠くに位置する移動局に信号を送 信するときは、低ビット速度の直交符号(直交符号化スキーム)を用いることを 特徴とする請求の範囲6から12のいずれかに記載のシステム。 14. 下りリンクのトラヒックデータが、移動局による受信の信頼性が保証 されるように選択された変調スキームおよび電力レベルを用いて送信されること を特徴とする請求の範囲6から13のいずれかに記載のシステム。 15. 上りリンク信号がCDMA信号として伝送されることを特徴とする請求の 範囲6から14のいずれかに記載のシステム。 16. 上りリンク信号が、TDMAフォーマットに従って伝送されることを特徴 とする請求の範囲6から15のいずれかに記載のシステム。 17. 上りリンクTDMA信号が、少なくとも2つのデータバーストを含み、隣 接するバースト間に保護スペースが挿入されることを特徴とする請求の範囲16 記載のシステム。 18. 上りリンクTDMA信号が、データバーストから構成され、各データバー ストが、少なくとも一つのタイミングシーケンスを含むことを特徴とする請求の 範囲16あるいは17のいずれかに記載のシステム。 19. 上りリンクTDMA信号が、データパケットから構成され、これらデータ パケットの少なくとも2つのビット速度が異なることを特徴とする請求の範囲1 6、17あるいは18のいずれかに記載のシステム。 20. 上りリンク信号に対するタイミングが下りリンク信号から得られるこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲6から19のいずれかに記載のシステム。 21. 前記システムは、複数のセルから構成されるセルラシステムであり、 各セルが、おのおののカバレッジエリアを定義する基地局を持つことを特徴とす る請求の範囲6から20のいずれかに記載のシステム。 22. 前記基地局が、呼に参与している移動局を、一つのセルから別のセル にハンドオーバするための手段を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲21に記載の システム。
