Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.通信ネットワークのための発信または出リンクによる複数のパケットのた めの伝送時間をスケジューリングする方法であって、 A)前記複数のパケットを格納するためのメモリコントローラを有するパケッ トバッファメモリを使用する段階、そして B)前のパケットの前の実際の伝送時間に基づき前記複数のパケットに対する 伝送時間をスケジューリングするための複数サービスカテゴリのスケジューラを 使用する段階、 を具備する通信ネットワークのための発信または出リンクによる複数のパケッ トのための伝送時間をスケジューリングする方法。 2.以下のステップ、 A)メモリコントローラによって、前記パケットを少なくとも1つのパケット メモリにおける複数の接続ごとのデータキューに入れる段階であって、各々のキ ューはキューIDを有するもの、 B)前記メモリコントローラによって、データキューが前記メモリコントロー ラがパケットをキューに入れる直前に空である場合に、少なくとも1つのマルチ サービスカテゴリのスケジューラに対し最初の到着が生じたことを通知する段階 、 C)前記マルチサービスカテゴリのスケジューラの計算ユニットによって、接 続ごとのコンテクストメモリに格納された接続に関連するサービスカテゴリおよ び現在の状態情報を使用して、最も早い伝送時間「タイムアーリエスト」および 更新された「優先度インデクス」を計算し、かつ現在の状態情報を更新しかつ接 続ごとのコンテクストメモリに格納する段階、 D)前記計算ユニットによって、「タスク」を発生する段階であって、該タス クは、 D1)キューID、 D2)前記「タイムアーリエスト」、および D3)前記「優先度インデクス」、 を含むもの、 E)前記タスクを少なくとも第1のカレンダキューの1つに挿入する段階、 F)前記カレンダキューによって、前記計算された「タイムアーリエスト」に おいて、前記タスクを複数の優先度タスクキューの1つに格納する段階、 G)優先度タスクデコーダによって、ある時間機会に従って「タイムアーリエ スト」に等しいかまたはより大きい時間に、前記優先度タスクキューからタスク を除去しかつ前記メモリコントローラで要求を発生する段階、 H)前記メモリコントローラによって前記パケットをキューから除去しかつ該 パケットを伝送する段階、 I)前記メモリコントローラによってさらに送信すべきパケットが残っている 場合、前記マルチサービスカテゴリのスケジューラに対し前記接続ごとのキュー が空でないことを通知する段階、 J)前記計算ユニットによって、サービスカテゴリおよび前記接続に関連する 現在の状態情報に基づき更新された「タイムアーリエスト」および更新された「 優先度インデクス」を計算し、かつ現在の状態情報を更新しかつ前記接続ごとの コンテクストメモリに格納する段階、 K)前記接続ごとのキューが空でない場合、前記計算ユニットによって、接続 のために前記更新された「タイムアーリエスト」を使用して新しいタスクを発生 しかつステップEに戻り、かつそうではなく、前記接続ごとのキューが空である 場合は、前記メモリコントローラによる通知を待機しかつステップCに戻る段階 、 を具備する、請求項1に記載の方法。 3.パケット交換機における定ビットレート、CBR、パケットトラフィック に対し、前記接続に対する取り決められたトラフィックパラメータ、前記実時間 クロック「タイムナウ」の現在の値、および前記接続ごとのコンテクストメモリ に格納された前記接続に関連する状態情報の所定の関数を使用して「タイムアー リエスト」を更新する段階を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。 4.パケット交換機におけるUBRパケットトラフィッ クに対して、以下のステップ、 A)前記段階Cにおいて、最初のパケット到着に際して、「タイムナウ」が「 タイムアーリエスト」より大きい場合、「タイムアーリエスト」を「タイムナウ 」に等しく更新する段階であって、「タイムナウ」は実時間クロックの出力であ るもの、そして接続ごとのコンテクストメモリに更新された「タイムアーリエス ト」を格納する段階、そして B)前記段階Jにおいて、「タイムアーリエスト 」を「タイムナウ」プラスパケット周期または期間に更新する段階であって、該 パケット周期または期間は所定のピークパケットレートの逆数であるもの、そし て更新された「タイムアーリエスト」を前記接続ごとのコンテクストメモリに格 納する段階、 を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。 5.パケット交換機におけるアベイラブルビットレート、ABR、パケットト ラフィックに対して、以下のステップ、 A)前記段階Jにおいて、前記接続に対する前記取り決められたトラフィック パラメータ、実時間クロック「タイムナウ」の現在の値、および前記接続ごとの コンテクストメモリに格納された関連する所定の状態情報の所定の関数を使用し て「タイムアーリエスト」を更新する段階、 B)前記段階Jにおいて、リーキーバケットアルゴリズムのような、所定のア ルゴリズムを使用して、前記接続に対し、前記パケットマルチプレクサの出力に おける実際の 伝送パケットレートが前記取り決められた最小パケットレートより低く低下して いるかを判定する段階、そして C)前記段階Jにおいて、前記「優先度インデクス」を前記段階Bにおいて決 定された実際のパケットレートの所定の関数として少なくとも2つの異なる優先 度レベルの1つに設定する段階、 を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。 6.パケット交換機における可変ビットレート、VBR、パケットトラフィッ クに対し、以下のステップ、 A)前記段階Jにおいて、前記パケットマルチプレクサの出力における実際の 伝送パケットレートがその接続に対する取り決められた耐えられるパケットレー ト、SCR、より低く低下したか否かを判定するために所定のアルゴリズムを使 用する段階、 B)前記段階Jにおいて、前記パケットマルチプレクサの出力における実際の 伝送パケットレートがその接続に対するバースト限界、MBS、を超えたか否か を判定するために所定のアルゴリズムを使用する段階、 C)前記段階Jにおいて、前記接続に対する取り決められたトラフィックパラ メータ、実時間クロック「タイムナウ」の現在の値、前記段階AおよびBの出力 、および前記接続ごとのコンテクストメモリに格納された前記接続に対する所定 の関連する状態情報の所定の関数を使用して「タイムアーリエスト」を更新する 段階、 D)前記段階Jにおいて、前記段階AおよびBにおいて決定されたパケットマ ルチプレクサの出力における前記実際の伝送パケットレートの所定の関数として 少なくとも2つの異なる優先度レベルの1つに前記「優先度インデクス」を設定 する段階、 を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。 7.前記優先度デコードは、 A)1組の優先度タスクキューおよび前記タスクキューの出力におけるヘッド オブライン優先度デコーダ/デマルチプレクサを使用する段階、 B)ヘッドオブライン優先度および重み付けされたラウンドロビンキューイン グ規律の組み合わせを提供するよう構成された優先度デコーダ/デマルチプレク サおよび1組の優先度タスクキューを使用する段階、 の内の1つを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。 8.通信ネットワークのための発信または出リンクによる複数のパケットの伝 送時間をスケジューリングするための事象スケジューラであって、 A)前記複数のパケットを受けるよう結合され、前記パケットを接続ごとのキ ューに格納し、最初の事象をスケジューリングし、かつ事象を再スケジューリン グするためのメモリコントローラを有する少なくとも第1のパケットバッファメ モリ、そして B)前記少なくとも第1のパケットバッファメモリに結 合され、前のパケットの前の実際の伝送時間に基づき前記複数のパケットのため の伝送時間または送信時間をスケジューリングするための少なくとも第1の複数 サービスカテゴリのスケジューラ、 を具備する通信ネットワークのための発信または出リンクによる複数のパケッ トの伝送時間をスケジューリングするための事象スケジューラ。 9.前記複数サー・ビスカテゴリのスケジューラは、 A)各々のパケットの所望の伝送時間を計算しかつタスクを出力する、計算ユ ニット、 B)前記計算ユニットに結合され、前記所望の伝送時間にタスクを発生するた めに前記所望の伝送時間を使用しかつ前記タスクを1組の優先度タスクキューに 入れるための少なくとも第1のカレンダキュー、 C)前記少なくとも第1のカレンダキューに結合され、ある送信機会において 、前記1組の優先度タスクキューから多くても1つのタスクを除去しかつ特定の パケットキューにサービスするために前記メモリコントローラに要求を出力する ための優先度デコーダ/MUX、 を具備する請求項8に記載の事象スケジューラ。 10.通信ネットワークのための発信または出リンクによる複数のパケットの ための伝送時間をスケジューリングするためのコンピュータプログラムを表わす 実行可能な命令によって符号化されたコンピュータメモリであって、前 記実行可能な命令は、 A)前記複数のパケットを格納するためのメモリコントローラを有するパケッ トバッファメモリを使用する段階、 そして B)前のパケットの前の実際の伝送時間に基づき前記複数のパケットに対する 伝送時間をスケジューリングするために複数サービスカテゴリのスケジューラを 使用する段階、 を具備する、コンピュータメモリ。
