発明の分野
本発明は、閉経期の症状の防止及び治療のための一般式Iの化合物の使用に関
する。本発明は、これらの化合物を含む医薬組成物並びに該化合物及びそれらの
医薬組成物を用いる方法も含む。
発明の背景
閉経期は、女性における月経による出血の最終的なエピソードとして定義され

本発明の詳細な記載
本発明は、一部は、典型的な3,4−ジアリールクロマンであるセントクロマ
ン(3,4−トランス−2,2−ジメチル−3−フェニル−4−〔p−(β−ピ
ロリジノエトキシ)フェニル〕−7−メトキシクロマン)が部分的なエストロゲ
ンアンタゴニスト/アゴニストであり、動物モデルの範囲においてエストロゲン
と同様の機能を示し、そしてエストロゲン治療に関連する逆効果を有することな
く更年期の症状及び病訴の治療に役立つという発見に基づく。
