2. Description of the Related Art A light emitting device of this type is known, for example, as a signal lamp described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2-226604. Light-emitting diodes are solid-state light sources and have a long service life, so red-and-yellow light-emitting diodes have gained attention as light sources that can be replaced with a longer interval and that exhibit high reliability over a long period of time, and have already been able to obtain the required light intensity. Are being used in signal lights instead of conventional incandescent lamps.

However, in the case of a light emitting diode, it is common to use surface light emission in which a large number of minute light emitting diodes are arranged. In the case of using the light emitting diode, it is necessary to satisfy each condition such as light distribution, the number of light emitting diodes to be mounted, a position or a temperature characteristic.

[0005] As described above, in a light-emitting diode module in which a large number of light-emitting diodes are arranged in a plane as described above, the heat generated by the adjacent light-emitting diodes tends to accumulate the light-emitting diodes and the temperature tends to rise. In particular, when arranged in a plane, the central portion has many adjacent light emitting diodes, so heat storage is promoted and the temperature rises, and in the peripheral portion, the temperature rises because heat is radiated from a place with few adjacent light emitting diodes. As a result, the luminous intensity in the central portion of the light emitting diode module is lower than that in the peripheral portion, and the desired luminous intensity and light distribution cannot be obtained.

The arrangement of the plurality of light emitting diodes may be lattice, radial, or random.
The light emitting diodes are mounted so that the central part is sparse in the central part and the outer peripheral part is dense, and the outer peripheral part is dense. In this case, the central portion and the outer peripheral portion are divided into two, and the interval between the light emitting diodes is made wider in the peripheral portion than in the central portion.
In addition, the mounting may be performed stepwise so that the number of the central portions per unit area is reduced.

According to the present invention, since the arrangement of the plurality of light emitting diodes is mounted so that the center portion is sparse in the central portion and the outer peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion is dense, the outer peripheral portion which is easy to radiate heat is provided. Even if the light emitting diodes are densely mounted, the temperature does not become high even if they are densely mounted. However, the adjacent light emitting diodes are a heat source in the central portion, so the temperature tends to be particularly high.To prevent this, the arrangement of the light emitting diodes in the central portion , The environment where each light emitting diode can easily radiate heat is provided. As a result, the temperature of the central portion can be reduced, the temperature of the entire module can be made uniform, the luminous intensity of the central portion and the luminous intensity of the outer peripheral portion can be made constant, and a desired luminous intensity and light distribution can be easily obtained. Can be done.
