ム合金で製造することにより、プラスチックと同等以上
の性能を有するものが金属材で提供でき、将来的なマテ
リアルリサイクルを容易にすることを目的としている。

調和機の室外機前面グリルである。このような組成を選
択することによって580℃付近に加熱すると固相を1

度に加熱した状態で、断面形状が翼形形状で水平桟列群
で構成された成形品を得る空気調和機の室外機前面グリ
ルの製造方法である。これによって、剛性に優れたマグ
ネシウムの成形品が寸法精度に優れ、高性能な前面グリ
ルが量産性よく製造できる。

【実施例】以下、本発明の一実施例について図面を参考
に詳細な説明を行う。 (実施例1)図1は空気調和機の室外機前面グリルの正
面図、図2は断面図を示しており、熱交換器1と外装板
2で囲まれた空間に羽根車3とモータ4が収納されてお
り、羽根車3の周囲にオリフィス5が設けられている。
羽根車3の下流側に面する外装板2には吹き出し口6が
設けられ、その外側にはグリル7が取り付けられてい
る。グリル7の水平桟8は断面形状が翼形形状で構成さ
れる。水平桟モータ4はモータ支持台9によって外装板
2に固定されている。このような構造において外部空気
はモータ4に直結された羽根車3の回転により、熱交換
器1の側から空気を吸い込み、吹き出し口6を通してグ
リル7から外部へ吐出される。また図3は断面形状が翼
形形状で構成される水平桟の一部拡大断面図である。L
は翼形形状を有する水平桟の翼弦長、Tは水平桟間のピ
ッチ、Dは水平桟の最大キャンバ、Cは水平桟の前縁か
ら最大キャンバまでの距離、Wは流れ方向を示す。前面
グリルとして優れた性能を得るためには流れ方向に対し
て0.3≦C/L≦0.7の翼形形状とすることが好ま
しい。また、水平桟間のピッチTはJIS C9612
記載のフィンガー試験をもとに水平桟の最大キャンバD
とマグネシウム合金の剛性を考慮して設計される。マグ
ネシウム系合金(90Mg−9Al−1Zn)はチップ
(長軸が5〜6mm程度の米粒状)を使用してチクソモ
ールディング法により、外寸450×500mmの室外
機前面グリル(重量 420g)に成形された。チクソ
モールディング法とはシリンダー内でチップを凝固点〜
融点の温度まで加熱し、液相と固相が共存した半溶融状
態にして金型に射出注入する成形方法である。実施例で
は550〜580℃まで加熱した。使用したマグネシウ
ム系合金は比重が1.82程度である。 (比較例1)難燃性ポリプロピレンを使用して外寸45
0×500mmの室外機前面グリル(重量 500g)
を成形した。実施例1と比較例1を比べると比較例1で
はJIS C9612記載のフィンガー試験で指が入ら
ないようにするため水平桟群を支持桟群で補強する構成
となっていた。また比較例では先端が所定の形状をした
太さΦ12の試験フィンガーに対して安全性を確保する
ために水平桟と水平桟との隙間を9mmにしていたが、
実施例で剛性が向上できたので隙間を10mmにするこ
とができ、それによっても開口率を向上させることがで
き、送風性能も向上する。また、実施例1では前面グリ
ルをマゲネシウム合金とすることによってはるかに大き
な剛性を得ることができ、支持桟群は必要ではなく、水
平桟群だけで構成することが可能であり、前面グリルを
薄肉化することで軽量化も図れた。さらに、比較例1の
プラスチックには環境負荷の大きなハロゲン系難燃剤が
使用されており、リサイクルおよび環境影響を考慮する
と実施例のほうがはるかに適した部品といえる。マグネ
シウム合金の場合充分な耐食性を得るためには塗膜コー
トと必要になるが、その塗膜がリサイクル性に悪影響を
及ぼすことはなかった。

縮小化することによってある程度軽量化も達成できた。
また、請求項3に記載の発明によれば、このような組成
を選択することによって580℃付近に加熱すると固相
を15重量%程度含んだ半溶融体を得ることができ、ス
クリュー射出成形機で成形することで寸法精度に優れた
ものが得られた。また、請求項4に記載の発明によれ
ば、これによって、剛性に優れたマグネシウムの成形品
が寸法精度よく量産製造できた。
