【請求項2】少なくとも一部分が薄膜層の厚さを上回る高さをもつスペーサーを基板上に形成する工程と、基板上に形成された第一電極上に少なくとも有機化合物からなる発光層を含む薄膜層を形成する工程と、第二電極を前記薄膜層上に形成する工程と、前記基板と封止板とを貼り合わせる封止工程とを含む有機電界発光素子の製造方法であって、前記スペーサー形成工程後かつ封止工程前に少なくとも前記基板を脱水処理することを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
【請求項3】構成部材の少なくとも一部を常圧もしくは減圧雰囲気下で50℃以上に加熱することで脱水処理することを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
【請求項4】構成部材の少なくとも一部を露点−30℃以下の低湿度雰囲気下で50℃以上に加熱することで脱水処理することを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
【請求項5】構成部材の少なくとも一部を減圧雰囲気下に置くことで脱水処理することを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
【請求項6】基板と封止板とを露点−30℃以下の低湿度雰囲気下で貼り合わせることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
【請求項7】第一電極を間隔をあけて配置された複数のストライプ状電極にパターニングし、かつ、第二電極を前記第一電極に対して交差する複数のストライプ状電極にパターニングすることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
