Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a reduction of a preventing characteristic of a bumper rubber under a high load by a simple means by attaching an annular body on an end periphery of a dust cover body. SOLUTION: A urethane rubber is used as a material of a bumper rubber 4 and a blend of NR(natural rubber) / EPDM(ethylene-propylene-dieneterpolymer) is used for a dust cover body 102, an end surface and a dust cover. An annular body 104 attached to the end surface is made of a stainless steel (18-8) and a band-like ring having a thickness of 2 mm and a width of 10 mm is press- fitted and engaged to the end surface. When press-fitting and engaging, a concave portion 105 matching to the thickness of the annular body 104 is formed on the end surface to stabilize the engagement. The device is evaluated by a load-deflection curve in a compression tester. As a result, even if a high load is applied thereto, an outstanding effect that a vibration-controlling characteristic can be maintained is exhibited.

2. Description of the Related Art A vibration isolator integrated with a bumper rubber and a dust cover applied to a vehicle or other vibration isolator is already known. For example, in a shock absorber (1) in an automobile vibration isolator (A) as shown in FIG. 3, a flexible bumper rubber (4) is attached to a piston rod (3) extending from a cylinder (2), and the shock absorber (1) is mounted. In (1), when an axial load is applied, the shock is absorbed by elastic deformation, and when a sudden load is applied, the shock is averaged by a buffering action having a phase difference in the elastic deformation. In order to prevent foreign substances such as water and stones from entering the bumper rubber (4), the cylinder (2), the piston rod (3), and the like, the dust cover body (10)
It is covered with a dust cover (101) integrated with 2). The dust cover (10) integrated with the bumper rubber (4) and the dust cover main body (102).
1) has a structure fixed to the piston rod (3). A dish-shaped member (not shown) is attached to the lower part of the cylinder (2).
An upper sheet (5) is attached to the upper part of 2), and a spring (6) is attached between the dish-shaped member and the upper sheet (5). Dust cover (1
01) is formed in a bellows shape using an elastic body such as rubber so as to correspond to the vertical function of the cylinder (2), and can be extended and contracted. Then, the cylinder (2) moves up and down by the bounding and rebounding of wheels (not shown), and comes into contact with the bumper rubber (4) to dampen vibration.

In the above-described conventional vibration damping device, the bumper rubber (4), the dust cover main body (102), and the dust cover (101) are individually combined with each other, integrated, and attached. However, those in which the bumper rubber (4), the dust cover body (102) and the dust cover (101) are unitized by integral molding are also disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Nos. 9-334822 and 9-364.
No. 799, but the function is the same as the former.

[0004] In such a vibration isolator, however, no special problem occurs when a low load is applied.
When a high load is applied (X) as shown in (1), the end surface (103) of the dust cover main body (102) expands (Y), and the vibration isolation characteristics are significantly reduced. (A broken line in the image stabilization characteristic diagram of FIG. 2). That is, the bumper rubber (4) cannot withstand a high load and spreads outward, and the spread is directly received by the dust cover main body (102), and the end face (103) spreads in a chain, and the vibration damping characteristics deteriorate. To encourage.
